Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

Edge woke up with a loud grunt as cold water was splashed onto his face making him spring up in abrupt shock. His back was on fire and he could hardly breathe. He felt weak, dizzy, his eyes seeing stars for a few moments before a blow landed on his jaw, jolting him back to his senses.

"Get up, you animal!" A loud, gruff voice commanded, making Edge struggle to get up. He remembered he was still stark naked as the guard walked forward and placed a huge metal collar around his neck.

The guard proceeded to drag him by the hair and began to pull him outside, where a shiny black carriage was waiting, with a few guards around it and staring at him with sighs of mockery in their eyes. The guard holding him by the hair directed him go to the back of the carriage and used a chain to attach to the collar then he locked it. He forced his hand behind his back and then he handcuffed it with what looked like suppressors.

"Alright!" The guard called out, "The animal is ready to move!" The guard slammed the carriage twice and then stepped back and walked away.

The carriage began to move as Edge was forced to walk naked and full of shame. He certainly couldn't believe this was happening to him. Edge walked slowly, his feet burning as he walked on the scorching stone floor. He knew he was going to be like this until he reached the place they called Evercrest. Was it a long journey?

As he walked down the road, he saw the citizens come out and began to laugh, mocking him severely. He could see the children laughing at him, calling him all kinds of names. He was so furious that he nearly cracked his teeth as he gritted.

"You pig!" A commoner called out. "You deserve what is coming to you!"

"You should die!"

"You're just a rotten animal that is meant to suck cock for the nobles!"

Suddenly, a tomato was thrown at him, smacking directly on his head. That switched on the citizens. They began raining stones, sticks, vegetables, and boots on Sdge as he walked. Asgobe landed on his forehead and then a gash appeared, blood dripping down his forehead.

"Are the guards in the carriage not going to help me," Ecge muttered in pain as a boot landed on his back, but the guards didn't say a word or talk. They just continued staring ahead and Edge could only grit his teeth and bear it until it was over.

In a luxurious room, Prince Cedric of the Baranium Empire, Isabella, and Maria Rutenaria sat on the chairs, sipping wine and discussing with one another and laughing.

Cedric grinned, twirling his wine as he spoke. "I must say I'm impressed, Isabella. The way we just ruined Darren was magnificent. Your father won't suspect a thing and Evercrest will exile him. You're a true genius."

Isabella laughed heartily, her red eyes twinkling. "Oh, don't make me blush, your highness. It wouldn't have been perfectly executed if not for my beautiful sister."

Cedric nodded. "Yes, you're certainly right. Maria would make a perfect actress. Her performance was exceptionally exquisite. Well done, Maria."

Maria bowed, smiling brightly. "As long as I can help his majesty, I will go to the ends of the earth for you."

Isabella placed a hand on her lap. "I must say that I'm deeply sorry that a wild animal groped you. I definitely know it was unpleasant."

"It was, elder sis." Maria sighed as she sipped. "His presence disgusted me to my core. But he's ruined. He will be forgotten."

Cedric got up and walked over to the window with his glass cup of wine. "If you don't mind my asking, why was it that you thought of this plan in the first place. I'm certainly aware that he didn't do any despicable thing to you. Was it because you wanted to?"

Isabella scoffed she spoke. "It's simple, my Prince. He refused the marriage between him and me. He said he knew that I was not interested in him, but was marrying him for a social experiment. He said he'll never marry me and he was going to do everything in his powert go cancel the marriage from taking place. How dare that filth talk go me like that!"

"He wasn't wrong, was he?"

"He certainly wasn't, my lord," Isabella replied, grinning. "But you enjoyed seeing him suffer, didn't you, my lord?"

Cedric chuckled as he replied. "You are certainly right. Although, he was my friend and he certainly did nothing to me, his existence was a mistake and it needs to be wiped out from reality."

He walked over and knelt down, grasping Isabella's hand. "And now," he continued. "We can finally get married as planned. Won't it be fun to make more plans like this but now we're together. "

Isabella cradled his hands and placed them to her chest. "It warms my heart to see that you still love me, my lord. It'll be a dream come true to marry you, my lord."

They both hugged, chuckling with themselves as Maria watched on with a great big smile on her face. But ghdy certainly didn't notice that Duke Leonard had walked past the loo and stopped, seeing the intimate position Prince Cedric and Isabella were in, but instead of him smiling, there was a slight frown on his face. It wasn't the protective father smile that was supposed to be expected, this one was quite different.

Duke Leonard stared at them for a short while before he walked away, a grim look on his face. He felt something was off but he couldn't put a word to it. He had to go to his office and mull over the events he had witnessed yesterday and today and hope he hadn't missed anything.
