He chuckled softly, the sound rich and affectionate, and rolled us slightly so I was more fully draped over him. His arms enveloped me completely, one hand rubbing slow circles between my shoulder blades.
"Language...and be patient, my love," he murmured against my temple, his breath warm. "I definitely will make you mine forever. But not tonight, not in the heat of everything we've already shared. When I bond you, I want it to be intentional, something we both savor with clear hearts. You're already mine in every way that matters. The mark will come when the time is right."
I nodded against his chest, contentment settling over me like a soft veil. We talked more then, voices low and flowing like a gentle stream.
