Chapter 114 – 131. The Three Clans Join the Body Sect
Under Zhao Quan's lead, Yang Wudi, Niu Gao, and Bai He arrived at the Body Sect's hidden stronghold, nestled deep within the endless mountain range that marked the border between the Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire.
They climbed the long set of stairs until they reached the clouds themselves, where a magnificent temple stood atop the summit, glowing faintly through the mist.
Along the climb, Zhao Quan explained the concept of the Body Martial Spirit Hall—how the Body Sect differed from others in that its martial spirits stemmed from the practitioners' own bodies. The three listened, awestruck.
"I can't believe there are martial spirits that come from one's own body," Niu Gao said in amazement.
Yang Wudi thought for a moment before murmuring, "I recall once meeting a young girl with strange eyes. During her martial spirit awakening, she showed high innate soul power—but no apparent spirit. Could it be that she had a body-type martial spirit? Specifically, one tied to the eyes—a top-tier variant?"
He sighed. "So many potential soul masters must have been dismissed as useless simply because no one knew how to cultivate body-type martial spirits."
"An eye-type spirit?" Zhao Quan asked sharply. "Do you know where this girl is now?"
Yang Wudi's expression darkened. "I remember her because… her fate was tragic. The Heaven Dou Empire's slave hunters captured her. Her eyes were clear and beautiful, and because they thought she had no martial spirit, she became a rare commodity. She was sold to Prince Xue Xing and then…"
"Then what?" Zhao Quan's voice trembled as murderous energy flared from him.
Yang Wudi hesitated, sweat gathering on his neck. "She was… disposed of. The aristocrats of Heaven Dou said she was 'played to death.'"
"Those wretched nobles," Zhao Quan growled, his fists shaking with fury.
At last, they reached the Body Sect. Inside, thousands of soul masters trained, their martial spirits all stemming from their own physiques. The sheer intensity of their spirit fluctuations was overwhelming.
After decades of development, the Body Sect now boasted more than a thousand body-type soul masters. It had grown exponentially after Huo Yuhao—using his Eye of Destiny—had once marked and recruited the finest talents across the continent. Since then, the Sect quietly expanded further by collaborating with Spirit Hall to access martial spirit awakening data, helping them identify and reclaim more latent talents.
When Zhao Quan led the three patriarchs into the main hall, they saw the full scope of the sect's might.
Huo Qiqiang, the Body Sect's master, sat upon the central throne. To his sides stood Lu Yuan and Xiao Zhi—both Title Douluo. Several more elders, ranging from Contras to Title Douluos, filled the chamber. In total, seven Title Douluos and numerous high-ranking elders served under one sect.
The Body Sect's strength now rivaled that of the Clear Sky Sect in its prime—it was a true superpower.
"Master," Zhao Quan said respectfully, bowing, "I've brought the three clan leaders."
Huo Qiqiang nodded. "You've done well."
Zhao Quan stepped aside, and the three men knelt with one knee. "We greet the Sect Master."
"I assume you harbor no resentment for how the Strength Clan was dealt with?" Huo Qiqiang asked lightly.
The three shook their heads immediately. "We wouldn't dare."
"Good," Huo Qiqiang said with a smile. "From this moment on, the three of you are part of my Body Sect family."
He looked to Yang Wudi first. "Yang Wudi."
"Present," Yang Wudi replied.
"Your Breaking Clan excels at refining medicines. From now on, you shall oversee medicine production and trade, generating steady income for the sect."
"As you command," Yang Wudi said, bowing.
"Niu Gao."
"Here."
"Your Defense Clan specializes in construction and fortifications," Huo Qiqiang said. "I task you with establishing secular branch sanctuaries for the Body Sect."
"Understood."
"Bai He."
"Here."
"Your Sensitive Clan's speed and agility surpass any other. From this point forward, all intelligence and courier operations of the sect will fall to your clan."
"As you wish," Bai He affirmed.
Satisfied, Huo Qiqiang continued. "For your loyalty, I will not withhold rewards. Take these." He flicked his wrist, tossing three shimmering pills to them.
Each man caught one and instantly smelled the potent medicinal fragrance that hung around them.
"This is a soul-reinforcing elixir refined from multiple high-grade spiritual herbs," Huo Qiqiang explained. "It cleanses the meridians, enhances potential, and elevates soul power. With it, Niu Gao, Bai He—each of you can break through to the Title Douluo realm."
He then turned to Yang Wudi. "As for you, this pill won't shatter your martial spirit's power limit, but the Body Sect has a celestial-grade treasure capable of advancing your Breaking Soul Spear. Whether you obtain it will depend on your contributions to the sect."
At those words, fiery desire lit Yang Wudi's eyes. For years, his clan's martial spirit had been restricted to the ninety-eighth rank ceiling of a Contra. Without that limitation, they would've rivaled even the Clear Sky Hammer.
Huo Qiqiang smiled faintly. "Also, take this immortal herb for your alchemy." He summoned a shimmer of light and sent a tender glowing plant to Yang Wudi.
Yang Wudi gasped. "This… this is the Fragrant Tear Immortal Herb!?"
He was dumbstruck. The brilliant petals shimmered with otherworldly radiance—he could feel its energy pulsing like a heartbeat. In that instant, the world seemed to vanish, leaving only the divine plant before him.
A strong hand tugged at his shoulder, breaking his trance.
"Old goat," Niu Gao said dryly, "time to go."
"Oh, right—right!" Yang Wudi quickly tucked the herb away, bowed low with the others, and backed out of the main hall.
Once outside, the three men inhaled deeply, savoring the fresh air.
"The effects of that pill are already stirring. After years at this bottleneck, I might finally reach the Title Douluo rank," Niu Gao said, excitement lighting his eyes.
"I can feel it too," Bai He added. "To think I, of all people, could achieve Title rank! Though, with my weak ring configuration, I'll probably be the weakest Title Douluo alive," he laughed bitterly.
"Even the weakest Title Douluo is stronger than a Contra," Niu Gao said. "We made the right choice. The Body Sect's generosity surpasses anything the Clear Sky Sect ever offered."
"Indeed."
As the two shared their reflections, an odd giggle echoed beside them. "Hehehe… Fragrant Tear Immortal Herb… hehehe…"
They turned—and froze.
Yang Wudi was clutching the immortal herb close to his face, rubbing it gently against his weathered cheek with a lovesick smile.
"Hehehe… Fragrant Tear Immortal Herb… I finally have you… hehehe…"
Niu Gao and Bai He exchanged helpless looks.
The old alchemist had clearly lost his mind.
