"What the.." he replies as he spits on Arthur's face.
With a look of disgust, Arthur cuts both of Achilles tendon while saying "Filth". A moment of stillness before horror occurs, as he starts to get lower until both knees drop to the ground.
"Huh" in a moment of confusion he says. "Look" says Arthur as he shows him his ankles twisting his head to look back. He lets out a loud and horrifying scream as it echoes everywhere. People from a great distance away hear and leave in the area in fear.
Arthur lets him go and he falls to the ground while crying in pain. Arthur looks at her with a gentle and inviting smile asking her "Could you look at me for a moment?". She looks away from him crying on the ground and looks at Arthur. As soon as their eyes met, her vision went dark to her surroundings except for his face.
He continues to wail and cry, but then a heavy foot comes down onto his face and shatters it. The force exuded shatters the ground. The man goes silent and a sigh a relief is released from Arthur saying afterwards "Finally it's quiet".
He gets closer to her crouching down and asking "Are you alright?".
Distraught and scared, she didn't move the foetal position she was in. The fear instilled into her from the scum stayed and so did Arthur, but a good distance away. He waited for her until she was ready.
"It's okay. I won't get closer" he says to reassure her. He stays in his crouched position looking at her. She kept her head down for several minutes until she looked up and he was still there.
"Whenever you're ready. I'll be here to help." he says again with a soft smile. She looks at him for a couple of seconds before asking "Are you really going to help?" as she starts to cry.
"Can i get closer?" he asks. she nods and he gets closer, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around her. "It's going to okay" he says as she starts to cry while leaning into him. She cries for a couple of minutes until he asks "Are you hurt anywhere?".
With puffy eyes and a runny nose, she responds "I'm ok, I healed myself earlier". "May I?" he asks as he signals to pick her up and she nods. He picks her up and carries out saying "Let's get away from that disgusting site". "Okay.." she replies softly as she gets flustered with her face against his chest and her arms wrapped around him.
"What's your name?" he ponders and with her answering with "Sophie". "I'm Arthur" he replies with a smile. He reassures her continuously so that she could forgot about this frightening experience. "Do you know him?" he questions her. Before the question is looked at him happily and then turned sour. She starts to shake and says "Yes. He was a team member from the guild".
"It's Okay Sophie" "He won't ever bother you again" says Arthur, but it changes nothing because she still looks scared. "Why not leave the guild?" he asks and she looks away saying "I can't". Arthur stops questioning her and simply says "It's fine. We'll figure it out". They keep walking and he takes her to an expensive hotel. He puts her down as he talks to the receptionist.
She looks around frightful as it feels like all the eyes on her. She grabs on to Arthur and he brings her head into his chest softly while stroking her head saying "It's Okay. I'm right here" "Breathe". She calms down and they go to their room, He puts his mouth to her ear asking "Can you walk?" and she shakes her. He carries her again while others watch them.
He hands her the key card and asks her to unlock the door, which she does. He goes to the bed and places her down gently. He gets up to walk away and she grabs onto him asking him not to leave and he sits back down.
He sits facing away from her and asks her "How long has this been going on?". She rolls to the other side facing away from him and softly says "Not long" "Others have been doing this for much longer".
"Doing what Sophie?" he asks and she goes silent for a moment and then tells him everything. "They call us Holders in the guild." "I'm not an official member of that guild" "I just work with them to pay off my debts" "I got a loan from a place called Apex Capital" "They only provide loans to EVO and once you take their money, they work you like a slave" "Apex Capital is a front for the Congress" "A powerful guild here and they basically control this part of the north".
London was hit heavy with the rift outbreak. Each district has parts that became uninhabitable with monsters teeming and hiding in the destruction. The north has 5 zones with 2 being inhabited by monsters and with the nearest zones to them being run down and impoverished areas. The last zone is a flourishing place as it's closest to the centre with minimal damage to this area. Each district is the same.
(Zones 5 and 4 are barricaded so that monsters don't get out with Zones 3 and 2 being impoverished neighbourhoods. The entertainment district is located in zone 3.)
"So basically they own Zone 3 from behind the scenes and EVOLVED has done nothing about it?" asks Arthur. "Well yeah" "They covered it up well and the people who have informed EVOLVED have ended up missing" she says shaking at the thought.
"How do you know all of this?" he asks as she seems too well informed for someone who recently got put into this scheme. Sophie starts to snivel before saying "There were 3 of us. Me, Kate and Eric" "We were all put on the same team" "At first it wasn't bad because we were in the same situation" "Until Eric left us a message saying that he had evidence of what they were doing and was going to tell EVOLVED". "At first I felt happy that something might happen" "But several days went by and nothing happened. Me and Kate got anxious and she said she would go and speak to EVOLVED" "Next thing I know, They both gone." "I get sent a photo the next day from Kate's phone and it was...".
Her breathing accelerates and he can hear shallow noises coming from her. He looks at her face and she looks detached. "SOPHIE" "Listen to my voice" he says. Her rapid breathing continues. "Follow my voice. You're safe". "Nobody can hurt you." "I'm right here" he says. She continues to exacerbate.
Arthur places his hand on over her heart and slows down the blood flow, while placing his other hand over her eyes calmly saying "Rest". Her breathing slows down and she goes under. "Again and again" "Scum get to live happy lives while good and righteous people suffer." His anger starts to boil over.
He stands up and calms down placing his hand over his face and his hair. He walks over to the balcony looking over the city. "There are rats crawling everywhere and this place needs cleansing" he says, but first she needs some clothes.
Arthur leaves to get her some clothes and is only gone for 13 minutes. He returns placing the key card into the door and walking in. He sees that she isn't on the bed. He looks around the room saying "Sophie" as his voice gets louder. He sees the wind blowing into the curtain open and rushes over. He pushes and sees her standing there on the edge.
"Sophie" "Listen to me" "No Don't.." he shouts at the end.
