Chapter 100 - What if Kairo joined Whitebeard (100)

Warning, before we start the special I want to say that this is more Kairo than David, so he knows of his clan massacre, the split is more 70-30 in Kairo favor than the 80-20 which was in David favor usually.

Reason for that is simple this version of him has been isolated for a while, and the killer instinct are more prominent.

/////////////

Kairo may have chosen to be with the Strawhats in the main route; however, things could have been very different if a single change had been made.

Roughly a year and a half before Luffy came to his island—

Kairo could be seen punching a tree over and over again.

"Damn... I'm making no progress," he muttered to himself. He was beginning to notice that he was barely improving his strength. Sure, his physical body was getting stronger, but his Haki was falling behind.

{Stats are a tiny bit different since this is taking place a while back.}

Kairo looked at his stats. They hadn't budged in a while now, and while yes, he was getting stronger, it was happening slowly. He pondered for a bit—maybe he should leave this island soon.

In a year or so, because after that, he didn't think staying on this island would be beneficial.

He was just getting the hang of Flying Raijin.

As he finished his training, his brow furrowed a bit.

Something was off. Something was very off.

He felt the presence of someone strong on the island.

Taking out his sword and axe, he was ready to give this guy a piece of his mind.

POV Change.

Ace whistled as he stared at the massive island looming ahead of his ship. "So that's the island, huh? Doesn't look like much."

The shore was covered in dense jungle, mist curling around trees taller than some of Whitebeard's masts. The distant roar of something massive echoed across the ocean, and the smell of damp earth and greenery hit like a punch.

He grinned. "Heard a rumor a ninja lives here. Figured I'd check it out myself."

From behind him came a sigh sharp enough to cut steel. "You are a Division Commander, Ace. Running off on your own is reckless," Izo muttered, his fan snapping open with a flick. With his figure, he would be a perfect diddy victim.

"You didn't have to follow me, y'know," Ace said, looking back.

"You think I trust you not to cause chaos on your own?" Izo's tone was deadpan. "I came to limit the damage."

The pair trudged through the forest after docking. The deeper they went, the stranger things became—trees as thick as towers, birds the size of small ships, and then—

A loud STOMP shook the ground.

Ace's jaw dropped as a massive reptile stomped out from the jungle. "...Is that a damn dinosaur!?"

"Yes..." Izo said, pulling out his blicky and filling the dino with more holes than 50 Cent.

Ace turned toward the thicker forest, his curiosity blazing like the flame at his fingertips. "If there's a ninja strong enough to make waves all the way to the New World, I'm meeting him."

Izo sighed, flicking his fan closed. "You are insufferable."

The two made their way deeper into the jungle, bantering the entire way. Ace was laughing about how he'd make the guy teach him some cool tricks when—

WHOOSH—!

Ace barely had time to react as his Observation Haki flickered in.

"Water Style: Water Bullet Jutsu," came a voice—cold, clipped, and close.

He didn't even think. Instantly, he shot out fire from his stomach—yes, his stomach. He didn't get the time to raise his hand.

"Flame Bullet!"

As Ace blinked, he felt something was off. He was on guard—his Observation Haki was active.

He tilted his head to the side as a kunai barely missed him.

"Hiken!"

He launched a Hiken toward the direction the kunai came from. He wasn't about to die like a bitch... yet.

"Why are you on this island?"

Ace froze, turning around to see Izo with a kunai pressed to his neck. The masked fighter holding it had a killing intent so sharp Izo could barely breathe.

Even breathing wrong felt like it'd get him killed.

Ace, realizing the situation, spoke quickly.

"Hey... calm down. No need to be all violent. How about we start with our names?" Ace said calmly.

Izo gave him a death glare—

Like, dumbass, don't you see the knife under my neck!?

"I'm Portgas D. Ace, Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates."

"And this is Izo, Sixteenth Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates," he added, pointing at the very unimpressed man beside him.

"...So did Whitebeard send you?" Kairo's brow furrowed.

"Wait, no—no. We came to see this island because two giants told us about you. They said there was a ninja here."

Kairo's grip on Izo lessened a bit.

"Two giants..."

"Yeah... I forgot their names since I was eating," Ace said, scratching the back of his head.

"But I do remember their laugh—it was..." He cleared his throat.

"Gebababababa! Gyagyagyagyagya!"

Kairo removed his kunai from Izo's throat, vanishing from sight and reappearing behind Ace—who only sensed his presence a second after.

'He's fast,' Ace thought to himself. With this speed advantage, Kairo could've sliced his head off without him noticing.

Kairo's tone stayed sharp. "So why are you really here?"

Ace blinked, dead serious this time. "That's literally it. Heard there was a ninja. Wanted to see for myself."

Kairo's brow furrowed. "...That's it?"

Izo, finally breathing again, sighed. "Yes. That is it. He dragged me here to satisfy his idiotic curiosity."

Kairo blinked once. "...You're weird."

