Chapter 316 - Chapter 317: Actually, There Is Another Way

Homelander continued downward, passing through the liquid iron-nickel flow of the outer core, and finally arrived at a massive cavity near the inner core.

The sight here would drive anyone with a weak mind insane.

In this vast space, resembling a God's womb, slept a giant whose size was beyond words.

Tiamut's form was already quite complete, curled up like an infant in a womb.

Six massive, gem-like eyes were embedded in its head.

Its entire body had a golden metallic luster, covered in complex geometric patterns.

Even in sleep, this massive golden divine body constantly emitted the grand pressure of a higher-dimensional being.

Homelander hovered before Tiamut's massive face; his size was as small as a speck of dust before this golden giant.

"What a spectacular big guy," Homelander marveled as he looked Tiamut up and down.

With a flick of his wrist, he took out the master ball.

"Come out, Super Ego. I have something big to show you."

Red light flickered in the vacuum as Ego's tall and strong Kryptonian clone appeared.

Since Ego's main body was now Apokolips and too large to be practical, Homelander could only summon his clone.

Super Ego, summoned within the dimensional rift, was also deep within the rift.

As soon as his eyes opened, his gaze was instantly locked onto the massive golden body in front of him.

"This... this is..."

An extremely shocked expression appeared on Super Ego's usually indifferent face, even carrying a hint of awe.

"Master... this is a true God!"

Super Ego's voice trembled slightly as he involuntarily backed away, as if feeling some sort of bloodline suppression from deep within his genes.

"What? So excited to see a fellow countryman that you're speechless?" Homelander turned his head, watching Ego's reaction with interest.

"No... it's not excitement, Master. It's awe."

Ego calmed his intense mental fluctuations slightly and began to recall the past.

"Nearly a million years ago, I had a very accidental opportunity to meet a member of the Celestials at the edge of the Universe."

"That being's body was unimaginably vast, capable of shaping a star with a single gesture. That was the first time I felt what true cosmic power was."

"From then on, I began to frantically deduce my own origin. I had no torso, no limbs—only a brain floating in the void."

Ego pointed at Tiamut's shimmering golden body and continued.

"Combining my own divine powers of manipulating matter and creating life, I reached a conclusion."

"I am also a God, but a premature one. Due to unknown reasons, I was a defective product forced to leave the incubator before completing the process of Emergence."

"To protect my fragile brain core from being destroyed, I could only instinctively absorb surrounding matter, spending millions of years layering it to form a Planet as a disguised shell."

"Only then did I dare to claim to the outside World that I was a God."

Super Ego slowly flew forward, circling halfway around Tiamut's massive head, a sense of lingering fear welling up in his eyes.

"Master... I really didn't expect that this unremarkable blue Planet would actually be nurturing such a complete God."

Super Ego returned to Homelander's side and said with heartfelt gratitude:

"If Master hadn't stepped in to stop me back then, once my divine power extended and touched this Planet's core..."

"...I'm afraid even without you lifting a finger, my pitiful planetary shell wouldn't have lasted a second before being completely erased from the Universe by the great being who planted him."

"Then you really were lucky." Homelander shrugged nonchalantly. "So, did you, a half-baked God, see anything? When will he wake up?"

Super Ego said helplessly, "Master, my divine power cannot analyze this God across dimensions, but I can see that his gestation is very mature. He is currently in the final stage of sleep and energy conversion."

"I speculate at most three years... he will definitely complete the Emergence and break out of his shell."

"Three years?" Homelander pondered.

This timing, according to the timeline of Thanos snapping his fingers to eliminate half the Universe's population, basically matches the plot. If there are no variables in these three years, Earth will truly become a massive cosmic firework.

"Is there any way to solve this hidden danger?" Homelander asked.

Ego was silent for a moment, then shook his head.

"The current situation is very tricky, Master. We cannot take any radical measures."

"His development is already very mature. Any aggressive or intense action we take now will immediately wake him."

"Once he wakes up due to stimulation and prematurely begins the Emergence... even if Master possesses invincible power and can kill him in a battle... Earth will still cease to exist in the process."

"Is there really no way at all?" Homelander's face darkened.

"There is." Super Ego hesitated for a moment before giving the simplest and most direct solution.

"A necessary condition for Emergence is absorbing a sufficiently large amount of intelligent life energy from the Planet. We can artificially disrupt the progress of this energy accumulation."

"You only need to go to the surface and kill at least half of the intelligent beings, drastically reducing the human population base."

"Once the sleeping God loses his food source and a massive deficit appears in the energy supply, the Emergence process will naturally be delayed indefinitely. This God will continue to fall into a long slumber."

"Kill half the population?"

Hearing this suggestion, even the corners of Homelander's mouth couldn't help but twitch.

"Ego." He pointed to his own face.

"Look closely at my face. Do you think my skin color is purple? Do I have vertical-striped folds on my chin?"

Super Ego was left bewildered. He stared at Homelander's handsome face for a moment and then honestly shook his head.

"No, Master. Your skin color is normal; there's no purple, and there are no folds."

"Then why the hell are you telling me to clear out half the population?! Don't you know I'm the one who cherishes my fans the most?" Homelander rolled his eyes. "I am Homelander, the savior of the World, not some psycho starting a Purge!"

"Can't you just go and assimilate him?" Homelander said irritably.

"It won't work," Super Ego rejected the idea again.

"Assimilation is a process of the superior overcoming the inferior, and this golden God's life level is far too much higher than mine currently is."

Super Ego explained with a bitter smile.

"If I were to forcibly assimilate him in my current state, once it triggers his instinctive counterattack or wakes him up, not only would I fail to consume him, but I'd likely become a delicious snack for him to swallow in one bite!"

"Actually... there is another way.
