Chapter 266 - Chapter 266: Preparing for Battle, Lacus's Gift of Blessing

Everyone nodded at Williams upon hearing his words.

Seeing this, Williams stood up and announced the meeting's conclusion.

"Meeting adjourned!"

After speaking those two words, Williams turned and walked out of the conference room.

Back in his office,

Williams made a call.

After a few beeps, the call connected.

Moonenidy's face appeared on the screen, and his voice came through the speaker.

"What is it, Williams?"

Williams looked at Moonenidy on the screen and explained the entire situation. After listening, Moonenidy pondered carefully before nodding.

"Proceed according to your arrangements!"

Saluting, Williams replied in a loud, clear voice.

"Yes!"

After this response, the communication ended.

Williams lowered his arm and pressed the communicator again, dialing a new call to the Moon.

Athena Bridge

Felix was currently in communication with Patrick.

"Is there really no way to evacuate safely from the Moon?"

Patrick asked, his expression grave and his voice somber.

Felix looked at Patrick and nodded solemnly.

"Yes, Chairman."

Hearing this reply, Patrick fell silent. After a long pause, he spoke.

"Find a way to disengage from the battle. I will send as much reinforcement as I can from my end."

"Understood, Chairman."

After this calm and brief exchange, Felix saw the communication end. He turned to Aric and issued an order.

"Order all units to prepare for battle."

Aric turned to face Felix and replied seriously.

"Yes, Captain."

After hearing this, Felix stood up and walked off the bridge.

In Felix's Room

"Felix, are we going into battle again?"

Lacus looked at the seriousness and gravity on Felix's face and asked with concern in her voice.

Seeing the look on his lover's face, Felix nodded heavily.

"Yes."

Hearing this short reply, Lacus's heart tightened. She clenched her hands, her expression revealing tension and worry.

Seeing how worried Lacus was, Felix smiled slightly and spoke gently.

"I'll be fine."

Hearing this, Lacus looked up at Felix, her eyes full of concern, and said with great worry.

"But I'm still worried about you."

Seeing her so concerned, Felix stepped forward and gave Lacus a big hug. Feeling his embrace, Lacus remained silent but held onto Felix tightly.

She held him so tightly, as if afraid he might disappear the next moment.

Feeling the strength of Lacus's grip, Felix gently patted her back and whispered softly.

"Lacus, I promise you, I will be fine."

Hearing this, Lacus pressed her lips together and nodded lightly.

"Okay."

After saying this, she buried her head tightly against Felix's chest, listening to his heartbeat.

After a long while, Felix released Lacus and reached out to gently pull her arms apart, his hands eventually letting go of her arms to clasp her small hands instead.

"Lacus, it's getting late. I need to prepare for battle."

As he spoke, Felix's eyes held a reluctant gaze, yet his hands still released Lacus's small hands.

Seeing Felix about to turn and leave, Lacus called out to stop him.

"Wait!"

Hearing her voice, Felix paused his steps just as he was about to turn away.

Lacus raised her arms and removed a necklace from around her neck.

A simple, unadorned necklace with a ring hanging from it.

Felix was naturally very familiar with this necklace. He remembered that the ring on it seemed to be her mother's ring.

It was something very important to Lacus.

"Felix, this is the ring my mother left me. I've always worn it." Looking at the ring in her hand, Lacus spoke softly. Then she lifted her head to look at Felix and continued, "Today, I'm giving it to you, hoping it can protect you and keep you safe in my place."

As she spoke, Lacus reached out to put the necklace on Felix.

Watching her movements, Felix calmly cooperated with her actions.

After Lacus finished, Felix reached out, picked up the ring, and examined it carefully.

He looked up at Lacus, his smile gentle and sweet as he said,

"It will definitely protect me."

Replying, Felix set the ring down.

He then removed a very ordinary bracelet from his own wrist, holding it in his hand as he took Lacus's hand.

"Lacus, this bracelet was given to me by my father. I'm giving it to you, so it can protect you in my place."

Saying this, Felix placed the bracelet on Lacus's wrist.

Lacus looked down at the black bracelet on her wrist, feeling both joy and warmth in her heart. She reached out and gently stroked the bracelet, saying to Felix,

"I will definitely treasure it."

Hearing this, Felix gave a faint smile. He glanced at the time and bid farewell to Lacus.

"It's getting late. I need to go to the Hangar to prepare for battle. You should rest well here."

Lacus looked up at Felix, holding the bracelet in her hand, her expression both worried and gentle as she nodded.

"I'll wait for you to return."

Aprilius City District 1

PLANT Supreme Government Office Building

In the Chairman's office

Ezalia, Yuri, and Herman sat quietly opposite Patrick.

Patrick looked at the three who had arrived and explained the contents of Felix's report to them.

After hearing this, the three fell into a heavy silence, their expressions grave.

After a long while, Herman, one of the three, spoke up.

"Zala, given the current situation, I believe we may have no choice but to treat the war on the Moon as our final decisive battle with the Earth Alliance."

"Use that place as the battlefield for the final showdown?" Yuri turned to look at Herman, frowning slightly as he muttered.

Herman turned to Yuri and nodded.

"That's right, we'll make the Moon the battlefield for the final decisive battle."

Replying, Herman took a deep breath and continued.

"If we achieve victory here, we can secure ultimate triumph. If we fail to prevail at this juncture, we can only seek self-preservation to prevent PLANT from being destroyed."

Having spoken, Herman turned to look at Patrick.

Patrick glanced at Herman before shifting his gaze toward Ezalia.

Sensing Patrick's attention, Ezalia looked up at him, pondered for a moment, and then nodded.

"Although the supply lines are quite long, I support Herman's proposal."

While expressing her support, Ezalia paused briefly before continuing.

"Unless we abandon our forces on the moon."