Ace grinned wide. "Heh, yeah. I get that a lot."

The tension broke slightly, the forest quieting once again. The heat faded, the mist settling as Kairo finally sheathed his blade.

But Ace's eyes gleamed with a familiar fire—curiosity and challenge mixed into one.

"Say, since we're both still standing..." he said, cracking his knuckles with a grin, "how about a little spar? Y'know—just to see what a real ninja's made of."

Kairo didn't know how to react, but he knew—if it was a fade Ace wanted, then he'd get that fade.

Kairo vanished from sight.

Ace immediately expelled a shit-ton of fire from his body—and yes, a lot. He burned everything Kairo could hide behind. He wasn't burning the forest down, just limiting Kairo's options since, y'know, he wasn't trying to get snuck.

Again.

"Water Style: Water Bullet!"

Ace jumped out of the way; he wasn't about to get caught lacking.

"Fire Bullet!"

Ace launched several fire bullets where he sensed Kairo's attack.

'He's tricky,' Ace thought, weaving past three kunai aimed at his vitals. The attacks came from his blind spot, but luckily, his Observation Haki saved him.

Ace turned his hands into flames and launched a powerful flame attack toward where he sensed Kairo.

Kairo went through some hand seals.

"Earth Style: Earth Wall!"

The earth rose and formed a massive wall in front of him, blocking Ace's flames.

"Come on, show me more of your tricks!" Ace yelled, excitement blooming with every second. To think he didn't meet a bum—this was good.

"Ace, pay attention to the fight!" Izo called, watching the carefree idiot.

Like jeez, you're fighting a ninja—don't be so chill!

"It's fine—" Ace began before feeling a kunai press against his neck.

"You should really listen to your friend. Losing sight of a ninja is very dangerous for your health." Kairo's voice was cold.

Ace froze. Wait... huh?

How did Kairo get behind him? Wasn't he behind that earth wall?

And as the debris vanished and the wall crumbled, Kairo's figure poofed—a clone.

The one holding the kunai looked dead serious.

"Shadow Clone."

'How does he know my techniques better than me?' Kairo thought to himself.

"Yes..." he said calmly, removing the kunai from Ace's neck.

"So can you summon frogs? Can you transform into other people?" Ace asked, way too excited for someone who almost died.

"Yeah..." Kairo said, scratching the back of his head.

Izo paused, blinking slowly. Did he just witness this?

An actual ninja—and not a fraud?

Damn. That was a first.

Kairo didn't know why, but those fuckers stayed on his island a bit longer than he liked—but oh well.

"Come... join us, the Whitebeard Pirates," the man said calmly.

"Whitebeard... the supposed strongest man alive with the Quake-Quake Fruit. The man who stands at 21 feet, 10 inches, and weighs 9,920.8 pounds, with a blood type of F," Kairo said calmly.

"...Yeah..." Ace said, staring at Kairo. How the hell did he know all that?

"Never heard of him," Kairo said, munching on his meat.

"You gotta be pulling my leg," Ace said, still staring at him. Kairo had just said some shit not even Ace knew—or cared to learn—and then claimed he'd never heard of Whitebeard.

"I'm more confused about why the son of the Pirate King is on Whitebeard's crew."

Ace's expression darkened, as if the devil's name had just been spoken.

Izou paused... wait—Ace? The son of Roger?

"How do you know that?" Damn, he really looked like he was about to fry Kairo if he said something stupid.

"I'm a ninja. My clan used to gather information all over the world. As long as an event is older than six years, I should know it," Kairo said calmly.

Ace's frown faded at that. The way he said it—in past tense—caught Izou's attention.

"You said used to," Izou asked.

"Well, that was before the World Government sent all their Admirals, alongside several Buster Calls, killing basically everyone—leaving only me," Kairo said as if nothing had happened. Izou looked tense. Yeah, maybe he shouldn't have asked that.

"So you being the son of the Pirate King, along with your childhood up to five years ago, was noted down," Kairo said calmly.

"You mean to tell me I was being watched?" Ace shuddered a bit. To think he wasn't as safe as he thought he was.

"Which reminds me... Sabo's alive."

Ace froze. "Don't lie to me about such things. I watched his boat explode."

Kairo finished his meat. "He was rescued by Monkey D. Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army. Though the last note I read from the report said he was amnesiac."

Ace paused. Well, at least his brother was safe.

"That's good to know," Ace said quietly.

"You still haven't answered me. Why is the son of the Pirate King on Whitebeard's crew?" Kairo asked, looking at him.

Ace sighed a bit, thinking deeply.

"I want to make Whitebeard the King of the Pirates."

"Hm... well, you better start quickly. Unless you find the user of the Op-Op Fruit to cure him of his sickness, he'll die in three years' time," Kairo said, looking at Ace.

And once more, Ace froze. He knew his captain was sick but didn't think it was that bad.

Wait—Kairo gave him an alternative.

