Chapter 32 - THE SNAKE IN THE SHADOWS

Following those intense breakthroughs, two or three peaceful weeks went by. The guardians adjusted their approach, training Ronan and Liora without pushing them past their limits. Thanks to their joint efforts, both were soon fighting with the same skill and instinct as the ancient guardians themselves.

It was Sunday, and Liora finally had a day off from her university studies. Ronan, however, was forced to head into his corporate office at Vante to take care of an urgent matter, a obligation he had been whining about since the moment he woke up. All Ronan wanted was to spend a cozy, uninterrupted day with his lover.

As Ronan prepared to leave, he stood directly behind Liora, who was sitting at her desk. Wrapping his arms tightly around Liora's waist, Ronan nuzzled her neck, showering her skin with soft, lingering kisses.

"R-Rony, stop it." Liora giggled, tilting her head to give Ronan better access.

"Come with me to the office~" Ronan whined against his skin. "I'm going to miss you too much~"

Liora laughed softly. "How am I supposed to just come with you? What's your master plan?"

Hearing those words, Ronan pulled back, his eyes lighting up with sudden excitement. "So you'll actually come?!"

Liora chuckled and turned around, wrapping her arms around Ronan's neck with a sweet nod. "I'll miss you too, Ron. I'll get bored sitting here all alone."

"Alright, listen carefully." Ronan said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "I'll head to the company first and call you once the coast is clear. Then, you can use your teleportation power to bring your books and laptop right into the secret bedroom inside my private office. Deal?"

Liora laughed and nodded happily.

The plan executed seamlessly. Throughout the morning and into the afternoon, Liora studied comfortably in the hidden sanctuary of Ronan's secret room. Meanwhile, out in the main office, duty called.

"Mr. Brown?"

Mia stood near the desk holding a heavy stack of documents, calling out his name for the second time. Ronan, however, kept casting anxious glances toward the hidden door of his private quarters. He was terrified that the dark force lurking inside Mia might somehow sense Liora's presence nearby.

"Huh? What is it?" Ronan snapped, blinking back to reality.

Mia frowned slightly. "Are you alright, sir?"

"Y-Yes, I'm fine! Just leave those files on the desk and I'll sign them!"

Surprised by his sudden outburst, Mia set the files down, rolled her eyes in irritation, and turned on her heel to leave. No matter how hard she tried to draw his attention, Ronan barely glanced in her direction, fueling her growing resentment.

Once the door clicked shut, Ronan let out a frustrated sigh, staring at the intimidating mountain of paperwork before him.

"I just need to finish this fast so I can go be with Lio." he muttered to himself. Because of the endless pile of work, he hadn't even been able to properly greet Liora after she teleported into the building.

Summoning every ounce of focus, Ronan flew through his tasks. The moment he signed the final document, he dashed toward the secret bedroom. Bursting through the door, he threw himself onto the bed, wrapping his arms around Liora, who was diligently working on her laptop.

"Oh my god, Ron! You scared the life out of me!" Liora gasped, placing a hand over her hammering heart.

"You're not going to study all day, are you~?" Ronan pouted, resting his chin on Liora's shoulder.

"Just a little bit more, Rony. Be patient," Liora said, chuckling as she focused on her screen.

Resigned, Ronan flopped back onto the bed, leaning against the padded headboard and watching Liora work with affectionate eyes.

A short while later, Liora finished her assignment. "Alright, all done!"

Removing her glasses, she placed them on the nightstand and crawled across the mattress. Climbing directly into Ronan's lap, Liora wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face into Ronan's chest and closing her eyes in sheer content. Ronan wrapped his large hands around Liora's slender waist, a stunning smile gracing his features as he looked down at his sleepy girlfriend.

However, after a few moments of peaceful silence, Liora felt a sudden, unmistakable hardness pressing against her lower body. She pulled back slightly, biting her lip as her eyes darted downward.

"Why are you hard already?" Liora teased softly.

"I'm always hard around you, love." Ronan admitted smoothly.

. . . . . . . . . . .

Before Ronan could say another word, Liora leaned in, capturing his lips in a deep, passionate kiss. Surprised but thrilled, Ronan immediately kissed back, completely surrendering control to his lover.

Liora dragged her lips down Ronan's sharp jawline, trailing fire along the sensitive column of his neck. She sucked and bit at the smooth skin, leaving deep, dark marks in his wake.

"Now everyone at the company will know that CEO Mr. Brown belongs to someone." Liora whispered proudly, admiring her handiwork.

Ronan let out a low, breathy laugh.

"Can I ride you?" Liora asked bluntly, her dark eyes brimming with desire.

