Next, he continued his journey with the Three-Tailed.
They followed the edge of the crater, the path lined with white flowers.
The open terrain allowed them to clearly see many domain creatures roaming or battling across the plains.
After walking for an unknown duration, the landscape began to transform.
The white floral tide receded, and the land ahead appeared scorched by a great fire, stretching for miles in a charred black expanse.
In the skies above this region, countless spiritual lifeforms floated.
These spirit bodies varied in color and shape, some even resembling weapons.
They drifted silently through the air, swaying with the wind.
In addition to these spiritual lifeforms, numerous white bubbles floated in the air.
The bubbles were translucent white, with pale blue liquid flowing inside.
He reached out and touched a passing bubble.
Pop!
The bubble suddenly burst, its blue liquid rapidly evaporating and transforming into a golden light that merged into his body.
It felt like drinking ice water on a scorching summer day, leaving him completely refreshed.
Simultaneously, golden liquid surged into his sea of consciousness from nowhere.
Realizing these bubbles were also living beings, and that killing them amplified his mental energy, he immediately turned his attention to the remaining "bubbles."
His telekinesis extended outward, forming invisible tendrils that began puncturing the bubbles across the area.
With each resounding pop, his mental strength steadily increased.
But just then, Three-Tailed let out a sharp cry.
The Narrator's voice echoed in his mind:
Exploration progress has increased. You have entered the domain of unknown spiritual lifeforms... You have attracted the attention of numerous spiritual lifeforms, and they are highly likely to attack. Prepare to flee!
In the sky, spiritual lifeforms of various colors swarmed toward him.
Intense spiritual energy fluctuations filled the air as the sky erupted in vibrant hues. Spiritual Energy Arts rained down upon him like a torrential downpour.
Seeing this, he turned and fled.
Clearly, his act of popping the bubbles had enraged the spiritual lifeforms.
He even suspected that these bubbles might be the offspring of the spiritual lifeforms.
He felt a pang of regret.
At this stage, he hadn't yet acquired the Mental Purification ability, preventing him from accessing memories from the next timeline.
Without it, attempting to do so risked mental breakdown or even collapse.
There were two ways to resolve this issue.
Either find the Mental Purification innate ability, which would permanently solve the problem of accumulating negative emotions.
Originally, he had believed Three-Tailed possessed Mental Purification.
But now it seemed that Three-Tailed's ability was merely a self-cultivated mental countermeasure, unrelated to true Mental Purification.
Moreover, Three-Tailed's ability couldn't be used on him.
Just like his own Blood Source Ability—effective only when used on himself, not on others.
Still, this venture wasn't a loss.
In his view, the effects of Miracle Evolution could infinitely enhance his innate talent potential, providing a tremendous boost to his growth.
Apart from Mental Evolution, the only other path forward was to increase his mental strength.
"Unable to find any innate abilities related to Mental Purification, Mo decided that killing spirit bodies to increase his mental strength was a viable alternative.
Moreover, enhancing his mental strength would also amplify his malevolence, which in turn would strengthen his telekinesis.
He initially believed he had stumbled upon an ideal "leveling ground" for boosting his mental strength, but he quickly realized he had been targeted.
As spiritual lifeforms gathered in the sky and Spiritual Energy Arts rained down, he had no intention of fighting.
To survive, he decisively activated his Blood Source Ability.
In an instant, he transformed into a nearly four-meter-tall Blood Giant, his body engulfed in emerald flames. He immediately turned and fled.
Massive Spiritual Energy Arts crashed against his body, causing the purple patterns on his skin to writhe like living veins.
The Purple Soul's ability activated, granting him partial immunity to energy-based damage.
Yet, the relentless bombardment tore through his back, exposing bone that rapidly began to regenerate.
Scrambling for his life, he dragged the Three-Tailed out of the scorched earth.
Looking back, he saw a massive swarm of white spirit body lifeforms still relentlessly pursuing him.
The Three-Tailed transformed into a streak of light, darting ahead and instantly widening the gap to over ten meters.