"I will make him King of the Pirates," Ace said with a smile. "And now, with your lead, I know exactly how to help him." He then stood up. "So, Ninja man, do you know where I could find such a Devil Fruit user?"

"I'm not a living library. I don't know everything," Kairo said dryly.

"Ace, he's already shared enough," Izou said, thinking Kairo didn't have much more info.

"But they're currently called the Heart Pirates, and their captain, Trafalgar D. Law, is the user of the fruit. Gaining his favor should be simple—defeating Doffy or offering him support will do."

...Wasn't he just a bundle of information.

"You didn't answer my question," Ace said, looking at him.

Kairo pondered it for a bit.

"Sure."

Ace's grin widened.

This would be fun.

Time skip — The next day

Kairo stood in front of Ace's boat.

"So... you wanted me to join when you had a boat for two?" he said dryly.

Ace chuckled wryly. Okay, so maybe he didn't think that far ahead.

"We'll make it work," Ace said with a laugh.

So anyway, they set off—Ace somehow steering this tiny-ass boat with Izou on the back and Kairo flying above, since, you know, he had wings and all.

He could fly for days if needed—it wasn't that hard. He'd eaten his fill before leaving, though he still hadn't found a way to make food pills.

A few weeks of flying, taking breaks at nearby islands, and eating. Kairo didn't drink—something about not dulling his senses.

Eventually, they arrived at the Moby Dick.

Ace jumped off his ship before gracefully landing on the deck.

The crew seemed glad he was back, asking where he'd gone this time.

Ace had a shit-eating grin on his face.

Meanwhile, Marco sighed.

"Ace, did you go to the island the giants mentioned?" He knew this was coming. Of course Ace went there.

"Yuh," Ace said with a smile.

Marco looked behind him and, apart from Izou, saw no one else.

"I assume there was no one else," Marco said, seeing no one.

"What do you mean? There was a ninja there—he came with us!" Ace turned around but didn't see Kairo.

"Shit, did we lose him..." Ace said, worried.

Marco sighed, glancing at Izou, who shrugged—but didn't deny that Ace had indeed met a ninja.

"Kairo, where the hell are you?" Ace looked around.

Izou touched Ace's shoulder. Ace turned, and Izou pointed upward.

Looking up, Ace saw it—everyone did.

Perched there, Itachi-style, looking down at everyone, was a dark-skinned boy they'd never seen before. He had what looked like Viking tattoos on his arms, black wings, and flames coming off his back.

On a ship full of Observation Haki users, not a single one had sensed Kairo's presence—as if he hadn't been there at all.

"There you are," Ace said with a beaming smile.

Kairo looked mildly annoyed. Oh well.

In an instant, he vanished from sight, appearing next to Ace.

"For someone supposed to show me the way, you sure did zero checking to make sure I was still following," Kairo said dryly.

Ace just grinned. "Well, you still made it."

"You're a 22-year-old man acting like this," Kairo muttered, annoyed, while Ace laughed it off.

It was fine. He made it. That was all that mattered.

As for why no Transformation Jutsu—well, that would've been useless. At the end of the day, it was basically using Haki to mess with someone's Observation Haki alongside some finer details. Kairo didn't want to say it, but the truth was, he couldn't mess with that many people without issues popping up.

So yes, he was currently in his 14.8-foot-tall Lunarian form.

The extra height would come in handy soon enough.

(It's about a four-month period between this chapter and when he meets the Straw Hats, so the details are a bit hazy to me. It's 4 AM—I'm not rereading early chapters.)

It took the rest of the crew a few seconds to realize—holy shit, they'd been reaction-blitzed.

Well, to be fair, Kairo didn't do it out of sheer speed—more like he teleported. And since he hid his intent and presence so well, no one sensed him until he started speaking.

"Now, where's Whitebeard? I want to fight."

Ace paused. "...Heh?"

"What? Is it so wrong for me to want to test myself against the world's strongest man?"

Touché.

When Kairo met Whitebeard for the first time, the man was very tall—though since Kairo himself was fairly tall, it was aight.

The man also seemed to be on meds.

Powerful, but on meds.

Kairo had a grin on his face.

"Guraguragura." The man laughed, a full belly laugh as he looked at Kairo.

"So you're the one Ace went to fetch." The man seemed to analyze Kairo, noticing his features.

"Hm... a Lunarien." He had heard of them before. Last he heard of them was from Roger—apparently, Roger got a deal from them. They would help his wife deliver a healthy child and protect her from dying, in exchange for something Roger didn't even know yet.

Ace was born two years earlier than he should have been, and spent the first two-ish years of his life with them.

He was given to Garp when he turned three, as that was how long it took to fool the World Government into thinking they had killed Gold D. Roger's kid.

Some poor woman on Pirate Island had her kid snatched—but oh well.

That was all in the past now.

As for why the hell Whitebeard knew that... he was Whitebeard. What other reason was needed? His ass knew everything—God Valley, heck, he probably even knew what the One Piece was and about Joy Boy and all that shit.

