After the interviewer we were told to wait outside while they evaluate our scores wait we receive our results same day ,I guess the system has changed they don't have time to keep people waiting they know that time is money.just as we were waiting we heard a commotion next door and it sounded heavy one man wearing an all white protection suit came out screaming and fell straight into the floor screaming"Oh my God!!NO!!!I'm not cut out for this!!!"He quickly took off the safety suit and the face mask ,threw it on the floor and ran.Each of us were waiting for the interviewer to show up or atleast an executive but no one came so we quickly looked through the door and it seemed that one of the employees was hanging by a thread at a tank it was really huge,the employee kept on screaming for help but no one seemed to move"Somebody please help me!!I have a family!!I don't want to die!!!im begging you please help me!!!."One person was about to go help but the interview came out and said"This is just a test,he's not really gonna fall so there's no need for you to go.all of you can go inside and get your results."with that he walked away and half of the candidates followed him without question and half of us just stood there hesitant but with time all of them went along ,I tried going with them but I just couldn't stop hearing the screams even if he says the man is fine but his screams says otherwise so I'll just check on him.I quickly ran and picked up the safety suit and put it on as well as the mask,I couldn't put myself at risk because if I did if he really was in need for help ,I would be risking his life as well.I pushed the solid silver door rushing in like a madman and walked through the stairs I could see the crazy looks that everyone was giving me but I didn't care,i wanted to be sure.
When I got inside the man was holding on with one arm and he was slowly slipping"Hold on ,just hold on to me and you'll be okay."I reached out my hand to hold his and although it was a struggle I got him out in time "Thank you!!thank you soo much."His eyes looked greatful and that's all that really mattered ,we got out of the tank room and th interviewer looked at me with dissatisfaction"I already told you he was fine ,what did you want to do play a hero??were you hoping for a medal of some sort??so listening isn't your best trait now is it??"Having a mom who usually shouted all the time taught me that I should know when to answer and when to stay quite.So in this situation I chose to be quite and said nothing, I was sure that I was disqualified already but I loved the fact that I was able to help someone in need.The interviewer looked at all the other candidates and asked only one question and all of them were to answer individually "Let me ask you something.. if you had a daughter or a son and one day you found them hanging by the edge of a cliff that had a stream with a current as strong as a hurricane what would you do??"all of them seemed confused as this isn't a relevant question but none argued"I would run to save my daughter.","I would quickly go and try to save my son.","I would run as fast as the wind to save my child."Each one of them answered in almost the same manner "And what if in that moment someone came to you as your child is hanging by a cliff and told you they're fine just leave them be.what would you do??"Each person had their own expression some were angry ,some were confused"I would still carry on to save my child ,why would I listen to someone else and not care about what I see right infront me."another answered"I would Carry on saving my child and not listen to nonsense.","Why would I leave my child to die when I can actually save her."The interviewer then turned to the man I just saved and looked at them again "Why was it when you saw an employee about to lose their lives you looked the other way and listened to a stranger more than you believed your eyes."they all stayed quite"Your'e all disqualified you failed the practical test , you can go home now."they all look surprised "What but we weren't told that this was a test.it's not our fault ,you're the one who said he was fine and we believed you since you've been here longer."
The interviewer turned to look at the person who just said the statement "When I asked you all right now what you would have done if your children were in danger you told me you'd risk your very own lives to save them.But when a man was in need of help you all turned a blind eye because a person of higher power told you so,if you're able to show such inhumane decency when one person is in danger what kind of employees will you be when more people need help.Corruption is everywhere and you just showed me you're the type that cares only about money and status and not the human life and in this line of work we need people who know the value of life ,someone who's willing to sacrifice the most of themselves without being selfish since so many accidents occur on a monthly basis and you are definitely not what we need."and with that they all walked away with Shame written on their face he then walked towards me and placed his hand on my shoulders "My name is Rowan Parker but you can call me Mr Parker,what you did today shows me that there's still humanity in this industry and that makes me happy.I'm pleased to let you know that you're hired,you start on Monday."He then shook my hand and gave me a bright smile before I could respond he had already walked away.i breathed a sigh of relief and took my things and was about to walk out of the company when a security stopped me"I'm sorry sir but this is private property please return it."I had no clue what he was talking about until I noticed I still had the safety suit on"Oooh,I apologize I'll remove it right away."I was so embarrassed when I took it out since everyone was staring at me like an idiot that i was ,I quickly ran out and headed home to wait for mom and tell her the good news I'm sure she'd be soo happy.
