Chapter 150 - Witnesses to the Heart

Brush and Hikaru's kiss lingered, full and unrestrained, the weight of battles and near-death experiences fueling the intensity. The wooden wagon seemed to shrink around them, the world outside momentarily forgotten.

From the corner of his vision, he noticed Daji and Jaki Onna.

Daji's ears twitched nervously, her face a mix of shock and embarrassment. She tried to look away but couldn't quite, her tail flicking anxiously as she muttered under her breath, "I… didn't expect this…"

Jaki Onna, on the other hand, leaned lazily against the side of the wagon, beer bottle in hand, grinning drunkenly. "Ohhhh… I see what's going on here," she slurred, voice loud enough to draw the tiniest frown from Hikaru. "Cute, cute! Didn't think Brush could handle that, huh?"

Hikaru, still pressed against Brush, shot them a glare sharp enough to make even Jaki pause mid-drink. "Not now," she hissed, voice low but deadly. "Some things are… private."

Brush chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face, feeling the warmth of the moment. "It's fine… they're just… watching," he whispered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Daji blushed furiously, looking anywhere but at the two of them, while Jaki Onna simply raised her bottle in mock salute. "Don't mind me," she said, still grinning. "Carry on, lovebirds."

The moment was strange, chaotic, and oddly comforting. In the middle of the ever-growing threats — Dark Gods, Blackmail, and the Dark Web itself — this tiny, human moment reminded them all what they were fighting for.

Brush and Hikaru finally broke apart, cheeks flushed, hearts racing, and even as Daji and Jaki Onna whispered, gawked, or rolled their eyes, the bond between the Chosen One and his legendary samurai had just been cemented further.

And somewhere in the back of Brush's mind, Charybidia's icy gaze lingered, waiting for the next battle, oblivious to the messy, human warmth that just unfolded.