A breathtaking smile spread across Ronan's face. "You can do whatever you want, love. Everything I have is yours."

Smirking, Liora reached out and unbuttoned Ronan's dress shirt, pushing it off his broad shoulders. Moving down, she unbuckled Ronan's leather belt, unzipped his trousers, and freed his throbbed length from his briefs.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Outside the main office, Miss Daisy approached the secretary's desk. "Where is Mr. Brown?"

Mia looked up from her computer. "Is something wrong, Miss Daisy?"

"Mr. Brown has an urgent board meeting starting right now, but he's not in his office. Give him a call immediately and tell him to be in the conference room in five minutes." Miss Daisy instructed sternly before walking away.

Mia picked up the desk phone and dialed the extension.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Inside the secret room, the air was thick with heat.

"Aaah~ F*ck, love, ride me faster~" Ronan groaned, his hands gripping Liora's hips as the girl rode him up and down. But Liora was losing her strength, her thighs trembling from the intense effort.

Suddenly, the loud ring of the bedside phone shattered the atmosphere.

Ronan reached out with a groan, answering it. "Hello?"

"Mmmhh~" A sweet moan slipped from Liora's lips as she continued to roll her hips.

Ronan's eyes widened, and he quickly pressed an index finger to his own lips, signaling Liora to be quiet. But intoxicated by the pleasure, Liora couldn't stop. She collapsed onto Ronan's chest, muffling her groans by biting and sucking on one of Ronan's exposed nipples.

"I-I'm in my office. Ah~" Ronan panted into the receiver, struggling to keep his voice steady. "G-Give me ten minutes."

Ronan slammed the phone down and tossed it onto the mattress. Before Liora could react, Ronan flipped their positions, pinning Liora beneath his heavy frame.

"I have an urgent meeting, babe. We need to hurry. Mhhh~ ah~" Ronan growled, his hands anchoring Liora's hips as he began driving into her with fast, powerful thrusts.

"R-Rony... cum quickly! Ah~ hmm~" Liora whimpered, her hair damp with sweat as she held on tightly.

"I'm close, angel... so close!"

Ronan hit her sweet spot with absolute precision, and Liora let out a high-pitched cry, her walls clamping down tight.

"D-Daddy~ ah~ I'm cumming!" Liora cried out, her release spilling across their stomachs. A second later, Ronan let out a deep roar, filling Liora with his heat as he reached his own intense climax.

"Ah... I love you so much, my angel." Ronan panted, pressing a tender kiss to Liora's swollen lips.

Pulling out, Ronan quickly slid off the bed and hurried into the adjoining bathroom, filling the bathtub with warm water.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Returning to the bedroom, Ronan gathered Liora into his arms in a bridal carry.

"R-Rony, stop, go to your meeting! I can wash up myself." Liora protested weakly.

Ignoring her pleas, Ronan carried her into the bathroom and gently lowered her into the soothing water. "You're sore because of me, love. Taking care of you comes first. The company can wait a few minutes." Ronan smiled, leaning down to press a sweet kiss to her forehead.

"I appreciate it, Ron, but you really need to go now. I don't want you missing important work because of me." Liora insisted, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, I promise."

Ronan frowned slightly. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah Rony. Go!"

"Alright. If you need anything, call me. Don't go wandering around the building, and use your teleportation power carefully when you head home." Ronan instructed, pressing one last quick kiss to her lips.

Stripping off his ruined, sweat-stained suit, Ronan grabbed a fresh change of clothes from his extra wardrobe in the secret room. Dressed in seconds, he sprinted out of the cabin to make his meeting.

. . . . . . . . . . .

After cleaning herself up, Liora wrapped a soft bathrobe around her shoulders and walked back into the bedroom. As she got dressed, she noticed two painkiller tablets and a glass of water sitting neatly on the nightstand.

A warm, radiant smile spread across her face. No matter how chaotic or busy Ronan's day was, he never failed to look after her. Without a second thought, Liora swallowed the pills, drank the water, and set the empty glass back down.

Picking up her laptop, she sat at the desk to finish her university work. But as she stared at the screen, her vision suddenly began to swim. The text blurred together into unreadable shapes. Panic rising, Liora closed her eyes tightly and shook her head, but when she opened them again, the world spun wildly out of control.

A sharp, unbearable agony flared inside her skull, accompanied by a wave of intense nausea. Gasping for air, Liora slid off the chair, collapsing heavily onto the floor. As her consciousness rapidly slipped away, her blurry vision caught the subtle outline of a woman standing near the doorway, watching her silently.

Then, complete darkness consumed her.

. . . . . . . . . . .

"What did you just say?!"

In the middle of the executive floor, Ronan grabbed a male assistant by his collar, his eyes flaring a dangerous, violent red.