So a secret society of ninja? That would fly close to Whitebeard's radar.

"I would like to test myself against you. May I please be allowed a duel with you?" Kairo said politely, as if he wasn't requesting a battle with a man he'd just met.

"Guraguragura." Whitebeard laughed. Wasn't he just funny, walking into someone's crew and immediately asking to box?

Though Whitebeard was a kind man, so he accepted the duel—and thus, the battle was on.

On a nearby island, Whitebeard had his weapon out, his big-ass naginata ready.

Kairo took out his axe and blade.

Taking in a deep breath, he tossed his axe at Whitebeard. The world's strongest man swung his naginata, smacking away Kairo's axe.

Fwosh

In an instant, Kairo switched places with his axe, appearing behind Whitebeard.

"Wind Style: Air Bullet!"

Twenty or so air bullets rushed toward Whitebeard.

Whitebeard imbued his hand with quake power before punching the air, sending a powerful gust of wind toward Kairo in the sky.

"Should've thought as much," Kairo said as he was sent flying. He flipped midair before gracefully landing on the ocean—without sinking. His gaze remained on Whitebeard.

'So this is what Roger meant when he said their use of Haki is different,' Whitebeard thought, clearly noticing the way the Haki on Kairo's feet seemed to shift.

Kairo didn't care.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Thirty or so Kairos appeared by his side, each one a clone.

"We cannot brute-force this," he said to his clones.

"So you know what to do."

And as if on instinct, every clone began tossing thousands of kunai toward Whitebeard.

"Guragura..." The man laughed. So the boy wanted him to try and figure out which kunai were real and which were fake.

"You'll have to try harder than that," Whitebeard said, punching the air and parting the sea—his power sending most of the kunai flying away.

"I know," Kairo said, appearing behind the man, a blue ball of energy forming in his hand.

"Rasengan!"

Whitebeard turned around so fast he looked like a blur, his fist enveloped in quake energy. He met Kairo's Rasengan with his quake punch.

And just like anyone with common sense would expect, Kairo was sent flying.

BOOM

As Kairo's body slammed into the mountain, he had a bloody smile on his face. Of course, this man was strong as hell.

Fuck it—he better try everything.

"Is that your all?" Whitebeard said.

"Not at all. I was just a distraction," Kairo replied before—poofing away.

It was a clone.

As Whitebeard turned around, thirty Kairos began attacking him, each moving in unison. When he grabbed a Kairo and sent him flying, ten more jumped him, while others caught the tossed one and launched him back like a spring.

This was a very calculated jumping. They didn't give the man time to breathe, stopping his quake punches before they could even fully form.

Kairo used everything—from water jutsu, to earth, to lightning, to fire, hell, even wind. Explosive kunai, feints, tricks—every single move in the book.

And for five days, the man remained standing.

Sure, he was injured—but damn.

"You really are one strong man," Kairo said, his axe in his hand.

"However... I'm sure even you would take damage if you don't block this."

Whitebeard raised an eyebrow. What did this boy mean?

Then he felt it. A lightning dragon came from the ground, a fire dragon from the surrounding flames, a water dragon from the nearby ocean, and even the earth seemed to move at Kairo's command.

His Conqueror's Haki came oozing out like crazy.

"It still takes me a while to get this move up and running, but... I'm sure it can even hurt you." Kairo gripped both of his weapons.

Whitebeard, noticing this, held his naginata close.

Well, it was about time he fully locked in.

Pouring a massive amount of Conqueror's Haki into his naginata, a quake bubble began forming around it. He was getting serious.

"RAGNAROK!" As those words left Kairo's mouth, he dashed at Whitebeard, his flames off and everything, rushing the man with all he had.

"SPACE BREAKER!"

BAM

As the two clashed, the sea around them split. Huge gusts of Conqueror's Haki burst out—the sheer power from their strikes splitting the sky itself.

KABOOM

Kairo appeared behind Whitebeard, still standing.

A huge gash appeared on Whitebeard's chest, and a small chip could be seen on his naginata.

As for Kairo himself... his eyes rolled to the back of his head, yet he remained standing. A huge wound split his chest open—one that even his insane Lunarien genes couldn't instantly heal.

"You did well, child... you can rest now," Whitebeard said as Kairo finally passed out.

When Kairo opened his eyes again, he did not expect the first thing he saw to be a pineapple.

Kairo groggily opened his eyes.

"A pineapple," he said, confused.

Marco, who was just in the middle of removing Kairo's bandages—because for some damn reason, in three days since he got knocked out, his wounds had fully healed—looked at him. Apart from a slashing scar, Kairo seemed fine.

Marco then studied the boy. His physique was different, even by Marco's standards.

"You were out for three days," Marco said.

Kairo groaned upon hearing that. "Just great."

"I should be fine..." he said calmly.

