Chapter 351 - Chapter 351: Courtroom Defense (Part 1)

As Yuu Hoshimiya drove home, Yukiko continuously pressed him with questions all the way.

"Yuu-kun, what new evidence did you find? Tell me quickly!"

But Yuu simply wouldn't say, frustrating Yukiko so much she could grind her teeth.

When the two returned to 2601, which was Eri Kisaki's home and office, Eri happened to step out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe.

"Oh? What did you two run off to do?"

Yukiko smiled and said, "Investigating a case, of course! You've been staying up late these past few days, and even had SEX all night last night, so we didn't call you."

Hearing such explicit words, Eri subconsciously recalled the madness of last night, especially when Yuu forced her and Ran to call him "Daddy" together...

A blush spread across her snow-white face. She shot Yukiko an embarrassed and annoyed glare, then decisively changed the subject.

"You guys just went to investigate a case. Did you find anything?"

Yukiko said proudly, "Of course! With this young lady leading the charge, we naturally found many clues."

Hearing this, Eri hurriedly pressed, "What clues?"

How would Yukiko know? She could only shake her head back and forth, pretending to be mysterious as she said, "It's a secret, a secret. If I say it out loud, it won't work anymore."

Yuu looked at Yukiko with amusement, then said, "Aunt Eri, let me appear in court tomorrow as a special defense counsel."

With that, how could Eri not understand?

Yukiko's "it won't work if I say it out loud" was purely because she didn't know; the one who truly found the clues was Yuu.

After Eri nodded in agreement, she couldn't help but ask curiously, "Yuu, are you confident? How confident are you in getting the charge reduced to manslaughter?"

"Not confident at all."

Both women turned their heads, looks of confusion on their faces.

Yuu chuckled, "Because it should be changed to a theft charge!"

Huh???

Eri grew even more curious about what clues Yuu had found, but Yuu deliberately kept them in suspense and ultimately didn't say.

Eri was fine with it. Seeing that Yuu wouldn't tell, she didn't press the issue; she'd know tomorrow anyway.

But Yukiko, that tormenting little goblin, wasn't so easily dismissed. Yuu had to make an excuse to leave the house.

"Alright, Aunt Eri, Yukiko, I have something to take care of at the MPD. Don't wait up for me for dinner."

Yuu stood up and walked toward the door.

Yukiko wanted to follow, but worried that Yuu really did have official business, she finally gave up.

...

It was almost time to clock out. Naturally, Yuu wouldn't actually go to the MPD.

Half an hour later, the black Lexus arrived in front of the Miyano sisters' small villa.

As soon as he got out of the car, Yuu's deep eyes nonchalantly scanned the surroundings before he opened the front door and walked in.

He didn't come here entirely to avoid Yukiko's persistent harassment; he genuinely had business.

Yuu entered the entryway, took off his shoes, changed into slippers, and lightened his footsteps. Crossing the living room, he saw Akemi Miyano focusing on flower arranging in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

The flowers in the vase were arranged in a staggered, orderly manner, already possessing a unique beauty. Only a few flower branches remained on the table.

Yuu couldn't bear to ruin such a tranquil and beautiful scene, so he leaned against the doorway, quietly observing Akemi finishing her flower arrangement.

The wind chimes on the balcony tinkled crisply, the ferns swayed in the wind, the potted plants thrived one by one, and the angel-like beauty in the room focused on her flower arrangement.

A beauty like a painting—this phrase perfectly described the moment.

Akemi scrutinized the last flower branch for a long time before carefully inserting it into the vase. A bright, beautiful smile instantly bloomed on her angelic small face.

Just then, a pair of large hands reached out from behind, instantly wrapping around Akemi's body.

Akemi Miyano's aura immediately turned cold, but upon falling into a familiar embrace and catching a familiar scent, her icy expression suddenly turned gentle and soft, surprise sparkling in her eyes.

Akemi turned her face and smiled. "Yuu-kun, why didn't you tell me when you came in?"

Yuu kissed Akemi's fair little face. "I saw you were almost done arranging the flowers and couldn't bear to interrupt you. Tsk tsk, you really do have some artistic talent!"

Hearing the praise from the man she loved, the usually gentle and mature woman revealed a sweet, happy smile like a little girl.