After another frantic sprint, he felt his strength failing.
His body's self-healing was draining his qi blood, and he knew he couldn't maintain his Blood Source Form much longer.
Realizing he was likely going to die here, he steeled his resolve.
If I can't escape, I'll take as many of them down with me as possible.
With that thought, he used his psychokinesis to snatch a spirit body lifeform from the sky. Raising his fist wreathed in dark green flames, he slammed it into the creature's body.
Crack!
The spirit body lifeform's defenses were pitifully weak. A single punch shattered its form.
As golden light seeped into his body, his mental strength surged again.
Seeing him locked in a desperate battle, the Three-Tailed, realizing escape was impossible, doubled back and leaped onto his head.
A violet aura erupted from its body, forming a barrier above him.
Countless art magic spells crashed against the barrier, which possessed mental countermeasure properties, instantly dissolving into shimmering motes of spiritual energy.
But the sheer volume of spells was overwhelming. The Three-Tailed held out for barely ten seconds before its form twisted and it dissolved into a violet streak of light, burrowing into his body.
Gazing at the sky teeming with spiritual lifeforms, he continued to manipulate his psychokinesis, seizing and annihilating them one by one.
With each kill, his mental strength grew noticeably stronger.
Without the enhancement from his innate ability, "Purple Soul," he wouldn't have survived even a single wave of the art magic bombardment. His physical stamina was, after all, limited.
As the blood mist around his body dissipated, his Blood Source Form ended.
Just when he thought he was about to die under the relentless barrage of art magic, the Narrator's voice echoed in his mind:
Brother Hei is approaching with his cleaver. Looks like my shift's ending.
He turned to the west and saw a dark cloud sweeping toward him.
The spiritual lifeforms in the sky seemed startled, retreating en masse toward the scorched earth, ceasing their attacks.
As expected of Brother Hei—he commands respect. He hasn't even arrived yet, and he's already scared off a horde of spiritual lifeforms. I wonder when you'll ever have his presence.
Hearing the Narrator's words, he couldn't help but roll his eyes.
Little Black had arrived, making it clear he couldn't stay any longer.
He struggled to his feet.
Before he could even assume a fighting stance, the Narrator's voice rang in his mind:
Desperate Struggle, Second Form! Remember, never lose your momentum!
As the black mist descended, he mentally flipped the Narrator the middle finger.
Opening his eyes, Feng Qi found himself back in reality.
Regaining his composure, he immediately asked, "Narrator, my mental strength has improved significantly. Should I be able to access another Future Line memory now?"
Indeed, your mental strength has increased considerably. It should be fine, but it's best to rest for a few days before accessing another Future Line memory.
"Understood!" Feng Qi nodded in agreement.
He closed his eyes, preparing to immerse himself in his sea of consciousness.
Just as he was about to enter, a purple glow erupted from his chest, and the figure of Three-Tailed materialized before him.
Feng Qi had been about to check if he had brought back the Miracle Token when he saw Three-Tailed appear, and he immediately felt a wave of relief.
He had been wondering whether miracle items could be brought back to reality, as they differed from innate abilities.
If he couldn't bring back Miracle Evolution, he would suffer a tremendous loss. Not only would he fail to gain the Mental Purification ability, but he would also lose a miracle item that could greatly accelerate his growth.
Seeing Three-Tailed appear, he immediately felt relieved.
However, a lingering question remained in his mind:
If the miracle item from the Future Dream Timeline had been retrieved, would the Miracle Evolution from other timelines simply vanish?
Just like domain creatures stripped of their innate abilities, would they disappear completely?
He had no way to answer this question.
After pondering for a moment, he decided to stop dwelling on it.
He looked up at Three-Tailed, who was curiously examining his new surroundings.
"Three-Tailed, cat form!"
Hearing his command, Three-Tailed obediently chirped and twisted his body, transforming into the cat form he had previously configured.
Picking up Three-Tailed, he carefully inspected him for any flaws before nodding in satisfaction.