"You are. When you were first admitted here, you had a lot of internal damage, but now they all seem healed. It's like you have an incredible healing factor. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought you were a Zoan fruit user."

Kairo groaned at that. "I am simply a Lunarien, not a fruit user."

"Speaking of which, Lunarien... you guys are the people who used to live on the Red Line, correct?"

Kairo simply nodded.

"Well, technically, my clan still lived there... well, before the World Government decided to wipe us out," he said nonchalantly, as if he wasn't talking about his people's death.

"You seem awfully okay with everything. For someone who's seen so much, you seem numb," Marco added, to which Kairo shrugged his shoulders.

"Crying isn't going to fix anything. I want to get strong enough to kill that magma fuck who killed my dad."

Marco had an idea of who that said magma guy was—but oh well.

"But I do need to leave... the second the World Government knows I'm alive, they'll stop at nothing to kill me or get me killed." Kairo paused a bit, thinking.

"Hm, you can't do that," Marco said, to which Kairo raised an eyebrow.

Like, what the hell you mean he can't?

"Whitebeard has already accepted you as his son. He won't allow his son to be targeted."

...

Kairo sighed. Damn.

"And the rest of the crew isn't going to let it happen either..."

"Why?" Kairo questioned.

"The second you were accepted as Whitebeard's son, you became part of this family."

Well, damn.

And just like that, he was part of Whitebeard's crew. He did try to argue, though.

"I don't wish to endanger anyone. While I admit this crew is strong, you guys have no defense or way to stop the Holy Knights."

Whitebeard's brow furrowed. It seemed like this kid knew a lot.

"Those pesky bugs won't come anywhere near you as long as I'm here," the man said before laughing.

"You don't get it—they can."

"Can't be damaged by normal means," Whitebeard finished his sentence, and Kairo paused. The old man knew.

"I suppose you would know that, considering you were at God Valley," Kairo muttered.

"Are you aware of 'The World'?" Kairo asked, and Whitebeard simply replied, "I saw them, yes."

Kairo paused... well, good to know.

"May I please ask for one simple thing?" he said politely.

"Go on, what is it?" Whitebeard asked.

Kairo nodded.

"For me to reach my goal, I need either one of two devil fruits. The Saru-Saru no Mi, Mythical Type: Model Sun Wukong, is a family heirloom. However, considering the Government's obsession with it, 'The World' probably guards it. So, I simply wish that, if this devil fruit were ever to be found, I may have it," he said politely, showing Whitebeard a sketch of the fruit.

"Is that all?" the man questioned.

"Yeah... was that too much to ask?" Kairo said, looking at the gentle giant.

"Gura... Gura... Gura..." Whitebeard laughed. No, it wasn't much to ask. The man had no problem doing this for his son.

It was only two devil fruits out of thousands.

Even the crew didn't seem against it.

Time skip — 3 months.

"...Ace... you suck at this," Kairo said, watching Ace struggle and fail miserably to stand on water.

Granted, it was just a pond—but still.

"Why is it so damn hard? Walking on walls and that damn Body Flicker was easier than this," Ace complained, clearly annoyed. He'd spent two months on this BS.

"For one, you're a devil fruit user, so it's automatically harder for you. And two... your Haki sucks. Like, it sucks ass."

"You didn't have to be so blunt about it," Ace replied.

"Someone had to tell you," Kairo shrugged.

"Speaking of which—" Kairo caught a falling fruit. It seemed to be a devil fruit.

"Wait, another one?" Ace was surprised. In three damn months, Kairo had somehow located and found twenty devil fruits.

"I mean, yeah... I did tell you everything emits a frequency—even devil fruits," Kairo said dryly.

"To put it bluntly," Kairo had a thoughtful look before placing Ace under a genjutsu.

There, Ace could hear a bunch of beats in harmony, but one note was always offbeat—and that note came from the devil fruit.

"Devil fruits are one of the things the natural order rejects, so their frequency feels different," Kairo explained calmly.

"You know a shit-ton about devil fruits," Ace said, to which Kairo gave him a deadpan stare, as if to say, you being deadass right now?

"Anyway, we've trained enough. Back to the boat," he said calmly.

Placing a hand on Ace, they vanished from the island—teleporting ten islands over, onto the Moby Dick.

Yes... Kairo's range had increased that much, thanks to spamming the Flying Raijin every single day.

"Maybe the World Government forgot about you, so your first bounty shouldn't be too high."

Kairo didn't say much to Ace's shit.

"So, uh, who wants the Neko Neko no Mi: Model Jaguar?" Kairo said, holding the devil fruit in his hand.

"For real..."

"He found another one?"

"How? It's like he has a devil fruit radar!"

Kairo didn't mind much, just tossing the fruit into the bunch. Whoever wanted it could have it.

"Ninos, your first bounty's here," Vista said as Kairo caught the wanted poster.

Let's see what the World Government thought he was worth.

