Chapter 214: The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, Meeting the Family

Two days later.

Ye Chen piloted a combat aircraft, with Ning Tian by his side, quietly flying toward Seven Treasures Glazed Tile City.

Ning Tian leaned against Ye Chen's shoulder, gripping his hand tightly, palms slightly sweaty—clearly a bit nervous.

"What's wrong, nervous to be going home?"

Ye Chen glanced at her, teasing.

"Hmph, I am not."

Ning Tian flushed and instinctively looped her arm through his, whispering, "When we see my dad, don't get nervous—you have to be confident. That's how you keep control."

"Nervous?" Ye Chen arched a brow and replied lightly, "Why would I be nervous to see my future father-in-law?"

"W-what father-in-law, we're not even… Don't call him that!" Ning Tian turned even redder, lightly punching his shoulder, but her eyes brimmed with honeyed joy.

The noon sun blazed above as, in the distance, a massive city loomed into view, rising from the plain.

Enormous stone walls, over thirty meters high, towered above the land—majestic and imposing.

Because the city strictly controlled incoming flying soul tools, Ye Chen landed the craft at the city gate rather than flying inside.

At the massive gate, the crush of carriages, crowds, and bustling voices surged together into a vibrant chaos.

On the city tower hung a giant white jade plaque. Five elegant gold characters gleamed in sunlight: Seven Treasures Glazed Tile City.

"It was called Nine Treasures Glazed Tile City in the old days," Ning Tian explained, looking up with a faint hint of regret.

"Unfortunately, after Ancestor Rongrong ascended to the divine realm, our sect never again produced a Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda. Over time, we reverted to the current name."

But this time, she squeezed Ye Chen's arm tighter, eyes shining with determination. "Today, that old name is coming back! The Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda will reappear!"

She was resolved to reclaim her ancestor's glory!

"I see," Ye Chen nodded, then took her hand and walked with her into the city.

Beyond the wide arched gate, the city spread before them like a vibrant painting.

The main road was over twenty meters across, paved with glossy, perfectly cut dark blue stone blocks.

On either side, endless rows of shops stretched away.

Many display windows filled with soul tool armors and intricate accessories gleamed with faint soul light.

Herbal shops exuded layered medicinal scents from their doors.

Vendors hawked street snacks, adding to the lively scene.

Ning Tian's mood lifted with the city's bustle. She bought two skewers of glossy red candied hawthorn, handing one to Ye Chen. "Try it! It's what I ate as a child—so good!"

She munched happily, her bright eyes full of nostalgia—as if truly arriving home.

While it had only been a few months, her recent experiences felt like years, and a tide of homesickness washed over her.

As Ning Tian led Ye Chen toward the sect, she explained, "For thousands of years, Seven Treasures Glazed Tile City has flourished—one of the continent's most powerful cities. It borders the Heavenly Soul Empire to the east, Dou Ling Kingdom to the west. Even Sun Moon Empire merchants visit here for rare minerals. You can find anything here."

The further they walked, the more refined the city became.

The stones underfoot turned to lustrous white jade bricks. Violet blossomed on the sides, along with gold-rimmed tulips, filling the air with fragrance.

Patrol squads in gleaming silver armor, their chests marked with the seven-tiered pagoda insignia, marched in well-ordered lines, eyes keen.

There had been no need to announce her return—Ning Tian's entrance had been recognized at once. While no one approached directly, word of her arrival spread inside the sect.

Before long, a group of butlers and guards in sect robes parted the crowd, bringing a carriage.

"Welcome home, Young Mistress!"

All bowed as one to Ning Tian, displaying superb discipline.

"Let's go!" Ning Tian smiled and led Ye Chen into the ornate carriage bound for the sect's heart.

Half an hour later.

They arrived before an immense mansion.

Ning Tian stepped down with Ye Chen, following the guards into a grand hall.

The space was vast, the domed ceiling so high it was painted with colored glass murals.

The floor was polished warm jade, so clear their reflections shone back.

Stepping in, a gentle warmth soothed away their travel fatigue.

Twelve enormous glass lamps, all set with different gems, illuminated the hall in a dreamlike radiance.

At the main seat sat a refined, elegant middle-aged man in a dark blue robe embroidered with golden clouds—his hair neatly combed, his face smooth except for a few faint lines at the eyes.

This was Ning Xiuyuan, current Master of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect.

To his left stood a muscular man, his stone-like build clad in a beast hide vest, exuding a steady, unyielding pressure—Sect Enforcer Shi Hao, Title Douluo, martial soul: Stone Ape.

To the right, a plain-clothed elder stood with eyes half-shut, his entire presence razor-sharp—Sect Enforcer Jian Wuchen, Title Douluo, martial soul: Seven Kill Sword.

"Father!"

Ning Tian flew to Ning Xiuyuan with childlike joy.

"My sweet Tian is back!" Ning Xiuyuan drew her into a gentle embrace. "Why didn't you tell me you were returning? And you've brought a friend?"

Though his tone was warm, his sharp gaze shifted to Ye Chen—a hint of vigilance in the depths.

Ye Chen was striking, his strength apparent. And news had already reached him: Ning Tian had returned hand-in-hand with this young man.

As a father, Ning Xiuyuan's caution was only natural.
