Chapter 130 - Hop On.

Rain's POV:

I toss the handset onto the duvet and collapse onto the mattress, my body sinking into the heavy linens. Every muscle in my frame groans in protest, still radiating the dull ache of yesterday's "physical pursuit."

The impact of hitting the bed sends a jolt through my spine, a sharp reminder of the intensity of what we shared yesterday.

The replay of last night's wreckage is looped behind my eyes, and the pressure in my skull is building into a full-blown migraine.

Last Night

"I don't understand why you need to do this at all."

"Do this? What do you mean, 'do this'?"

"Like why—"

"Are you accusing me of something, Dane?"

"That's not what I said, Rain. Stop trying to twist my words."

He had paced the room like a caged wolf, the floorboards creaking under his weight.

"First it was Voss, and now this boy."

"You still haven't let me speak to Voss. His number isn't even in my handset anymore. You deleted it, didn't you?"