{Soryu D. Kairo}

{Wanted: Dead or Alive}

{₿ 3.8 Billion Berries}

Kairo blinked—once, twice, then three times.

"...Damn, they really want you dead," Ace said, looking at the bounty. He had expected something high, but still—damn.

3.8 billion. Shit probably increased since he became a commander in the Whitebeard crew, by virtue of him having the strength of a Yonko commander but the skill and ability to stall a Yonko for days.

And also, you know... being a Lunarien, and part of a tribe the Government wanted gone and all that shit.

Time skip: one year.

Kairo could be seen stretching his body a bit.

"Status."

{₿ 4.8 Billion Berries}

Yes, they still wanted his ass dead.

On a side note, Kaido had come to Whitebeard's ship; the two captains were drinking as they spoke. Kairo was currently sipping some juice when he felt someone staring at him.

Looking down, he noticed Kaido's right-hand man—King.

Kairo wondered why the man was looking at him like that.

"Do I have a scar on my face or something?" Kairo said, his wings flapping lazily by his side.

"Come."

As those words left King's mouth, he flew away, causing Kairo to follow. They flew for a good five minutes.

"You... survived."

Kairo frowned—where the hell did that come from? Wasn't this the same dude who wore BDSM outfits?

"Who are you?" he questioned. He had no memory of the man at all.

King pulled off his mask since practically no one was around.

As the mask came off, his true appearance was revealed—fire running along his back, black wings spread wide.

"...Uncle Albert," were the words that left Kairo's mouth before he could even realize it. It was as if it was some ingrained memory or something—like his body remembered this man deeply.

"You did survive..." the man said. He hadn't thought it possible. After hearing of the attack, he got there as soon as he could. Kaido was there too but—heh, details.

The whole place had been a smoldering crater, bodies scattered in the streets. As for why they still lay there, it was due to a complex seal—a seal ensuring the World Government couldn't twist what had happened that day.

Anyone who visited that village would see a detailed vision showing the genocide caused by the Marines. And it wasn't something they could hide—decoding it would take the world itself, and Mu was a busy woman.

The best the Marines could do was stop people from going there, because if they did, they'd see the horrifying truth in full detail.

The Marine reputation had tanked after that genocide—something about it being livestreamed without them realizing it until the end. So yeah, there was that.

Kairo and Albert talked for a while. Albert even offered Kairo to visit Wano, and Kairo had no issue with that.

He did go and ask Whitebeard first—like a son asking his dad if he could go play. Whitebeard agreed, and Ace told him about someone named Yamato.

Oh well. None of his business.

When he got to Wano, he expected a land full of history. Instead, what he saw made his blood run cold—so much oppression, so many people suffering. He couldn't just sit and watch.

He had to fight. Yet he was still too weak to do anything about it. He'd tried fighting Kaido—and while he could damage the man and fought him for six solid days, at the end of it, he still lost.

He'd dealt major damage for sure—Kaido was still recovering as they spoke—and Kairo was already ready to go another round. But that damned devil fruit buff Kaido had was too much for current Kairo.

Still, he couldn't ignore what he saw. While Kaido and King were out, he'd planned to free the samurai—it was the least he could do.

But he was stopped when he saw Kaido's daughter.

...Hm. His heart skipped a beat. Goddammit.

Why did he have to fold so easily? She thought herself Oden, and Kairo didn't know what to think. On one hand, he wanted to respect Yamato's pronouns; on the other... he really, really wanted to hit.

Like holding by the horn, thrusting into it kind of hit.

And now he was mentally reprimanding himself—he shouldn't think of Yamato like that... no, Oden.

...Fuck.

Anyway, that didn't help much. He at least removed her cuffs—since, you know, he could do that.

Kairo knew in his heart that if he defeated Kaido, he'd have a better chance. He also knew that right now, he could beat Kaido... if only Kaido's devil fruit wasn't in play.

"Give me a moment real quick."

Kairo vanished from sight, reappearing aboard the Moby Dick—just as Teach had slimed out his crewmate for the Yami-Yami no Mi.

Kairo simply touched Blackbeard's back... and instantly, the man was teleported to the deepest trench in the ocean.

Well, that was one thing done.

He made sure to heal the crewmate up until he could speak again.

"Blackbeard... he—" the man tried to explain, but Kairo stopped him.

"It's fine. I know," Kairo said calmly.

Marco would've checked on the man—if Kairo had been even a second later, he would've been gone for good.

"How the hell did you know Blackbeard was about to pull some devious shit?"

"I have a seal on all of you. It detects when you're about to die... sends me a ping," Kairo said, pointing at the mark on Thatch's arm.

Marco blinked—so that's why Kairo had given everyone those seals.

"Where's Blackbeard?" Ace asked, looking furious.

"Currently six kilometers deep in the ocean, drowning—since he's a devil fruit user."

Oh... damn.

"Speaking of which, Thatch—when Blackbeard dies, can I eat the Yami-Yami no Mi? I kinda need it for something important."