"Of course. If I hadn't been taken in by the Organization back then, maybe I would be a master flower arranger by now."

"Alright. I heard from Akako and the others that you haven't been opening your flower shop lately? What's going on?"

Nowadays, Akemi Miyano hardly participated in Angel's Wings activities. She simply guarded Ai and the flower shop, living her own peaceful yet happy life.

One reason was that although she used to be an Organization member, her abilities were truly average, and she herself was unwilling to do things in the dark anymore.

The other reason was that Yuu had made an agreement with Ai from the very beginning to let Akemi Miyano live a normal and happy life.

He had plenty of candidates to develop the organization; he didn't need Akemi Miyano.

Yuu naturally had no reason to break his promise and make both Miyano sisters unhappy.

A contract is only a testament to the feelings between both parties, not some kind of controller. Everyday affection and interaction are also extremely important.

The bottom line can be low, but it cannot be non-existent.

Yuu didn't want to, nor was he willing to, use everyone as tools.

He carried Akemi to the sofa and they sat down, their bodies pressed tightly together.

His chin rested on Akemi's shoulder, their heads leaning against each other, whispering sweet nothings, incredibly intimate.

A look of contentment also showed in Akemi Miyano's eyes, her small face slightly flushed. But hearing the question, her azure eyes regained their clarity.

"Yuu-kun, I think I might have been recognized, and it seems to be someone from the Organization."

"Why do you say that?"

"After I learned disguise and voice changing from Kimie, I opened a flower shop near Teitan Elementary School. I usually go to and from school with Ai..."

Akemi paused, a heavy expression appearing on her gentle, pretty face.

"Business was so-so, and there were no incidents. But just a few days ago, a strange man wearing a trench coat, hat, sunglasses, and mask started coming to my flower shop to buy flowers every day."

"I felt something was wrong, so I asked Maya to have someone follow and investigate him, but he always managed to shake them off. In the end, I simply went straight up to him and asked who he was!"

"The man didn't answer and just left immediately, and he hasn't appeared since. However, I can often sense a peering gaze."

"But what's strange is that I actually wear a disguise every day before I go to work. I have no idea how that guy recognized me."

"To be safe, I just temporarily closed the shop."

Yuu frowned. Based on what Akemi said, he felt that person was more likely from the FBI than the Black Organization.

Accurately speaking, it was Shuichi Akai.

With the Organization becoming active again, the FBI and other intelligence agencies in Japan naturally became active as well.

Among them, the FBI was clearly the most active.

And Tokyo is only so big. With Conan at Teitan Elementary School, it was highly probable that the FBI... or rather, Shuichi Akai, would go there.

Akemi Miyano's disguise skills were quite impressive now, but Shuichi Akai was indeed very capable. It was normal for him to notice something.

There was another reason why Yuu leaned toward it being Shuichi Akai.

Within the Organization, the only one who could see through Akemi's disguise was Vermouth.

Because of the mysterious drug Silver Bullet, which was the predecessor of the APTX drug, Vermouth harbored a deep hatred for the Miyano couple who were in charge of its development.

Love me, love my dog; hate me, hate my dog. Her hatred extended to the two sisters, Akemi and Ai.

Especially Ai, who inherited the Miyano couple's research and continued to develop the APTX drug...

Even though Ai had become friends with the angel in her heart, her "white moonlight," Ran, and they were incredibly close, she never gave up the thought of killing Ai.

If she discovered Akemi Miyano was still alive, it was absolutely impossible for her to just let it go quietly.

Moreover, Vermouth's disguise skills were far superior to Akemi's.

If she had disguised herself as a man, why would she need to wear a hat, mask, and sunglasses to hide her face?

Such an unnecessary action simply didn't make sense.

If it wasn't Vermouth, then it could only be Shuichi Akai.

Yuu asked, "Akemi, when did this start?"

"Probably about five days ago."

Five days ago. That roughly coincided with the time the Organization became active again and Gin contacted him.

As soon as the Organization made a move, the FBI, who had been keeping an eye on them, naturally mobilized as well.

After the Full Moon incident, Vermouth was still playing the role of Tomoaki Araide at Teitan High School.

This was also an intentional move by Jodie and the others.

