Chapter 225: Conquering Wu Feng

As Wu Feng began absorbing the herb, her skin flushed red and radiated waves of heat.

The medicinal power was clearly overwhelming; her brows furrowed tightly, her face twisting from the pain.

"Steady your mind. Hold on—release your martial spirit," Ye Chen said calmly, guiding her with a reassuring tone.

Releasing her spirit wasn't strictly required—but Ye Chen wanted to observe the process of evolution firsthand.

Through his immense spiritual sense, he could see every detail inside Wu Feng's body. It was a breathtaking transformation—a purification of her very being.

The Crimson Flame Dragon Heart Grass's energy was unbelievably potent. It was like a divine blacksmith refining raw ore: purging impurities, tempering strength, and using its blazing heat to burn away every trace of weakness.

It condensed the thin traces of dragon blood within Wu Feng's lineage, refining it until it approached the threshold of true dragon purity.

The procedure was excruciating. Even Ye Chen himself might have cried out if subjected to it.

But Wu Feng, a student of Shrek, was no stranger to hardship. Her persistent training had forged a will of iron.

This pain was merely another trial to overcome.

"Roaaar—!"

A deep dragon's cry echoed through the room as her martial soul materialized.

A crimson-scaled dragon spiraled into existence.

Though called a "red dragon," her spirit had always been little more than a diluted, hybrid bloodline—better than a serpent, but far from a true dragon.

But this evolution would change that forever.

Under Ye Chen's gaze, her dragon doubled in size, its proud head arching high, eyes glowing with newfound might.

Its skeletal frame thickened, exuding raw explosive power. The jagged spines running down its back extended into deadly crimson spears, each shimmering like molten gold.

Its limbs broadened, pressing solidly against the air.

Most strikingly, the dark red scales turned into a radiant golden-red hue—pure as the heart of the sun. Each scale gleamed like molten metal, etched with living flame runes that flowed across its surface in constant motion.

The transformation gave rise to a perfect, impregnable form radiating awe and danger.

Even the surrounding heat shifted shades—from dull orange to brilliant gold-red, blazing brighter and hotter than ever.

Gradually, Wu Feng's expression softened.

The initial agony faded into something different—an intense fullness, even a faint sense of ecstasy, as if her entire body were reborn.

Meanwhile, her cultivation surged upward.

Level 33…

34…

36…

37…

38!

Her soul power stabilized at rank 38—a remarkable leap of five full levels.

The improvement was tremendous. The herb not only strengthened her cultivation but transformed her potential, purifying her bloodline and enhancing her martial soul.

Together, these benefits raised her future limits by leaps and bounds.

An hour later, Wu Feng's breathing steadied. Her eyes opened slowly, twin streaks of gold-red light glimmering deep within. Even her aura carried a new warmth and elegance.

Her body, too, had subtly changed—nothing drastic, but undeniably more refined, more harmonious, more perfect.

Her skin glowed smoother than before; faint imperfections were erased as if sculpted anew.

It was the same miraculous improvement Ning Tian had experienced after her own evolution—one Ye Chen could appreciate all too clearly from observation.

That was the true gift of immortal herbs: complete enhancement inside and out. Only those favored by fate could withstand or deserve such blessings.

"My… my soul power! It's risen so much!" Wu Feng gasped, eyes wide with delight as she sensed the strength surging within her.

"Not just your cultivation," Ning Tian said, smiling brightly beside her. "Look at your martial soul!"

"My spirit?"

Wu Feng turned—and froze.

Before her floated her dragon. No longer a simple bright red creature, but a majestic being clad in red-gold armor, every motion radiating might and beauty.

"T-this is my martial spirit? How did it become like this?" she whispered, staring in awe at the creature's sheer presence.

"Your spirit is bound to your bloodline," Ye Chen explained. "An evolved martial soul is simply the outward reflection of a transformed lineage and improved talent."

"Your new martial soul is beautiful," Ning Tian said playfully. "Give it a name!"

"A name…"

A small smile appeared on Wu Feng's lips. "Let's call it Crimson Flame Fire Dragon."

The name came to her instinctively, as though born alongside her spirit itself.

"Mm! Very fitting," Ning Tian said with approval. "Far better than just 'Red Dragon.'"

Ye Chen nodded with satisfaction. "Congratulations, Wu Feng. Your spirit's flame power has likely strengthened greatly—it's already approaching the level of the Ultimate Fire."

Of course, it still fell short of Ma Xiaotao's true Ultimate Fire, but it far surpassed any ordinary fire attribute.

Once she reached the Soul Emperor level, she could use advanced materials like molten resin to push her evolution even further.

"Thank you, Ye Chen," Wu Feng said softly, her eyes gleaming with affection. "This gift… it means everything to me."

"We're family," Ye Chen replied, helping her to her feet. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Uh… I'll, uh, give you two some space," Ning Tian said quickly, hiding a smile as she walked out, closing the door behind her.

The silence that followed felt heavy—charged.

Wu Feng's eyes shimmered like molten gold as she met his gaze.

Then, without hesitation, she reached up, looped her arms around his neck, and pulled him close—closing the space between them entirely.