Ace frowned. Why would Kairo want a devil fruit that wasn't the Wukong fruit?

Anyway, after 30 minutes, Kairo would have the darkness fruit in his hand. He had successfully slimed out Blackbeard and gotten rid of the Davy D. Clan without really meaning to—but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

So Kairo looked at the devil fruit with a disgusted expression before opening his mouth and—

{User has eaten a devil fruit}

{Devil Fruit Section has been unlocked}

🌑 Devil Fruit Section {1/2}

Fruit: Yami Yami no Mi (Dark-Dark Fruit)

Type: Logia

Mastery Level: ★★★☆☆ Adept

Abilities / Traits

Darkness Manipulation: Generates and controls an endless, gravity-like darkness that can consume everything, including light and matter.

Gravitational Pull: Can draw in objects, attacks, and even opponents using darkness-generated gravity.

Nullification: Can nullify the abilities of other Devil Fruit users through direct contact.

Absorption: Can consume matter, energy, and attacks into a void of darkness.

Pros

Complete counter to any other Devil Fruit ability through nullification.

Can devour large-scale attacks, explosions, or energy-based strikes.

Synergizes extremely well with User's Ryō and sealing arts, enhancing control over absorbed energy.

Amplifies Haki applications—darkness enhances his Armament density and Conqueror's aura reach.

With Lunarian physiology, User can use his internal fire to stabilize the fruit's destructive gravitational effects, making his version of the Yami Yami far more controlled and deadly than previous wielders.

Cons

Suffers double physical damage when hit (the darkness amplifies incoming force).

Requires direct physical contact for nullification effects.

Cannot fully regenerate with darkness—his durability must tank all recoil.

Darkness absorbs light, making stealth difficult (visible aura distortion).

High energy cost; overuse risks body implosion if unbalanced with Lunarian flames.

Ace watched as Kairo made a disgusted face eating the fruit, only for seconds later to seemingly get used to it.

"Let's spar."

And just like that, Ace was dragged away—forced to battle Kairo for four straight days so the man could get control over his damned power.

For fuck's sake, he practically had every commander jumping his ass. His exact words were:

"Beat me within an inch of my life—I need to master this fruit!"

And thus, with only five days of progress, Kairo was already quite good with his new devil fruit. Sure, he took more damage, but that was heavily—and I repeat, heavily—negated by his Lunarian durability. Plus, even in base form, he was more durable than King. {Flame off}

He'd be aight. He was tougher than Kaido, yes, but he still lost. Fucking Mythical Zoan boost—motherfucker healed way too fast.

Kairo was currently bandaging his hand, grumbling. He could get stronger much faster than this.

Ace, sitting nearby, was eating some beef jerky—he deserved them—when he noticed Kairo looking all lovey-dovey.

"Oi," Ace called out, waving a hand in front of his friend's face. "You good, man? You've been making that dumb love-struck face for a solid minute."

"I wasn't making a face." Kairo was obviously a horrible liar.

"You were absolutely making a face," Ace said, deadpan. "That was the same face you made when we found a talking pineapple last week."

"...Shut up." No comment on that.

Marco, overhearing, chimes in casually while flipping through a medical log, "He's been sighing a lot lately too. Our little ninja may have fallen in love." The man teased.

"Don't you have better shit to do than annoy me, pineapple head?" Kairo said, looking at Marco, who simply smiled—maybe this was payback for Ace and Kairo calling the pineapple people Marco people.

"Uh-huh... right. So tell me, who's the lucky lady? Or should I say—" his grin widened "—the lucky samurai princess?"

"..." If he didn't say shit, they couldn't catch him.

"Oh-ho!" Ace laughed, pointing. "There it is! That pause! That's the pause of a guilty man!"

Marco lowered his book. "If I remember correctly, he went to Wano recently, right? The one Kaido runs?"

"Yup," Ace said proudly. "Came back all quiet and thoughtful. Ain't touched rum in a week. You know what that means?"

"Heartbreak?" Marco suggested.

"Worse," Ace replied, snapping his fingers dramatically. "He's whipped."

Kairo finally snapped, grabbing Ace by the collar. "I'm not whipped! She just—" He stopped mid-sentence... oh god... he'd been played.

"So it's a she now," Ace said with a teasing smile, looking every bit like a man who had just blackmailed his friend.

Ace pondered for a bit.

"There's not many people I think it could be... was it that spider lady?" Ace watched Kairo's face—no reaction.

"Oden's daughter?" Slight reaction, but not much.

"You're not going to guess it by luck," Kairo said dryly.

"Yamato..."

Kairo froze—and Ace had a shit-eating grin on his face.

"Holy shit, you like Yamato! Hahahahahaha!" Ace burst out laughing.

"Gotta tell Pops..."

But before Ace could finish—

"Black Hole."

Kairo pulled him closer with his darkness fruit.

"You're not telling him shit."

"Bwahahahaha, it's Yamato! You're blushing like a little girl!"

