Chapter 222: The Ice Empress's Massage, Part 1
The thought flashed through Ye Chen's mind but quickly vanished.
Tang San's divine consciousness was still too strong. At most, Ye Chen could probe it out of curiosity—but sealing it? That would be courting death.
After all, Tang San was still a god. If Ye Chen angered him and made him descend to retaliate, that wouldn't end well at all.
Putting the idea aside, Ye Chen turned his focus back to exploring the uses of his Spirit Domain.
He stood up and paced slowly across the silent training chamber.
With each step, his spiritual sense captured even the faintest tremor from the ground.
Every breath he took traced the movement of soul power in the air around him.
This level of environmental control was utterly unprecedented.
At the same time, his grasp over the soul power within his body had become absolute.
"No wonder they say the Spirit Domain is the true threshold of the Super Douluo realm," he mused inwardly.
To become a Title Douluo, one had to form a soul core.
To become a Super Douluo, a secondary core was required—and without extreme mental power, that process could easily cause one's destruction.
He glanced at the crystal in his hand—the remaining essence of the Ice Dragon King's soul, still glowing faintly blue. About thirty percent remained.
He also possessed the Fire Dragon King's remnant essence, though absorption of that one would take longer.
If he could completely absorb both Dragon Kings, his spiritual strength would rise to later-stage Spirit Domain level—placing him among the top three in the entire world.
Adjusting his breathing, Ye Chen exited his chamber.
The doors slid open, and dusk poured in, painting his silhouette in gold and stretching a long shadow before him.
He hadn't realized how much time had passed. Evening had already arrived.
"Ye Chen! You're finally out!"
A cheerful voice rang out—it was the Ice Empress.
After eating her fill, she had waited all day, eager to drag Ye Chen out shopping. But she'd waited all the way until sunset.
Still, knowing he had been absorbing the Ice Dragon King's soul origin, she hadn't dared disturb him.
Now that he appeared, she hurled herself into his chest headfirst with a thud.
"Oof… what are you doing?"
Ye Chen caught her midair, rubbing his chest helplessly.
"Hmph! You were gone forever! And I even saved food for you!" she pouted, wrapping herself around him like a clinging koala.
He arched a brow and brushed a finger against the corner of her lips, where a faint crumb still lingered. "Oh? And where's that food now?"
The Ice Empress froze, cheeks reddening. "I… I thought it might go bad, so… I ate it for you."
She quickly licked her lips—obliterating the evidence.
"Alright, alright. You've had to wait quite a while. Once I break through to Soul Saint, I'll find you a companion," Ye Chen said gently, patting her snowy hair.
Her current state was inconvenient; he couldn't summon her often. A playmate would definitely lift her mood.
In truth, he was already planning this—a reunion with the Snow Empress. And he knew very well that the Ice Empress had feelings for her too—feelings that were, perhaps, more than sisterly.
If both the Ice and Snow Empresses lived within his spiritual sea… well, he wasn't sure what kind of sparks might fly between them.
"Hmph! I don't need a companion! And don't you dare bring that disgusting fat bug here!"
Clearly, she thought he meant the Skydream Iceworm.
Just imagining that revolting creature made her shudder.
"What are you thinking? I meant the Snow Empress."
Ye Chen flicked her forehead. "Do I look like the type with… unusual tastes?"
"Snow Empress? You can really bring her here?!"
Her amber eyes gleamed with sudden hope.
She knew the Snow Empress's situation—just like hers, she had little time left before her next heavenly tribulation. If Ye Chen could bring her over, it would save her life.
Moreover, having the Snow Empress as another soul spirit would dramatically increase Ye Chen's power—and give the Ice Empress company.
"Of course. But the Snow Empress might not agree easily. That's why I'll need my dear Ice Empress to help persuade her."
Ye Chen grinned, bending down to plant a light kiss on her blushing cheek.
The Snow Empress was far more intelligent and proud—a true queen among immortals. Born as the Frost Goddess, she would never willingly submit to anyone.
The Ice Empress, in contrast, had been coerced by the Skydream Iceworm's manipulations, too naïve and fearful of death to resist.
Convincing someone like the Snow Empress would take time—and a little inside help wouldn't hurt.
"Hmph! See? I am useful," the Ice Empress said smugly, satisfied with his praise.
"Well, yes," Ye Chen replied, his hand slipping down to squeeze her tiny, silk-clad feet wrapped around his waist. Her smooth, warm skin through the thin fabric sent a tingling sensation up his arm.
Ever since last time, she'd started wearing stockings—and Ye Chen was immensely pleased. His little Ice Empress was finally learning.
"Mm~ Bad Ye Chen! Don't touch!"
She slapped his hand away, cheeks puffed out. "You didn't play with me all day, so I won't let you touch!"
"I was busy cultivating," Ye Chen protested. "The stronger I get, the sooner I can bring Snow Empress here to keep you company."
"Don't care!"
Apparently, excuses didn't work on women—of any species.
"Alright, alright. Tomorrow, I promise—an entire day. We'll go wherever you want, eat whatever you want. I'm all yours."
"Three days!" she demanded immediately, crossing her arms.
"Fine. Three days," Ye Chen sighed in surrender, scooping her up.
As he carried her back toward his room, he muttered, "I've really exhausted myself on cultivation today… Tonight, you're going to give me a massage."
