Ivy could not believe what she had just seen—a girl who had been stabbed was still alive, her wounds already healed.
"Never thought that a Variant like you could harm my mother's pretty body like this." Alune smirked at Ivy as a bow appeared out of thin air. "Sorry, well, an eye for an eye, right?" Alune smiled.
Ivy tried to attack, but Alune easily dodged. "How come one of the Variant rebels is so weak?" she sighed and continued to evade. The man watched in awe as her movements were like choreography.
She pulled the bowstring and aimed at Ivy. "Thanks for waking me up from my slumber, you ugly green witch." She released the string, and two water arrows flew toward Ivy.
The arrows pierced Ivy's body and melted into her. "Bye," Alune smiled as she watched Ivy scream in pain and torture.
The bow in Alune's hand turned into a dagger, and she cut the vines that were binding the man. "You're really useless, Father," she sighed.
The man chuckled while patting her head. "Sorry, Levi, I'm still adjusting to this body… I never thought I would be reincarnated into someone this young."
Alune just sighed when suddenly a light appeared in front of her. She fainted in the arms of that man. "I should not call you father; it feels like calling a dog my dad." The light slowly changed its form into a handsome young man with long dark blue hair.
"Ivan, stop hiding your power. Just use it… if you don't, you nearly let her die at the hands of the rebels." A voice came from the shadows. Aiyen walked out from the darkness with his hands full of blood.
Levi smiled widely as he looked at Aiyen. "Lord Atheon!" Levi ran toward Aiyen and hugged him. Aiyen just chuckled. "Wait a minute, Leviathan, my hands are full of blood—please don't touch me, okay?" Leviathan nodded.
Leviathan flicked his finger, and the lingering water floating in the air cleaned the area and Aiyen's hands.
"You really want to show off, huh?" Aiyen teased Leviathan, who proudly used his power to clear the area.
"Athe—" Ivan was cut off by Aiyen. "Just call me Aiyen. I'm not the same Atheon who rules the realms now—I'm just a regular citizen of Anor." Aiyen helped Ivan up. "Well, different from you, who was born as one of the emperors of Zerith."
Ivan just shook his head with a slight smile.
"I'm just the son of a lowly servant… an illegitimate son for sure." Ivan sighed as he looked at Alune with a smile. "I miss her face… it's been too long since I've seen her."
Leviathan carried Alune in his arms. Ivan slowly caressed Alune's cheeks, like someone who had longed for her for a very long time.
Leviathan sighed and looked around. "I know you miss my mother, but we should go now. Just now, I felt a weird aura near this area… and I can tell it's not normal people." Leviathan held Alune tightly, and Ivan nodded.
"I will search this area. You go first… it's not the first time the King has wanted her." Aiyen stretched his body slowly to warm himself up.
Aiyen smirked, and the air around him turned cold. A gust of icy wind swirled around his hands. Two long guns appeared in both his hands, ready to shoot. Aiyen's brunette hair now turned white as snow.
"Frostillia, Aurora… face on." Aiyen smiled mischievously as he summoned them.
Two beautiful women with pale skin and white hair appeared beside him. "Yes, Your Highness," they said in sync.
Many Umbra appeared again, but now it looked like a full group of them. "They don't call me the Tyranny Ice King for nothing." He started to shoot every Umbra in sight as if it were child's play.
Alune, who slowly opened her eyes, felt the warm embrace of someone.
"What… happened?" she slowly looked up towards Leviathan, who was carrying her.
Leviathan, who was still running, looked at her. "Oh, good morning, Mother." He smiled widely. Alune nearly screamed as she saw a very handsome man calling her mother, his face very close to hers.
"Don't scream, Mother. We don't want that stupid and ugly Umbra to know our location—well, I can fight, but it's very useless if I have to protect someone other than Mother." He scoffed and rolled his eyes as he looked at Ivan, who was running beside them.
"Sorry, I'm still injured, you ungrateful brat." Ivan glared at him.
"Mother, call Siren and Lumeris, please!" Alune shook her head. "H-how?"
Leviathan stopped running. A full group of Umbra was eating many people in front of them.
"Oh, no… this is… a massacre…" Leviathan slowly put Alune down.
"Just call their names, Mother… they still recognize your voice…" Leviathan summoned a dagger.
Alune nodded. "Please… come… Siren… Lumeris…" Nothing happened.
The Umbra sensed their presence and turned their heads towards Alune and the others.
"Oh no…" Alune's body shook as she saw the Umbra's mouths dripping with fresh human blood. The Umbra charged towards them.
"Oh no, you're not." Leviathan used the dagger as a flying weapon. He controlled its direction with his fingers.
The dagger pierced the Umbra one by one, taking them down. The scene made Alune start crying, hoping they would be saved.
Leviathan panted, exhausted from using the dagger. He fell to his knees as he had used all his power. "Urgh…" he groaned, trying to stand up but failed.
The air turned heavy as the monsters approached them. Ivan glared at the Umbra. "Can you get up, Levy?"
Leviathan shook his head as he tried to stand. "I used too much mana to appear… I cannot withstand more than this." Levy slowly began to fade. "Mother… just call them…" he said before disappearing.
"Leviathan!" Alune screamed as she saw him fade. Ivan just smiled at her. "He's still with you, but now he needs to recover some of his mana…"
Ivan summoned his weapon. "I hate seeing creatures that used to be my people… Abyssal Cage." He used his power and charged toward the Umbra. He sliced them in seconds using his daggers. Shadows crept around the Umbra and bound them, making them unable to move.
"My skills are rusty compared to my first life… well, as long as your dirty hands don't touch—" Suddenly, Ivan coughed up blood. He fell to his knees. "Shit…"
"No… NO!" Alune screamed as she saw the Umbra escape from the shadow bindings. "Please… Lumeris… Siren! Anyone, help!" she cried, terrified.
"I'm so sorry, my dear ethereal goddess… we are late." The monsters disappeared, leaving nothing in sight. Two beautiful figures stood in front of Alune with smiles, their long hair sparkling.
"I never thought we could see our goddess in her teenage years!" A woman floated around Alune.
"Stop it, Siren… are you alright, Goddess?" A handsome man in front of her smiled and gently wiped the blood from her cheek.
"I-I'm okay…" They both smiled.
"Where are my manners? My name is Lumeris, and this woman is Siren," said the man with a smile.
Siren floated towards Ivan and giggled before using her magic to heal him. "Never thought I'd get to see a ruthless and cold Dark Lord like this."
Ivan sighed, hearing Siren's teasing.
Alune just stood there, trying to calm herself… hoping it would end.