Once more, it wasn't fun being made fun of.

"Either way," Kairo grumbled, "the only reason I ate this stupid darkness fruit is to defeat Kaido—since she refuses to leave without saving them."

"...Mighty ninja-san sacrificed his ability to swim to crack Kaido's daughter... Hahahahahahaha! That's hilarious!"

"Shut up, Ace!" Kairo was visibly flushed; he couldn't handle that much teasing.

"Fine, fine... Big Bro Ace is gonna help you with your problem, you simp."

"I'm going to kill you."

"Hahahahaha!" Ace seemed proud—his rage-baiting skill was improving.

Of course, Ace still told Whitebeard... and well, hum... the Whitebeard Pirates clashed with the Beasts. And with this new power he'd gained—alongside the form he awakened just for this fight—

He enveloped himself in a darkness armor that negated devil fruit abilities and even the fruits themselves when touched—basically Asta's Devil Union Mode or an anti-magic form.

And for his final move, he poured all that darkness into a single slash—basically Yami's Dimension Slash, but this time it cut through everything. Durability meant nothing against the might of that slash.

And with the power of his Yami Yami no Mi, Kaido had been defeated.

And hum—

🌑 Devil Fruit Section {2/2}

Fruit: Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryū (Fish-Fish Fruit, Azure Dragon Model)

Type: Mythical Zoan

Mastery Level: ★★★★★★ Legendary {Awakened}

Abilities / Traits

Azure Dragon Physiology: Grants Kairo the power to transform into a colossal, serpentine Eastern Dragon imbued with Lunarian flame and divine storm energy. His body becomes a living embodiment of the sky—scales tougher than seastone, and breath imbued with primordial elemental force.

Elemental Fusion: Manipulates fire, lightning, wind, and water simultaneously. His Lunarian flames can merge with these elements, producing hybrid techniques such as Hellstorm Breath and Infernal Tempest Surge.

Flight Domination: In hybrid or full-dragon form, Kairo achieves unmatched aerial supremacy, capable of flying faster than most Observation Haki users can track.

Draconic Regeneration: His body regenerates rapidly in hybrid form, though it requires Lunarian flame and stamina to fuel recovery.

Pros

Elemental Control: Mastery over multiple elements grants extreme versatility—from weather manipulation to area annihilation.

Hybrid Synergy: Combines perfectly with his Yami Yami no Mi, allowing the creation of Dark-Storm Techniques that merge gravity and elemental devastation.

Enhanced Durability: Dragon scales reduce even Haki-infused attacks, granting near-immunity to conventional damage.

Energy Conversion: Can convert absorbed elemental energy (fire, lightning, etc.) into vitality or flame output through Lunarian physiology.

Cons

Energy Overload: The hybrid of Lunarian fire, dragon aura, and darkness can destabilize his body if unbalanced.

Size Vulnerability: Full-dragon form is enormous, making it difficult to fight in enclosed areas or stealth missions.

Weather Feedback: Large-scale weather control can harm allies or destabilize terrain if not precisely maintained.

Kairo felt no guilt about this theft of power—though he was shocked the devil fruit was already awakened when he got it. Did he resonate so well with the fruit's spirit that it automatically awakened?

He was now a darkness dragon... however, he didn't give a fuck. What did matter was—

He hit.

And he regretted nothing.

Fuck rubber.

A/N....This special was anything but spoiler free, though i skim over alot, and i do mean alot of shit, and yes, if Robin wasnt the love interest it would be Yamato.

That kid would be busted, well enough about that, i will stop around here cause that roughly around when Luffy would have originally arrive at little garden.

Also while this shit was spoiler heavy, i skipped over alot of shit since, if he had more than 5 lines of dialogue with certain people, it spoil my whole plan.

So while this is spoiler heavy, i would say only like 25% was revealed, 50% was hinted at, and the remaining 25% are still hidden from yall.

This Kairo is very strong, will beat current Elbath Luffy...as of writing this, its the Luffy before the Rock flashback, technically Harold but we all this shit had been Rock show the second he appeared.

Also, as for why Blackbeard went out out so sad, it simple, Kairo is basically his counter on every single front.

He can have 3 devil fruit, cool, wont matter much if he get teleported to the bottom of the ocean and anytime he swim up and about to surface he get teleported back.

His only chance was to do it when Kairo was not present...which he did...however one thing he didnt account for was for David being a factor, since David is aware of Blackbeard Slimy tendecy, he had a seal placed on the guy who was finna get slimed out just in case and to lower man suspicioun.

While he had his own division, responsible for spying and transporting food, he made it so that only willing member of his division had that shit and so on, and made it seem like the other party had to agree for the seal to be placed, and he never placed a seal on that guy.

So yeah, Blackbeard was tricked, and couldnt slime out his homeboy of like 20 years.

Added note: just now remember I got to tell yall to vote with power stones…..yes it took me 100 chapter…..