"S-Sir, I'm sorry! I-"

Ronan slammed his fist onto the nearest desk in a fit of rage. But in that exact instant, a horrifying vision flashed in his mind. Through their deep spiritual connection, he saw the exact moment Liora fell unconscious on the floor of his secret room.

Realization struck like a bolt of lightning. "No, no, no, NO!" Ronan roared.

Turning on his heel, he sprinted toward his private office. Bursting through the double doors, he found Mia standing near his desk, shuffling papers. She jumped back in terror as Ronan stormed in, his eyes glowing a lethal, radiant crimson. He reached out with his senses, but the terrifying truth crashed down on him: Liora's energy was no longer in the building.

Fueled by pure, unadulterated fury, Ronan crossed the room in a flash, grabbing Mia by the throat and slamming her hard against the wall.

"Where is she?! What did you do with Liora?!"

Mia gasped for air, trembling violently under his suffocating grip. "L-Liora? S-Sir, I don't know what you're talking about!"

Before she could utter another word, a burst of dark red light engulfed the room. Using his teleportation power, Ronan dragged Mia straight into the main living room of the Brown estate.

Ronan's grip on her throat tightened, his scarlet eyes burning with killer intent. "I know it's you, Darkan!! Tell me where you hid my Liora, or I'll tear you apart!"

"Ron?!" Maya gasped, rushing into the room at the sudden disturbance.

"Tell me where she is, Darkan!!" Ronan screamed, entirely consumed by his wrath. Mia clawed frantically at his iron fingers, her face turning blue as she suffocated.

"Ron! Calm down! Drop her!" Maya yelled, panic in her voice. "Darkan is possessing her body! If you crush her neck, you'll just kill an innocent woman, you won't hurt the spirit!"

But Ronan was completely blind to reason. "Aren't you ashamed to hide behind a woman's body, Darkan?! Show your true face and fight me!!"

Seeing that Ronan was completely out of control and that the Red Gem on his forehead was blazing with uncontrollable energy, Maya realized he had to act. Summoning his white magical force, Maya launched a blast to separate them. But Ronan countered instantaneously, unleashing a wave of red energy that slammed into Maya, blasting him across the room. Tables and decor shattered into splinters as Maya crashed hard against the far wall.

Ronan raised his hand, preparing to obliterate Mia once and for all. But before he could unleash the fatal blow, a sudden, heavy pressure locked around his neck. Instantly, Ronan's entire body went rigid, his muscles turning as stiff as solid stone.

"Ethan?!" Maya groaned from the floor, pushing himself up through the debris.

Ethan stood behind Ronan, his hands glowing as he maintained the binding spell. "I can only hold this binding spell for about five minutes! We need to figure out what happened before he breaks free!" Ethan yelled, rushing over to Mia, who collapsed to the carpet, coughing violently for air.

Ronan glared at them with glowing red eyes. Though his body was completely immobilized, his senses were sharp, and his voice thundered through the room. "Ethan! Break this spell right now!!"

"Darkan isn't inside Mia's body anymore." Ethan stated calmly, ignoring Ronan's roar. "He's possessing someone else."

"What?!" Maya gasped, stumbling over.

"Liora has already been taken to the Mo Kingdom." Ethan explained grimly. "As the guardian of the Blue Gem, I can no longer feel its presence anywhere on Earth. And since Liora is human, Darkan needed a human host to cross the dimensional threshold with her. Maya, quickly, fetch some water!"

Maya sprinted to the kitchen and returned with a glass, which Ethan gently helped Mia drink.

As Mia caught her breath, Ethan leaned down, his voice urgent. "Mia, listen to me carefully. A few weeks ago, when you were at Vante, you told Liora that Ronan wanted to meet her at the cabin. Do you remember that?"

Mia shook her head frantically, her eyes darting in terror toward the stony, glowing figure of Ronan staring down at her. Realizing her fear, Maya stepped in front of Ronan, blocking his terrifying glare from her view.

"I'll ask you again, Mia." Ethan said gently. "Did you tell Liora to go to the cabin?"

Mia shook her head violently from side to side, tears spilling down her cheeks. "N-No! I never said that to her!"

"Did Ronan tell you to pass that message to her?"

"N-No!" Mia sobbed.

Ethan's eyes narrowed. "Then who told you to say it? Who gave you that instruction?"

Mia swallowed hard, her voice trembling as the final truth spilled from her lips. "M-Miss... Miss Daisy."

A suffocating silence fell over the room. Maya and Ethan exchanged a look of pure horror. Behind them, Ronan's crimson eyes widened in utter shock as Ethan's binding spell finally dissolved.
