Eric had decided to join the Serenity's Codex for many reasons.
The main reason was the immense amount and variety of resources they had. He alone was the member who was an Aura user here. It was obvious that he would be able to use these resources for his use for quite some time.
He can also cooperate here with Father Irenaeus and the thousands of Angel Spirits much better than any other organization.
He may not trust the Church of Sereni- No, the Serenity's Codex much, but he didn't trust the other great bodies even more.
When comparing them, the former was obviously a much better choice than the latter.
More sincerity had also been shown by them when compared to the great bodies.
He was also being welcomed here with open arms. He felt that it was best to stay and cooperate with them rather than avoid or try to run.
He might get into danger due to this, but it was much better than being chased down and killed.
The difference between their strengths was too much.
If Father Irenaeus could willingly give a Rank 0 Relic to Eric, then he could kill him as easily, too.
Eric wanted to raise his strength for this Paris operation as quickly as possible, and the Church of Serenity was an opportunity that he knew he would regret if he didn't make full use of it.
"Then let's set the agreement up." Father Irenaeus said as he stood up from his seat, using all the strength he could muster.
This was the first time that Eric had seen Father Irenaeus stand up.
Seeing his wobbly steps and weak posture, Eric felt a little pity for him but also some wariness.
Father Irenaeus got in front of the black altar and took out a vial of Holy Water.
Holy Water was the most common material of the Goodness Pathway.
He gestured for Eric to come and stand in front of him.
Eric did what he was gestured to as he walked towards Father Irenaeus and stood in front of him.
Eric was much taller than Father Irenaeus. He had to look down at him.
Father Irenaeus whispered in the air softly as a teenage Angel Spirit appeared and handed Eric a charm.
This charm was used to set up an agreement. Eric took this charm and looked at the agreement conditions.
They were quite loose. The conditions mentioned that Eric had to do at least one mission from the mission board once a week. He will have a lot of freedom and can't be ordered around by anyone.
Unless it is necessary, Eric won't have to follow any orders.
Even if the Church of Serenity were to be destroyed, he could choose to leave or not even participate.
His role will be that of the Co-leader, while Father Irenaeus will be the grand priest of the organization.
In exchange for all of these, he would be given many benefits.
In fact, as the Co-leader, he can even take some resources from the treasury for free.
He can also lend resources and materials at a much lower interest rate.
All in all, these conditions were very good and beneficial to him, but Eric still couldn't help but feel worried in his heart. He knew this one day might turn back on him and harm him.
But that is for the future; Eric is weak and needs to become stronger. He has to take these risks.
Which thing in this world does not require risks?
Eric instilled his Meditation Aura and a drop of his blood on the charm before passing it to Father Irenaeus. who did the same with the charm as the agreement was accepted and the alliance was made.
The Teenage Angel Spirit then took out three charms: two black bull-horn-shaped and one white heart-shaped.
These three charms would be used by Eric to be able to see the mission board, connect, and send messages to the Serenity's Codex and teleport to the church of Serenity at a crucial time.
Eric accepted them as these three charms entered his body and melted inside his body, as a white light halo appeared around him, and soon got absorbed by him.
These charms can now be used by Eric without needing to instill Meditation Aura in them.
This would have caused some harm to his body, but he was a Lysi Nova, while the charms were low-level interferences in his body.
The harm they could cause would be negligible.
There would have been no harm if these charms were of the Energy pathway.
After Eric became an official member, the teenage Angel Spirit disappeared as two Adult Angel Spirits wearing dark, black hoods that hid their bodies appeared behind him, holding a big, white, thick, and baggy cape with a silver-shaped cross earing symbol on the back.
They put the cape on his shoulders before disappearing.
This cape was very long and touched the ground.
Eric had never liked clothing like this. He touched the soft cape as he said, "Is this really necessary? I do not like clothes like these much."
Father Irenaeus didn't bother with Eric's discomfort in his clothing as he walked past him and said in an aged voice: "Come, let me show you something."
Father Irenaeus soon walked near the confession room in the top right corner of the room.
Eric had been in that room before.
Father Irenaeus didn't enter it but walked to the wall beside it and put his hand on the wall.