Rather than exposing Vermouth's disguise and driving her into hiding, it was better to keep her under their noses and watch her.

In reality, Vermouth also knew she was being watched.

But she was very confident in herself. It could be said she was playing along to lower the FBI's guard.

When executing Organization missions, she disguised herself as someone else, making it even harder for the FBI to detect her.

This was a mutual arrangement, an open conspiracy; it all depended on whose methods and strength were superior.

And because of Conan, it was very normal for Shuichi Akai to go near Teitan Elementary School.

However, Shuichi Akai might not necessarily have discovered that Akemi Miyano wasn't dead. He might have just felt that the flower shop owner, Ai Haibara (a pseudonym for Akemi's disguise), sounded and looked very similar to Akemi Miyano.

That's why he lingered in the flower shop for so long, reluctant to leave.

Well, that's assuming the brat Conan hadn't told the FBI about Ai's true situation yet.

If the FBI already knew Ai's true identity, then based on the situation of the two sisters, no matter how unbelievable it seemed, Shuichi Akai could deduce that "Ai Haibara" was Akemi Miyano.

But things were different now. Even if Akemi Miyano's identity was exposed, it didn't matter.

Whether it was the Black Organization, the FBI, or the CIA, none of them should even think about touching his people.

Let alone touching them, they shouldn't even entertain the thought!

A hint of danger flashed in Yuu's eyes. His large hand gently stroked Akemi's body, comforting her. "It's okay. I already know who that person is. You might have to meet an old acquaintance later!"

Old acquaintance???

Akemi turned her small face, not understanding what Yuu meant. Her azure eyes were slightly bewildered, blinking as she looked at Yuu, her innocent expression endearing.

The sky gradually darkened. With a beauty in his arms, Yuu, whose energy had been completely restored, looked down at the pretty face in his embrace, flames instantly igniting in his heart.

Without a word, his left hand climbed onto her soft peaks, his right hand gently stroked her soft waist, and he kissed Akemi's small mouth, launching his offensive.

Akemi Miyano instantly felt the familiar hardness and heat pressing against her buttock cleavage. Her gentle, water-like face gradually flushed red.

Then, she responded passionately.

The two bodies rolled into a tangle in the living room.

Yuu pressed down on Akemi's body, admiring those azure eyes that had long melted into pools of water.

The black-haired, mixed-race mature woman felt incredibly shy under his gaze and instinctively closed her eyes.

And no matter how many times it happened, she remained shy and cute. This contrasting demeanor was exactly what Yuu found most exciting and endearing about her.

Yuu lowered his head and passionately sucked and kissed Akemi's small mouth. She kept her beautiful eyes closed, sticking out her small tongue and letting Yuu suck on it, as Yuu caressed her entire body.

After kissing and caressing, he removed the clothes from both their bodies.

In the glow of the setting sun, Yuu admired Akemi Miyano's tempting body.

Soft, beautiful hair, alluring eyes peeking half-shyly, tempting red lips, a delicate body as smooth as jade.

Her fair, tender skin showed an impassioned pinkish-white hue, her round, plump jade peaks accentuating a beautiful, deep, snowy cleavage.

A pink cherry atop each peak trembled precariously, incredibly tempting.

"Yuu-kun, don't look. It's so embarrassing... let's just do it..."

Unable to bear Yuu's gaze, Akemi swayed her snowy peaks while issuing a soft, moaning invitation.

Hearing Akemi's delicate moans, a strong sense of satisfaction arose in Yuu's heart.

He delayed no further, lifting Akemi Miyano's long, fair, beautiful legs, and then forcefully thrust his hips...

Instantly, the room was filled with the colors of spring, and the familiar, stirring Angel's movement played.

The wind chimes on the balcony clashed even more excitedly, the crisp tinkling becoming a musical accompaniment, and the ferns bloomed even more vibrantly!

...

...

Around 9:00 AM the next day, Yuu's car, carrying Eri Kisaki, arrived at the Tokyo District Court, the venue for the trial.

Without Yuu leading her in nighttime exercises, Yukiko had nowhere to vent her energy, so she stayed up late.

She was still in bed right now, refusing to get up, so she hadn't come along.

The two entered the courthouse and arrived at the defense counsel's waiting room.

