<><><> JULY <><><>
Gustaph, meanwhile, is in a hangar where he receives the cocaine and hands over another adulterated shipment. The man Minos sent, gives him an envelope with an address before leaving.
By the time Tadeus receives the call from his accomplice, he sees Edwin Singer's arrest on the news.
"In the last few hours, the billionaire businessman, owner of Singer Textile Industries and Pola clothing stores, has been arrested on alleged charges of money laundering and human trafficking."
— Who? — Tadeus replies as the call persists.
— You need to get away from Alexander before the handoff.
— Gustaph? Is that you, Gustaph? Where are you?! — he mutters under his breath, expecting the moment Alexander comes out of the bathroom — I'm so sorry about what happened; I shouldn't have provoked him.
— Don't blame yourself. He overheard the call, and with his men stepping on my heels, it was almost impossible to make a clean getaway.
— I received… a box… with a photo of your late husband. Do you know anything about that? — Tadeus hears the shower stop before the sob on the other end of the line — Are you still there, Gustaph? Where are you? We have to meet up to figure something out. There has to be a way. Gus, are you still there? — He hears the bathroom door open and sets his phone aside — They arrested Pola's owner for money laundering.
— When things like that happen, it's because of a conflict of interest. That's how deals go wrong and confidentiality is lost — Alexander dries his hair with one of the towels — Who were you talking to?
— I tried calling my sister again, but her number is still out of service – he notices Alexander's skeptical grin before turning toward the closet — You don't believe me. Don't you trust me?
— I'm still trying.
— If you're going to scrutinize everything I say, we might as well just end this…
— I beg your pardon? — Alexander looks back into Tadeus' eyes.
— I don't want to keep going like this…
— What do you mean?
— I don't like that every time I get a call or someone approaches me, you add that to the list of reasons why you don't trust me.
— Do you think I can't tell when you're lying? — Alexander snorts to keep the tears from welling up in the corners of his eyes as he watches him stand up.
— Let's take a break.
— How dare you say that to me? – Tadeus pulls his suitcase out of the closet and starts packing his clothes — Where are you going? Do you already have someone waiting for you outside the hotel? — Alexander kicks the suitcase and grabs him by the arm.
— I'm going to the airport.
— They already know you're here, that must be it.
— Let go of me — says to break free from his grasp.
— We're not going to break up just because you're scared — Alexander takes a deep breath and places a hand on the back of Tadeus' neck — Stop running away. Don't listen to the threats, stay with me. I'll protect you — Tadeus looks down, and Alexander leans in, pressing their foreheads together. "I'd do anything for you," he whispers against Tadeus' lips before kissing him.
Next day, Strauss meets with the Raptis. — Cousin, how are you? — Egan shakes his hand and offers him a cigarette, which he declines.
— Where's Bastián? — Alexander follows Egan's gaze toward the man approaching them.
— It's about time you showed up. Last time, we were left waiting — Bastián hugs him.
— You know I also oversee my company's medical research.
— You're right on time, I'll give you that — says Bastián.
Egan steps forward toward the gate, where the small plane is approaching. A couple of men point to the landing area, while another half-dozen take care of unloading the cargo. Alexander approaches the cockpit area, where he greets Minos. — After this, I need you to find out what they have against Singer. Maybe if we get him out of this, we can do business with him.
— Consider it done — says Minos.
— Time for the test — says Egan. The Greek pulls a pocketknife from his jacket, makes a diagonal cut down the middle of one of the bags, and uses his little finger to test the powdery substance — This is flour.
Alexander looks at Minos, who shakes his head with an expression that, as far as one can tell, is confused, but the man was wise to hide his hands behind his waist — And this… This is a damn pound of powdered sugar! — Egan laughs.
Bastián joins his brother's laughter and steps forward to test both packages, but his brother wasn't lying — But cousin, what is this?
— Impossible — Alexander steps closer — It can't be. He looks at Minos as he tastes the sweetness on his tongue.
— Sir, we picked it up from the kitchen right on time, just as you ordered. No one else was there. Just the cook and me — says Minos.
Egan pulls out his gun and immediately aims it at the older man. — You were there the last time the chip was found in the shipment.
— Someone must have stolen the shipment on the way here. It's impossible for everything that was cooked to have just vanished — Alexander argues.
— Clearly.
— I thought Minos was your right-hand man.
— Again? — Egan says, pointing his gun at Alexander's chest.
— Έι, έι…! Έγκαν, πρέπει να πρόκειται για λάθος στην αποστολή "Hey, hey…! Egan, this must be a shipping error" — Bastián steps between the two to get his brother to lower his gun.
— Αλλά αν αυτός κατηγορεί εμάς ότι κλέψαμε "But if he's accusing us of stealing…"
— Ελέγξτε όλα τα πακέτα! "Check every single package!" — Bastián orders, then turns to the Animal — If it's all sugar, the real shipment must arrive today.
Meanwhile, Gustaph arrives by light aircraft on a remote island where, together with the pilot, he unloads all the packages and sends a message to Egan with the coordinates; he sends another message to the Gray Coyote. Afterward, he removes the SIM card, tears it to pieces, and throws it into the sea — Now all we can do is wait — says Gustaph with his feet in the water.
Hours pass, but there's no sign of another plane carrying cocaine crystals on its way. — There's no point in waiting any longer, there's nothing but kilos of sugar for desserts in those bags! I told you we should distance ourselves, that sooner or later this was going to happen — Egan argues.
— What about our deal, Animal? — says Bastián.
— He's careless, he can't be trusted anymore! — Egan pulls out his gun again, and Animal does the same — We can still get what we need some other way, believe me, brother.
— I'm starting to think you planned this, cousin. None of the rest of us in this room knew about the dates, the tracking locations, or the cargo inspections — says Animal.
— It was a mistake to limit ourselves to doing business only with him — says Egan before firing.
The Animal manages to dodge the bullet by ducking, and fires back to buy himself time to take cover behind some boxes. Members of both men's security teams open fire— Sir, come with me — one of the bodyguards says to Animal, who manages to shoot a couple of men from his position. They run crouched down among the piles of boxes and airplane parts in the hangar until a bullet pierces the guide's head. The Animal reacts quickly, landing a shot in Bastián's forehead, but falls to the ground after being hit by a bullet in the chest.