Soon, A white light came out of his hand as it entered the wall, and a black door appeared.
The door was pitch black; no light reflected from it.
The door was slowly opened with a creaking sound as a black space was revealed.
The inside of the door was nothing but a blank, silent, lifeless black space.
There was a white line around the ground of the room in a square shape, which marked the room's size.
Overall, it was a huge room, almost as huge as a football stadium.
Eric's body shook as he felt great happiness in his heart.
"This is... a training chamber!"
A training chamber is a special space that is used to train and practice Aura techniques.
It can also be used to meditate and recover.
It can also serve as a quiet and safe environment for an Aura user to stay and conceptualize some charms, relics, rituals, formations, and Aura techniques.
The training chambers, in essence, were a formation. Every training chamber had a different purpose to serve. Be they training, recovery, conceptualizing, or practicing Aura techniques.
These training chambers had different names for different uses.
Those were:
Convergence Chamber, for meditation, deep thinking, and Aura alignment.
Resonance Hall For: training and mastering techniques.
Restoration Sanctum For: healing, recovery.
Insight Nexus For: conceptualizing new techniques, Advancements
Pressure Chamber For: combat training under extreme stress.
Eric had always wanted a training chamber of his own when he first came to know about their existence when he was thirteen, but reality soon slapped him as he realized that only those rich Aura users who have royal families behind them could afford to have one of their own.
While he can't even rent one out.
But now, through a twist of fate, He was getting his childhood wish fulfilled.
Eric was naturally curious but waited for Father Irenaeus to take him inside.
Eric hesitated for a few seconds before entering the room.
It was dark everywhere he could see.
"This is a training combination, which is the combination of a Restoration Sanctum and a Resonance hall. You can fight here and master your Aura techniques while also being able to heal and even meditate here."
Meditation was allowed in every training chamber; it was just that it had a much better effect in a Convergence hall.
Entering inside, Eric felt all kinds of pressure get off of him as his body became light, and he felt the natural aura permeating around him.
This natural aura in the chamber would help his natural aura recovery increase much faster than usual.
Eric was not eager to train his Aura techniques. He already had a set made up long ago, which he had already perfected. He was unable to display it fully back when he was ambushed because he had long lost the initiative and had to start acting to survive and win.
"Max would have loved this place." At this moment, Eric wished that Max could also come here. He knew how much Max liked to fight. This place would have been perfect for him.
After taking a quick look, Eric left the training chamber; he had plans to use it later.
He then closed his eyes and looked at the mission board.
There were quite a few missions in the mission board with varying contribution points as rewards. Most of them were about helping people, while some were about killing a beast or finding some material.
These missions were what Eric could do and go to, which made sense because he was the only member right now. The missions had to be set up for him.
Obviously, there were some he couldn't do, but it didn't really matter, as these missions were just kept for the future.
Eric realized that a mission with the least rewards was filling the Imerator's cross good deeds, which he was already doing. He at least has a constant source of contribution points, but it was too slow.
"It looks like I have to put some effort into 'The Helping Beggars'."
Out of all the missions, one mission really intrigued Eric for some reason.
"Help Lady Isebela out of her predicament."
Eric had heard of this person before. She was a famous prostitute in the layer of the Meditation realm, which he used to go to and get news now and then.
The Meditation realm had many districts, and one of them was the red light district. This was the place where Men go to relieve their urges.
Eric had never been to that place. He was not interested in sexual desires, plus he had his own stuff to explore and do. He couldn't bother to go to a prostitute and just engage in some petty desires.
Eric had heard some rumors about her here and there and about how she got a rare sexually-transmitted disease and was gonna be thrown out.
"Maybe I can go and help, but I have to be clear of the situation."
Eric soon kept the mission in the back of his mind as he took his consciousness out of the charm inside his body.
Just then, Father Irenaeus, who had walked up to his left side, said with a slight smile, "Last time, when you came, I gave you a Rank 0 Relic. Continuing the tradition, I will tell you something very hidden and comprehensive secret."
Eric's interest was immediately piqued as he looked down at Father Irenaeus.
Father Irenaeus continued: "Do you know about the second type of Domain Cards?"