Seeing that there were still over ten minutes before the trial started, Yuu told Eri he planned to take a walk outside.

Midoriko Nakamori would also be working here, and he intended to see if he could run into her.

Unfortunately, Midoriko Nakamori didn't have a case to prosecute today, so Yuu didn't encounter her.

After taking a lap, just as Yuu was about to head back, he passed by the restrooms and happened to hear someone talking on the phone in the adjacent women's restroom. It was Reiko Kujo's voice.

Yuu's hearing was incredibly sharp; he could clearly hear the voice of the other person Reiko Kujo was talking to.

As soon as he heard that voice, Yuu's eyes lit up. He finally understood why he had felt Reiko Kujo's voice was familiar.

The person on the other end of the phone was Midoriko Nakamori.

And the reason he found Reiko Kujo's voice familiar was precisely because when he talked on the phone with Midoriko Nakamori before, he often heard Reiko Kujo's voice.

Both working at the Tokyo Public Prosecutors Office, it was perfectly normal for the two women to know each other.

But looking at it now, Reiko Kujo and Midoriko Nakamori weren't just acquaintances; they were very, very, very close.

Otherwise, Midoriko Nakamori wouldn't have said those things to him right in front of Reiko Kujo.

Listening to the conversation between the two women now, and recalling the time he had a phone call with Midoriko Nakamori, casually arranging a hookup right in front of Reiko Kujo, Yuu felt both surprised and somewhat excited.

He never expected that the dignified Madonna of the prosecutorial world, the seemingly aloof and proper Reiko Kujo, was actually, at her core, a curious baby incredibly intrigued by the affairs between men and women, longing to be treated roughly by an outstanding man!

Just as Yuu was excitedly considering whether he could use Midoriko Nakamori to skip the conquest phase entirely and directly ask Reiko Kujo out, the phone call in the restroom ended.

Reiko Kujo walked out of the restroom and bumped right into Yuu, who was standing at the door.

Seeing her, Yuu couldn't help but shoot a strange look at this Madonna of the prosecutorial world.

Reiko Kujo wore a gray suit with a dark red lining. Her smooth, long black hair softened her sharp aura somewhat.

Seeing Yuu's gaze, she immediately felt somewhat uncomfortable, as if she had been seen through.

"Consultant Hoshimiya, I heard you applied to be a special defense counsel for this case. It seems you've made some discoveries!"

"Just some superficial insights. Please go easy on me later, Chief Prosecutor Kujo!"

A cold smile appeared on Reiko Kujo's face.

"There is only justice in the courtroom; going easy is impossible. Consultant Hoshimiya, I'm very much looking forward to your performance later!"

With that, Reiko Kujo turned and headed toward the courtroom. She absolutely didn't believe a layman could do a lawyer's job.

Proud as she was, she felt nothing but disdain for Yuu's seemingly boastful behavior!

Yuu also turned and headed toward the waiting room, intending to meet up with Eri.

As he reached the door, he happened to hear someone calling out.

"Yuu-kun!" "Yuu-kun!"

He turned his head to see Midori Kuriyama jogging over, hugging a stack of files.

As Eri's assistant, she naturally had to be present for today's trial.

And she even arrived early, responsible for preparing things.

The secretary lady was also wearing a fiery OL (Office Lady) outfit today.

A white shirt, black short skirt, black stockings wrapping her beautiful legs, and black high heels, outlining her curvy figure.

Just then, the door to the waiting room opened, and Eri's group walked out.

"Midori, is everything ready? Let's go. It's almost time for the second trial to start. We'll go into the courtroom first."

Upon entering the courtroom, Yuu, Eri, and Midori Kuriyama sat at the defense counsel's table, with Yuu sitting between the two women.

Opposite the defense lawyers sat the prosecution's Reiko Kujo and her female assistant.

Eri and Reiko Kujo locked eyes, sparks seemingly flying in the air.

The defendant, Takashi Inoue, sat in the middle of the courtroom, guarded by two police officers.

In the witness stand sat the bald manager Takuya Akiyama, the president's son-in-law Masahiko Arima, and the president's mistress, Noriko Endo.

After everyone was present, three judges entered shortly after. The entire courtroom stood up.

