The Blue Continent. At one end lay the vast, Boundless Ocean, and at the other stood the impassable Benimus Mountain Range. Of course, both ends could be crossed, but doing so required either an extremely powerful cultivation base or an expeditionary force heavily prepared and equipped with advanced technology.
The origin of these two names remained unknown. They had been called by these names for a very long time, and though researchers had their theories, they were merely theories with highly questionable validity. Nonetheless, these two extremes represented the boundaries of the Blue Continent.
To the North and South lay glacial regions. Beneath the northern glacial region resided barbaric, nomadic communities. Their mental stability was severely lacking, and it was said that the exotic fruits they fed on in the region put them into strange psychological states. Neither did they descend to the south, nor did those in the south venture there.
Beneath the Northern Nomadic Communities were established duchies and independent factions composed of a few small but autonomous cities. Although these people were separate from the nomadic tribes, they still had access to those exotic fruits. Due to the positive effects of these fruits on cultivation, many unstable individuals existed among them as well. If one of the chaotic kingdoms further south decided to wage war against them, they could instantly unite and reach a state capable of challenging those kingdoms. However, they were highly scattered and disorganized, defending themselves solely through the absurdly powerful experts among them.
The Forgotten Kingdom covered a broader seasonal region. Roughly 30% of the Lake of Oblivion's shoreline belonged to the Forgotten Kingdom. It shared a coast with four of the 12 Chaotic Kingdoms. Generally speaking, when looking at the 12 Chaotic Kingdoms, the Forgotten Kingdom was enveloped by them like a crescent moon. On the other side lay the Lake of Oblivion. In the past, because the Forgotten Kingdom was a Divine Kingdom, these chaotic kingdoms would never dare to fight it, but it had been a long time since the Forgotten Kingdom fell to the status of a normal kingdom. Although it was stronger than an average kingdom on average, there was a reason why the chaotic kingdoms were called chaotic.
The Chaotic Kingdoms were located to the west of the Forgotten Kingdom. To their west lay the Fuimura Islands—countless large islands scattered apart. If they were a unified landmass, they would occupy an area even larger than the 12 Kingdoms. They only possessed island-based administrations, but their cultures were similar. Recently, they had been unified by the Heart Temple, and calls to march eastward were rising among them.
To the east of the Forgotten Kingdom lay a Divine Kingdom that occupied more than 60% of the Lake of Oblivion's shoreline. It was the largest kingdom on the Blue Continent and stretched all the way to the Benimus Mountain Range. In the past, there were other kingdoms in the vicinity, but this Divine Kingdom had swallowed them all.
To the south of the Forgotten Kingdom lay one of the 12 Chaotic Kingdoms, and below it were two large, separate Divine Kingdoms. They had been at war with each other for many years, though the warfare was not very active. Below them, right before the glaciers, was a massive river possessing the strongest current on the Blue Continent. This river extended small river branches to many points within the continent.
This was the political distribution of the Blue Continent. Now, let us move on to the internal order of the Forgotten Kingdom itself.
The Forgotten Kingdom was divided internally into 7 States. The Golden State, the Bosua State, the Central State, the Luna State, the Ageria State, Wine Island, and the Outer State.
The Bosua State, as previously mentioned, was ruled by the Bosua family. It used to be a kingdom, but while the Forgotten Kingdom was still a Divine Kingdom, they were conquered, and their family's cultivation bloodline was diluted. For this reason, the descendants of the family today generally did not produce geniuses worthy of a royal lineage. In the current situation, there were no living members of the family except for Bekko, who had fled to the Golden State, and Suiren, the current State Lord. All of Suiren's siblings had been slaughtered by him, and the generations before them had not reproduced very well either. At present, the Bosua family was known to be the weakest State Family.
But was Suiren the weakest State Lord? This topic left a bit more room for debate. Suiren had taken a bride from the family of every single Lord and even from the Ascended of the state, forcibly binding those families to himself. Not only that, but many of the daughters of these families were already pregnant. This created an opportunity for them to have an heir to Suiren and even claim the state lord seat for their own families. Therefore, as much as they disliked this method, they did not unite to attack Suiren; they remained loyal to him. The royal court was also displeased with Suiren because of this method. Even his killing of his siblings had infuriated them, and on top of that, this. However, concluding that the royal bloodline of the Bosua family was already dead, they acted somewhat leniently. Furthermore, if they were forced to enter a war with the 12 Chaotic Kingdoms, the Bosua State was on the border. Suiren could never grow powerful enough to rebel.
