Although the Father knew there was a gap in strength between him and Zod, before they truly clashed, he believed that even if he couldn't win, he could teleport away at any time.
Unfortunately, reality developed in ways he hadn't expected, again and again.
Once the battle began, it completely spiraled out of his control; even the origin scepter, which he considered his trump card, couldn't inflict fatal damage on Zod.
Now, this Divine Artifact had even developed cracks under Zod's furious attacks.
Facing the Father's request for a truce, Zod did not continue his assault, mainly because he already considered the origin scepter his own property.
He knew very well that if the fight continued, the Father would certainly be killed, but the Scepter would also be shattered before that happened.
This weapon, capable of communicating with the origin, even if it was merely a projection of a higher-dimensional true body, its functions were no different.
For Zod, it was undoubtedly an important medium for studying the Power Of Origin!
After all, directly studying the Origin Wall was too dangerous; with his current strength, rashly approaching it would 100% result in him being directly absorbed onto the wall.
Furthermore, the Father was different from Darkseid; although he also had his own ulterior motives, he had not truly become a mortal enemy of New Krypton.
Moreover, keeping him alive held greater value than killing him.
Zod's current goal was to integrate the entire Universe, turning it into a stable source of Power Of Faith for himself, and mere violence would be far from enough.
As the leader of New Genesis, the Father possessed strong leadership abilities and was skilled at guiding people's hearts.
As long as he was subdued, it would greatly aid Zod's subsequent plans; he could become a figure equivalent to a prime minister beneath the king.
However, all of this depended on whether he was sensible enough.
Zod ceased his attacks, then, with a disdainful look, said, "If you knew this would happen, why did you even bother? Overestimating yourself!"
Immediately, to the Father's pained expression, Zod raised his hand and conjured the origin scepter from his grasp.
As the Scepter entered his hand, the Power Of Origin residing in the various wounds on Zod's body was rapidly drawn out.
Without the obstruction of this power, Zod's terrifying recovery ability instantly manifested; in just three or two breaths, there were no longer any traces of injury on his body.
The Father, at this time, was also able to calm down and use the Alpha Effect to cast a healing light upon himself.
A moment later, the Father, having mostly recovered, spoke again: "General Zod, how do you plan to deal with Apokolips and New Genesis?"
In his heart, his only concern now was that Zod would become a second Darkseid; if so, it would undoubtedly be a terrifying disaster for the entire Universe.
While the former Darkseid also brought countless destruction to the Universe, he could at least be somewhat restrained.
But with Zod's current terrifying strength, he didn't know who could stop him.
To this, Zod said as a matter of course: "Naturally, they will all be merged into my New Krypton."
The Father, however, said: "But Apokolips and New Genesis have a generational blood feud; the hands of those fellows are stained with countless bloodshed."
"I don't care about the past. Don't take me for a righteous cosmic judge; I have no interest in playing games of good versus evil."
"I could kill Darkseid, and I can naturally kill you. The only reason you're still alive now is because you have value in remaining alive."
"If you can't even reconcile the conflicts between New Genesis and Apokolips, hmph!"
Zod's words were not complete, but the Father already understood their meaning.
However, he did not feel fear because of Zod's bluntness; instead, his mind settled, and even the expression on his face relaxed slightly.
Because he understood that for Zod to say such things meant he was not merely a pure conqueror, but wanted to become a true ruler.
Although both roles seemed to carry immense ambition, there was a fundamental difference.
Like Darkseid in the past, wherever Apokolips's legions went, they brought only endless plunder and destruction.
But Zod now wanted him to mediate the conflicts, which clearly meant he wouldn't just resort to violence for everything.
Resolving conflicts was not a difficult task for him.
After all, even Darkseid was dead now, and with a terrifying existence like Zod suppressing everyone, he believed no one would dare to easily offend.
After realizing he could not resist, the Father quickly adjusted his mindset.
"I understand, Your Majesty. May I return to New Genesis first? I'm worried that if I don't return for a long time, Orion and the others might do something impulsive."
Zod was naturally very clear about this point.
However, letting him go back just like that was not so simple.
Immediately, Zod raised his hand and condensed several Restriction runes in front of him, then sent them towards the Father.
Seeing this, the Father instinctively felt resistant and subconsciously wanted to resist.
But Zod's voice rang in his ear: "Don't resist. I will plant something in your Soul as insurance. I will remove it for you once your work satisfies me."
Hearing this, the Father felt a trace of humiliation in his heart, but in the current situation, he had no other choice.
Thus, he could only completely abandon resistance, allowing the runes to integrate into his Soul without any hindrance.
Seeing his look of resigned acceptance, Zod said calmly: "There's no need to feel humiliated. One day you will be glad for your choice."
"After all, compared to living as a shadow, by following me, you have the hope of becoming an independent individual."
Zod's words were naturally not meant to deceive him, as he now possessed the ability to open paths to other great worlds.
As long as they were willing to leave this world, they could completely sever ties with their main body in the Fourth World and become truly independent intelligent life forms, though whether they would lose their power as a result was unknown.
Of course, if Zod were to gain the power to slay their main bodies in the future, then it would not be impossible for them to replace their original true forms.
Upon hearing this, the Father's expression suddenly froze, then took on a look of disbelief.
He opened his mouth and said, somewhat tremblingly: "You know?"
"Of course, I know more about the truth of this world than you imagine, whether it's you or Darkseid, including the true New Genesis and Apokolips that exist outside the Universe."
As these words left his mouth, the Father trembled all over.
