Keeping his eyes fixed on the battlefield, Kira maneuvered the Freedom Gundam through the air as he questioned Athrun.
Inside the Justice Gundam's cockpit
Athrun piloted the Justice Gundam, evading an attack from the Raider Gundam and countering before replying to Kira.
"I haven't received any orders from the Defense Department to join the fight."
As he spoke, Athrun noticed the situation on Freedom Gundam's flank. He accelerated the Justice Gundam, positioning it beside the Freedom Gundam and raising its shield to block.
After deflecting the attack, Justice Gundam fired a shot.
"The beam is being distorted?"
Watching the attack warp unnaturally, Athrun murmured in shock.
Just then, Kira's warning came through the comms.
"Athrun, these two MS with giant scythes are strange—beam attacks get twisted."
"I've already seen it."
Nodding, the shock on Athrun's face faded, replaced by grim determination as he responded to Kira. Pressing the pedals with his feet, he made the Justice Gundam twist in midair while dodging left.
"Kira, orange, alpha!"
"Understood."
Kira nodded gravely, replying as he worked the pedals and input commands. The Freedom Gundam dodged right while rotating, its beam rifle firing toward the upper right.
Under the barrage, the Raider Gundam swerved left.
"Orga, get off my MS!"
Annoyed by the failed attack, Cloth spoke irritably to Orga. Orga glanced at the situation and replied calmly,
"Just drop me off near the Orb homeland!"
"So demanding!"
Cloth retorted unhappily, steering the Raider Gundam toward Orb territory.
Seeing this, Kira evaded another attack and pursued Cloth and Orga.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Watching the Freedom Gundam's movement, Shani smirked and muttered with amusement, pulling the trigger as he spoke.
The Vulture Plasma Cannon equipped on the Forbidden Gundam Unit 1 fired.
The emitted beam twisted within the Mirage Colloid Magnetic Field, arcing toward the Freedom Gundam.
"Kira!"
Seeing the attack, Athrun called out urgently.
As he tried to maneuver the Justice Gundam to assist, Volo in the Forbidden Gundam Unit 2 also launched a distorted beam attack at Justice Gundam.
The bizarre angle of the assault left Athrun unable to help Kira, forcing him to focus on evading.
After dodging, Athrun anxiously glanced toward the Freedom Gundam, his tension easing slightly upon seeing Kira evade the attack.
"Orga, get off here and now!"
Surveying the situation, Cloth urged impatiently. Without a word, Orga calmly piloted the Calamity Gundam Unit 1 to disengage from the back of the Raider Gundam Unit 1.
Thud!
With a moderate sound, the Calamity Gundam Unit 1 landed on the ground.
The mobile suit shifted, and the two Scylla High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannons on its back fired at the Justice Gundam.
On the other side,
Sheddy piloted the Calamity Gundam Unit 2, descending from the back of the Raider Gundam Unit 2 and standing on the ground to fire at the Freedom Gundam in the air.
In the sky,
Athrun and Kira maneuvered their Gundams to evade the beam attacks from the ground. As they turned their Gundams to fire at the two Calamity Gundams below, two Raider Gundams charged straight at them.
Seeing this, Athrun and Kira simultaneously steered their Gundams to dodge.
The Raider Gundams transformed mid-air, turned, and hurled their maces at the Freedom and Justice Gundams.
Athrun watched the data on his screen, his hands swiftly executing commands. The Justice Gundam dodged left to avoid the mace. Then, Athrun performed another maneuver, separating the Fate-00 Flyer from the main body and sending it charging toward the Raider Gundam. The two Fortissimo Beam Cannons equipped on the Fate-00 Flyer opened fire at the same time.
As the Fate-00 Flyer rushed toward the Raider Gundam, Athrun controlled the Justice Gundam to fire at the Forbidden Gundam Unit 2.
"Deflected again!"
Watching the beam distort, Athrun muttered with a grave expression.

Kira piloted the Freedom Gundam to evade the mace thrown by the Raider Gundam Unit 1. Just as he was about to counterattack, the Forbidden Gundam Unit 1 launched its assault.
Seeing this, Kira had no choice but to steer the Freedom Gundam to dodge the attack, abandoning his strike against the Raider Gundam Unit 1.
"Die!Seeing the Freedom Gundam's movement, Cloth roared wildly and controlled the Raider Gundam Unit 1 to attack with its mace once more.
Observing through the screen, Kira maneuvered the Freedom Gundam to dodge left. Before the mobile suit could stabilize, the Forbidden Gundam fired a twisted beam at the Freedom Gundam.
Forced to react, Kira continued to control the Freedom Gundam to evade.

Deep in the ocean,
Inside the hangar of the submersible carrier,
"Captain Griffith, is it appropriate for us to intervene in this battle?""
"Don't worry, the Chairman won't say anything."
Looking at Jerold's concerned expression on the communication screen, Felix smiled and replied confidently. Hearing this, Jerold fell silent.
Felix then ended the communication.
Sitting in the cockpit of the Genesis Gundam, waiting for the launch authorization, he murmured to himself,
'I never expected such a major turn of events in this battle.'
"Captain Griffith, you are cleared for launch!"
"Understood."
Hearing the report, Felix snapped back to attention and responded calmly over the comm. After his reply, he gripped the control stick tightly, pressed down hard on the pedals, and with a resolute expression, declared while watching the display on the front screen,
"Felix Leo Griffith, Genesis , launching!"
As the last word left his lips, the Genesis Gundam shot out of the submersible carrier. It flew through the water for a moment before bursting through the surface with a splash, soaring toward the airspace ahead.

Earth Alliance Forces, Fourth Maritime Fleet,
On the bridge of the flagship,
"Commander, a high-speed target has been detected approaching from the rear!"
The soldier looked at the radar response and turned to report to the fleet commander. Upon hearing this, a trace of confusion appeared on the commander's face, only to be interrupted by another report.
"It's ZAFT Forces' Genesis !"
"Are ZAFT Forces planning to join the battle?" the fleet commander muttered with a grave expression as he stared ahead, then issued an order. "Engage!"
"Commander, that MS has bypassed us and is heading toward the front lines."
Hearing this, the fleet commander immediately revised his command.
"Cancel the engagement order! Order the rear ships to turn around and conduct a full scan of the rear sea area. Stay alert for enemy attacks from behind!"
"Understood!"