If necessary, when one of the children grew up, they would strip Suiren of his State Lordship and replace him with his son. In fact, if Bekko, who had fled to the Golden State, showed noteworthy loyalty and talent, they might even make him the State Lord. Suiren would certainly fight against this, of course, but it would be a war he could not win. Still, during such a period, a civil war could cause terrible repercussions for the Forgotten Kingdom. Therefore, despite all these circumstances, they tolerated Suiren. Suiren knew this too; that was why he was so bold. No matter how cruel Suiren was, everything he did worked. Suiren had been the most talented leader to take charge of the Bosua State in a long time.
Moving on to the Central State, this region consisted of four cities sharing a coast with the Lake of Oblivion. One of these four cities was the Royal City, and another was Gamma City. There is no need to rush into describing the other two cities.
The largest state in the Forgotten Kingdom was the Luna State in the north. This place was ruled by a powerful State Family that stuck like a thorn in the side of the royal court: the Mond Family. They were one of the 9 most powerful factions in the Forgotten Kingdom, and you can be sure they were not the weakest. The Mond family had been in the north for a very long time, and tearing them away from the Luna State was quite literally impossible. There was never any conflict between them and the Virgo Dynasty either, but their sheer size alone caused tension. They were like a snake in its burrow, ready to strike at any moment.
On the other side of the Golden State lay the Ageria State. It was in the southeastern part of the Forgotten Kingdom, on the shores of the Lake of Oblivion. It was similar to the central region but was generally an agricultural area. The population was about half that of the kingdom, but the ratio of cultivators was not that high. The people produced the kingdom's food, and it could be considered a fairly peaceful region. The worries there were more ordinary. The State Lord of Ageria was an individual named Bizon. It was not a family. In the past, there was a family that ruled this State, but they had long since dried up and withered away. In Ageria, State Lords were chosen through a master-disciple system, and the disciple strictly had to be from Ageria. While similar to Plain City, it was much more orderly. The disciple was particularly recognized by the prominent figures of the state and had to be approved by them. Otherwise, the State Lord might prefer to send him to the capital and raise another disciple to become the State Lord. Chaos was not well-received in this state. Therefore, consensus was crucial.
Wine Island was considered the smallest state. It was a partially large island within the Lake of Oblivion and was initially connected to the Central State, but Wine Island was far too independent and distant from the region. It was quite difficult to accept it as one with the Central State. Therefore, the 7th state was born. Generally, the power of the island was in the hands of the 4-Leaf Guild, and the island was considered an entertainment and trade zone. Individuals would come here not only from the Forgotten Kingdom but also from the Divine Kingdom to the east and the 12 Chaotic Kingdoms. The 12 Chaotic Kingdoms possessed coastal lands to the north and south of the Lake of Oblivion. Thanks to this, they could conduct water trade to their own internal regions. At same time, they could access Wine Island and many other islands of the Divine Kingdom to the east.
Finally, the Outer State shared its origins with the barbarian community in the north. It is said that a barbarian named the Sober Hero, along with his troops, broke through the Scattered Duchies, fought the Chaotic Kingdom, and settled in this region. This region, which used to be the northwest of the Forgotten Kingdom, belonged to one of the Chaotic Kingdoms. After the Sober Hero conquered this place, he submitted to the Forgotten Kingdom without any war. Afterward, his child became the State Lord, and so it continued. The Outer State was still somewhat marginalized within the Forgotten Kingdom, but the royal family never pressured them, nor did they exclude them. Everyone knew they were afraid that the Sober Hero was still alive.
The Golden State is just as you know it. It is ruled by the Navan Family and is a major mining region. It possesses 10 cities, hundreds of towns, and countless villages. I will set aside the previously mentioned Plain City, Yellow City, Red River City, and Golden State City. Crystal Fortress is a city structure comparable to Golden State City and serves as the kingdom's Energy Crystal mine. Therefore, it is protected by powerful experts. Entertainment City is powerful, though slightly weaker than Plain City. The other four cities are, respectively, South Border City, Pumpkin City, Sumera City, and Central Garrison City. All of them were cities with their own unique characteristics.
