Chapter 80 - The Emotional Blunder

Chapter—The Emotional Blunder

The golden hour of the setting sun bathed the plaza in a surreal, amber light. As Auron and Kaizen stood there, locked in an embrace that transcended mere friendship, the world seemed to hold its breath. The 194 Auramasters present, hardened warriors who had faced death in the dark of the dungeons, found their eyes damp with tears. The raw humanity shown by the two strongest men on Earth had managed to do what no law or weapon could: it had pierced the heart of the people.

Suddenly, a hum began to vibrate through the air. It wasn't the sound of machinery, but the resonance of a soul. A wave of silver aura, gentle as a summer breeze yet as vast as the ocean, surged outward from Auron. It washed over the crowd, over the reporters, and through the Auramasters. It was a "Pulse of Solidarity"—an unintentional release of power that didn't burn or blast, but instead filled everyone it touched with a sudden, unexplainable sense of courage and calm.

Kaizen, feeling the surge most intensely, pulled back and wiped his eyes. He looked at Auron with genuine shock. "What was that? That energy... it felt like hope itself."

Auron looked at his hands, the silver glow slowly receding into his skin. "Nothing," he replied softly. "Sometimes... my aura reacts to what I feel. Let's finish this."

He stepped forward, his silver cape snapping in the wind. The silence in the plaza was absolute. The thousands who had been screaming for his head just minutes ago were now looking up at him with awe.

"I hope you all have your answers," Auron's voice boomed, steady and clear. "The path ahead is dark. The devils are coming, and they do not care about our politics or our secrets. They only care about our destruction. I ask you now—not as your leader or your master, but as your shield—will you stand with us?"

A roar erupted. It wasn't the jagged, angry noise of a riot, but the unified shout of a people who finally had something to believe in. Auron watched them for a moment, then turned back to the gathered masters. "The people are with us now. Do not disappoint them. Your roles in your own countries are vital. Go. Be the leaders they think you are."

"Yes, Master Auron!" they replied in unison, bowing their heads.

"Don't do that," Auron muttered, feeling a flicker of the old, awkward Luke underneath the mask. "There are many of you older and wiser than I am. Just... take care of yourselves."

With a sudden shimmer, Auron vanished from the balcony, leaving only a trail of silver mist behind. Evelyn stepped up beside Kaizen, watching the spot where the legendary figure had been.

"You really don't want to know who he is, do you?" she asked quietly.

Kaizen watched the horizon, a thoughtful smile playing on his lips. "I still want to know. But not as a goal to be hunted. I want to know who he is out of interest—to discover the man behind the myth. He's earned that much from me."

Thousands of feet above the Atlantic, the real Luke, Unified as Auron, was flying at high speed toward Japan. In his mind, he opened a link to his Aura Illusion—the 'Luke' he had left behind in the Guild Headquarters' washroom.

"Report," Auron commanded.

The illusionary Luke responded instantly. "The scene in the office was intense. Everyone was glued to the TV watching your speech. They didn't even notice I was gone for so long. Kael is still waiting with them. We haven't done his registration yet."

"Good. I'm approaching now," Auron said.

"You know," the illusion added with a chuckle, "what Kaizen did today... it was incredible. I admire him more than ever. He really treated us like a brother."

Auron felt a flush of heat beneath his visor. "You're my illusion! You're literally part of my own consciousness. If you feel embarrassed for me, you're just making it worse!"

The illusion laughed, a sound identical to Luke's own. "I can't help it! Your emotions are my emotions!"

Suddenly, the illusion's tone changed. "Wait! Someone's coming!"

Through the eyes of the illusion, Auron saw the washroom door swing open. Marin stepped in, looking frantic. "Luke? Are you still in here? We've been waiting for ten minutes!"

Auron quickly terminated the call to the illusion and focused his speed. He needed to swap places before she got suspicious.

Inside the HQ washroom in Japan, the illusionary Luke rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Oh, hey Marin! Yeah, sorry. My stomach was... uh... not doing great."

Marin crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing. She noticed the slight shimmer in the air—the residual aura of the communication link. "Who were you talking to? I heard voices."

