Chapter 170 - The growth of the prodigy (170)

Kairo's early life was very chaotic.

It wasn't that he was a bad kid per se, he was a good boy.

He wouldn't hurt a fly really, he was quite innocent, seeing the value in everything.

Life was good.

Ancient Giants carried cargo while Tontattas ran around stealing snacks and denying everything despite being caught in 4K.

Life was great.

The issue—

Was Kairo himself.

Because from the moment he could walk—

He started doing bullshit.

At the raw age of 2 fucking years old.

"WHERE IS HE?!"

A man with white hair sprinted through the compound with sheer panic on his face.

Soryu Tobirama.

Named after an ancient warrior from even older records.

One of the clan's strongest water-style specialists.

A genius.

A feared ANBU commander.

The future clan head.

The man who had mastered water jutsu so well, he could now condense the amount of Seastone within water.

Could turn your own sweat into it.

Such a powerful man was currently—

A stressed father.

"I FOUND HIM!"

His wife yelled from the roof.

Tobirama looked upward—

And nearly had a heart attack.

Tiny little Kairo sat on top of the roof happily chewing on a lightning seal.

"How did he even get up there?!" Tobirama yelled.

His wife, Soryu D. Ayame, pinched the bridge of her nose.

"The same way he got into the weapons vault yesterday."

"...We don't talk about that."

The toddler looked down at them innocently.

Then—

BZZZT—BOOM!

He vanished in a tiny burst of lightning.

Both parents froze.

"...Did he just use Body Flicker?"

"He is TWO."

Kairo reappeared directly behind Tobirama.

The toddler climbed onto his father's shoulders proudly.

"Fast 😄."

Tobirama looked emotionally devastated.

"My son's a prodigy..."

Ayame looked less impressed.

"He also tried eating a smoke bomb this morning."

"...He WHAT?"

All this to say, the boy was really proficient with jutsu.

A one-in-100-million-years prodigy.

He grasped ninjutsu so quickly, his soul was incredibly powerful.

Though that may be an issue, his soul was way too powerful.

Oh well.

At the tender age of 4—

The academy teachers were suffering.

Not because Kairo was dumb.

No.

The problem was—

He learned too fast.

"Again," the instructor sighed.

Young Kairo sighed dramatically like the lesson bored him.

Then—

Three shadow clones appeared instantly.

Perfectly stable.

The entire classroom froze.

One kid dropped his juice.

"HOW?!"

That shit took time and a lot of practice, yet the boy could use them so easily as if it was second nature.

Kairo tilted his head.

"Hm?"

"You're not supposed to know that yet."

"Oh."

The clones popped.

POOF! ☁️☁️☁️

Then Kairo raised his hand politely.

"Can I learn Fire Dragon Jutsu now?"

"...No."

"Why?"

"Because you almost blew up the east district yesterday."

"In my defense—"

"You made the dragon too big."

"...That's fair."

At 5 years old, they fucked up.

Why?

Kairo discovered seals.

This was a mistake.

A catastrophic mistake.

"WHY IS THE BATHROOM GRAVITY SIDEWAYS?!" someone screamed.

Children could be seen floating through the hallway.

🌀🌀🌀

One poor Giant was stuck sideways against a wall.

Meanwhile—

Kairo sat nearby writing formulas onto paper calmly.

"...I wanted to see if seals could affect directional force."

The sealing instructor stared at him silently.

"...You're banned from the archives."

"What?!"

"You made a Fishman fly into orbit."

"He came back."

"That is NOT the point."

At age 6, he awakened Conqueror's Haki and learned Conqueror's Coating after seeing it once.

His eyes seemed to just absorb every bit of info he saw.

He was pretty mischievous, but he was a good kid.

By that age, he had Conqueror's Haki Coating, Ryuo, Armament Haki, but sadly no Observation Haki.

By 7—

He got into swordsmanship.

He was a great swordsman but damn, could he really have no flaws at all?

By age 8—

His parents had officially accepted fate.

Their son was built different.

Ayame walked into the kitchen one morning—

Only to see Kairo casually drinking tea beside a fully assembled holographic monitor.

"...Where did you get that?"

"The lab."

"You're not allowed in the lab."

"I wasn't caught."

"...That's not better."

Meanwhile Tobirama entered proudly holding groceries.

"I HAVE RETURNED—"

He slipped on a seal tag.

CRASH!

A water jutsu activated.

SPLASHHHH! 🌊

The entire kitchen flooded instantly.

Ayame slowly turned toward her husband.

"...You did that on purpose."

"No I didn't!"

Kairo sipped tea quietly.

"...I definitely inherited intelligence from mom."

"YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Tobirama yelled.

Ayame burst out laughing.

And for a moment—

Everything was peaceful again.

By 10, he had unlocked the Voice of All Things.

Being able to hear things others couldn't.

His progress was simply out of this world.

By 11—

Kairo entered {sneaked into} the archives.

The real archives.

Not the public ones.

The forbidden section.

Records of the Void Century.

God Valley.

Imu.

Joyboy.

The first world.

The truth.

And unlike others—

Kairo didn't react with fear.

He hated what he saw.

Why the fuck were his people doing nothing while everyone else was suffering?

He hated it.

They were more than strong enough to slime out those fucking Celestial Dragons.

But later, when he asked his parents, they gave some explanation about waiting for the right time and the right person.

But he did not feel like putting his hopes on someone.

In his humble opinion, if you wanted something, you did it yourself.

Praying for a god to come and save you would not help you.

You would only continue to sink in the shit surrounding you.

Only you could help yourself.

By 12, he was a fully fledged ninja.

He had finished the Academy by the time he was 10, and only because his mom had forced him to stay an extra 2 years, or else he would have finished at 8.

He was about as strong as a jonin now.

No secret jutsu though.

So in One Piece terms, he was below Admiral level in strength but stronger than everything below Admiral, if that made any sense.

In every sense of the word, he was a true fucking monster.

His strength right now would be around the same level David would have been after the 4 years of training on Little Garden.

Though if they fought, Kairo would have won.

He was more in tune with his body.

A/N....I feel like alot of question would be raised with this backstory, and how the fuck he got so weak...shit get explained in the next 5 chapters.