Then the judges took their seats, and everyone else sat down.

The prosecution's Reiko Kujo began to read the indictment.

"At 8:30 PM on the night of the crime, the defendant, Takashi Inoue, broke into the Otsu Real Estate Agency on the second floor of the Nomoto Building to commit a burglary. However, he was discovered by the returning President Otsu, and forced the victim to open the safe by threatening him with a weapon."

"He further struck the victim's head with a glass ashtray from the office, causing the victim's death after three consecutive strikes. Finally, he stole all 12 million yen from the safe."

"The circumstances are severe, and the methods cruel. Therefore, under Article 240 of the Penal Code for Robbery-Murder, this court requests a sentence of life imprisonment."

Next was Takashi Inoue's personal statement, but the old guy only kept repeating that he didn't kill anyone and didn't steal any money; he just ran away.

Eri couldn't help but anxiously tug at Yuu's lapel. At this rate, things were looking very bad!

Opposite them, a smile had already appeared on Reiko Kujo's face.

Yuu straightened his lapel, stood up, and asked, "Mr. Inoue, do you remember the exact time you broke into the office?"

"It was around 8:30 PM!"

"Then when were you discovered by President Otsu?"

"Right after I climbed through the window into the office and arrived at the safe, the door was pushed open. That guy spotted me, and then we started scuffling."

Reiko Kujo frowned.

Yuu chuckled lightly. "According to the testimony of relevant witnesses in the first trial, the time of the crime was indeed after 9:00 PM."

"If I may ask, what kind of scuffle could last for half an hour without messing up the scene in the slightest, leaving not a single trace of a struggle on the bodies of the victim or the defendant?"

Hearing this question, an uproar broke out in the public gallery, the spectators unable to stop themselves from whispering among themselves.

The judge quickly banged his gavel. "Order!" "Order in the court!"

Only when the scene quieted down did Reiko Kujo stand up.

"Objection! This is a one-sided statement from the defendant and cannot be partially trusted."

"Prosecution, please watch your phrasing. The indictment you just read adopted the time of 8:30 PM. I am merely raising an objection based on that, not partially trusting the defendant. If the prosecution believes this objection is insufficient to be trusted, you may summon the witness, Takuya Akiyama."

Reiko Kujo choked on her words and sat back down fiercely.

The judge looked at the two of them and said, "Objection overruled! Summon the witness, Takuya Akiyama."

Takashi Inoue was led back to the side seat, and the center seat was taken by the bald manager, Takuya Akiyama. Yuu also sat down, and Reiko Kujo began her questioning.

Eri whispered, "You're really something, Yuu."

Yuu, back in his seat, placed his large hand over Eri's flesh-colored stockings and whispered back, "I have even more impressive tricks!"

Eri's face instantly flushed slightly. She gently swatted Yuu's large hand. "You brat, do you want to die? Let go quickly. This is a courtroom; be serious."

But pushing his luck was exactly Yuu's nature.

"What if I don't want to be serious?"

Eri was already somewhat regretting letting him be the special defense counsel, but there is no medicine for regret in this world.

She pleaded in a whisper, "Yuu, don't do this. You can do whatever you want when we get back. This is a courtroom; if anyone finds out, I won't have the face to see anyone."

Seeing Eri like this, Yuu finally let go of his hand, chuckling softly. "You said it yourself. You have to be obedient when we get back!"

Their heads were very close; anyone who didn't know better would think they were discussing the case.

Yuu didn't listen to a single word of Reiko Kujo's questioning. He looked up and saw Reiko Kujo still questioning, while Midori Kuriyama beside him was earnestly taking notes.

With a thought, Yuu placed his other hand on the black stockings.

Midori Kuriyama instantly shuddered, her handwriting going crooked. She turned her head jerkily, bit by bit.

How can Yuu-kun be so bold?

This is a courtroom!

If we're discovered, the penalty for contempt of court is huge!

As the stimulation became increasingly obvious, Midori Kuriyama's small face turned red. To prevent others from seeing, she simply lowered her head.

Yuu gently traced words on Midori Kuriyama's black stockings until the judge spoke again, "Defense, please cross-examine the witness!"

Only then did he let go, pretending to hold a book as he walked to the center of the court.