"Voices? Oh! Just... another friend on the phone," the illusion lied. "Checking in on the riot situation in America."

"In the washroom?" Marin asked, her voice skeptical.

"Well,he was calling me multiple times" Luke illusion said , "Kaizen is probably heading back soon. We should get Kael's registration ready, right?"

"Did she hear everything?, I guess No" the

Luke illusion thought.

Auron reached Guilde HQ.

He deunify at the building's exterior.

He ask his his illusion ,"Does Marin figure out something?"

Luke illusion noded "No but that was close."

Marin watched him closely as he walked past her. She stepped to the sink to wash her hands, her reflection showing a troubled expression. *Luke is behaving so strangely today,* she thought. *The phone call, the weird timing... it's like he's hiding an entire world from us.*

Her small creature, Mie, peeked out from her shoulder, sensing her mistress's unease. Mie knew the truth—she had talk to Luke creature before—but she had promised to keep his secret. But he also can't tell Luke that Marin is suspicious on him.*I'm sorry, Luke and Marin,* Mie thought sadly. *I can't betray Marin,So I will nkt stop her to find yiu ,but I will keep promise of not tellling anyone about you.:*

An hour later, the atmosphere in the Japan HQ shifted from tension to celebration. Kaizen walked through the front doors, and he was immediately swarmed.

"You're a star, Auramaster Kaizen!" one of the younger guilde pfficer yelled.

"That speech was incredible!" another added.

Kaizen laughed, waving them off. "I did nothing but tell the truth. It was Auron who did the heavy lifting."

Marin and the rest of Aurafiest approached him. "Kaizen, what you said about being like a support to Auron... that was so adorable," Marin said, teasing him slightly.

Luke, caught up in the moment, blurted out, "Yeah, he really is an adorable big brother for him!"

The room went silent. Kaizen turned his head slowly toward Luke, his eyes twinkling with confusion. "How did you know I told him that, Luke? I didn't say that into the microphone. I whispered that to him while we were hugging."

Luke's heart stopped. He felt the blood drain from his face as Marin and Evelyn both turned to look at him.

"I... uh... I mean!" Luke stammered, his brain racing at 100 mph. "I just... I saw the hug! It looked so 'big brother-ish'! It was a lucky guess? Yeah! Total guess!"

Kaizen chuckled, patting Luke on the head. "You've got a sharp eye, kid. Maybe you've got a future in intuition."

Luke took a deep breath, wiping cold sweat from his forehead. *Riot, death warnings, and now this. Today is too much.I made too much Blunder in emotions. I need a vacation from my own life.*

"Let's just register Kael," Luke urged, wanting to change the subject.

They moved to the registration counter. Kael stepped forward, his face full of a new, quiet dignity. He placed his hand on the scanner.

[NAME: KAEL]

[TYPE: AURA DESTROYER - LEVEL 4]

[GUILD: AURAFEST]

"You're official now, Kael," Liod said, slapping him on the back. "Welcome to the messiest guild in the world."

"I am so glad to be here," Kael said, his voice thick with emotion. "I won't let you down."

Chika clapped her hands together. "This is great! We have one Aura Creator, one Aura Destroyer, three Blasters, and two Averages. We're a perfectly balanced team now!"

Kael looked around at his new teammates. "So... do we have a specific dress? A uniform?"

"A uniform?" Marin asked, blinking.

"Yeah," Kael explained. "I saw many of the high-tier guilds in America today on the news. They all have matching gear or colors. It makes them look like a unit. It builds spirit."

Marin tapped her chin. The idea of a uniform appealed to her tactical side. "You know what? You're right. If we're going to be the face of the new Guild administration, we should look the part."

She turned to the group, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Tomorrow, everyone meet at the Central Department Store at 10:00 AM. We're going shopping for the Aurafiest look!"

"10:00 AM? But that's so early!" Uno complained, though he was already smiling.

As the day finally came to an end, the hustle and bustle of the global crisis began to settle into a quiet resolve. The world knew the truth now—they knew the devils were coming in eleven months. But as Luke walked home under the starlight, he felt that for the first time, humanity wasn't just waiting to die. They were preparing to fight.

And tomorrow, at least, they would start by picking out the right clothes for their guilde.
