Chapter 189: Bibi Dong's Excitement
Spirit City, Pope's Hill.
A wide granite staircase stretched from the mountain's base up to the halfway terraces, leading directly to the grand plaza before the Pope's Palace.
Lining both sides of the steps stood rows of palace guards clad in silver armor, their halberds glinting coldly beneath the sun—a sight suffused with grim solemnity.
At the base of the mountain on the left, a magnificent palace stood—lavish, elegant, designed with the grandeur of a noble hall. This was Spirit Hall's official guest residence.
Before its entrance, a man in blue robes stood waiting.
His brow carried an edge of stern sharpness and deeply restrained wrath.
This was Yu Yuanzhen.
After leaving Heaven Dou City, he had taken nearly half a month to reach Spirit City and had lived here ever since.
Yet even now, he had not been granted an audience with Bibi Dong.
That long silence cooled his rage.
The burning need for vengeance had dimmed into slow calculation.
Coming to Spirit Hall, old memories surfaced—he thought of the previous Pope, Qian Xunji.
Qian Xunji had died by Tang Hao's hand, and even Spirit Hall itself had never avenged it.
By comparison, Yu Yuanzhen found some peace.
If even the death of the Pope remained unavenged, what of two grandsons?
It wasn't shameful anymore—it made Spirit Hall look worse, if anything.
And so, after days of brooding anger, he learned patience.
Surely, Bibi Dong would summon him eventually.
"Clan Chief Yu, please—His Majesty awaits in the Pope's Hall."
A ghostly voice drifted from the shadows, and a spectral figure appeared, gliding silently across the courtyard. Enveloped in black gauze, it hovered like a phantom on the ground—it was the Ghost Douluo.
"This way," he said.
Yu Yuanzhen's eyes lit up, and he hurried to follow, ascending the mountain path.
Moments later, he stepped into the vast council hall of the Pope's Palace.
Seated high above him on her throne was Pope Bibi Dong.
Yu Yuanzhen respectfully bowed. "Your Holiness."
"Be seated, Clan Chief Yu," Bibi Dong replied politely.
He nodded, taking a seat below her. Ghost Douluo sat across from him.
"Your Holiness, I've come to discuss allying with Spirit Hall against the Clear Sky Sect.
Surely by now you have heard what took place in Heaven Dou City.
Tang Hao and his son Tang San plotted in secret and murdered my grandson Yu Tianxin in the arena!
The Clear Sky Sect repeatedly turns its hand against my Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. I believe they seek to crush all other sects and dominate the continent alone!"
Yu Yuanzhen's tone was furious, his words like formal accusations.
But Bibi Dong remained calm, her expression unreadable. After a long pause, she asked coldly, "Your son, Yu Xiaogang, is Tang San's teacher, is he not?"
Her meaning was clear: Your son aids Tang Hao's family—why should I trust you?
Yu Yuanzhen's body stiffened. So, she had been following the events of Heaven Dou closely—she knew everything about Tang San and Shrek Academy.
"Your Holiness, that is precisely the truth I came to share.
Xiaogang is completely blinded by Tang San's talent, disregarding all family loyalty.
Those two—the father and son—are despicable.
One exploits Xiaogang's knowledge to teach Tang San, while the other strikes against my clan!"
Yu Yuanzhen's jaw tightened. His eyes burned with forced resentment as he committed himself fully to his course.
Bibi Dong exchanged a glance with Ghost Douluo. "Oh? Tang San? Could he truly surpass Tang Hao?"
"He is far more dangerous than Tang Hao," Yu Yuanzhen said firmly. "He was born with full innate spirit power and possesses twin martial souls! One of them is none other than the Clear Sky Hammer!"
Having stepped onto this path, he could not turn back—he laid bare Tang San's most guarded secret.
At once, Bibi Dong's and Ghost Douluo's faces changed drastically.
"What did you say?
Twin martial souls… Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer… yes…"
Bibi Dong murmured softly, narrowing her eyes.
She didn't doubt him—the claim fit perfectly with what she knew.
She trusted Yu Xiaogang's judgment, and only someone extraordinary—someone with twin martial souls—could have made him devote himself so fully.
"Twin martial souls… indeed, if left to grow, he would be a great threat to Spirit Hall. Xiaogang's eye for talent is as sharp as ever," Bibi Dong said evenly.
"Your Holiness," Ghost Douluo interjected harshly, his face twisting in malice, "we cannot let this Tang San live! Tang Hao alone has already cost Spirit Hall dearly—what happens when another like him arises?"
Bibi Dong gently tapped the armrest of her throne. "What does Clan Chief Yu propose?"
Yu Yuanzhen, ever the careful schemer, smiled humbly. "I follow only your command, Your Holiness."
Though older than her in years, he had cast aside all pride in this moment.
"Very well," Bibi Dong said smoothly. "Since Tang San hides his second spirit, he must wish to keep it secret.
Clan Chief Yu, why not spread the news far and wide?"
"Brilliant, Your Holiness!" Ghost Douluo hissed, his smile sharp. "Clan Chief Yu, this could be your chance to win the trust of the Elder Hall.
After all, your son still teaches Tang San. Even if Her Holiness wishes to support you, the Elder Hall might not agree otherwise."
Ghost Douluo's piercing eyes glinted with menace.
He was mocking Yu Yuanzhen quietly—had it not been for his grandsons' deaths, he would never have sought Spirit Hall's aid so desperately.
Everyone knew the old dragon's cunning; no one would trust him without testing his loyalty first.
Yu Yuanzhen's expression hardened. "Your Holiness, rest assured—I'll make sure the entire continent hears of this!"
Bibi Dong nodded, satisfaction gleaming secretly in her eyes.
Her half-month of silence had served its purpose.
Yu Yuanzhen now understood clearly that it was he who needed Spirit Hall—not the other way around.
Tang San could no longer be allowed to grow.
But with Tang Hao and the Clear Sky Sect shielding him, a direct move would be difficult.
If she acted now and alerted them, it might ruin everything.
Better to let the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Clear Sky Sect destroy each other first.
She leaned back, thoughts swirling.
"Xiaogang," she whispered softly, "I still remember your words—that your clan rejected you, mocked you, shamed you.
From the day you awakened your martial soul until the moment you left them—those were your darkest years.
You knew pain, and humiliation.
When you joined Spirit Hall, your obsession with studying martial souls and ancient records... it was only to prove to your father that you weren't a failure.
You barely had time for me in those days.
Yu Yuanzhen never cared for you; he only ever wanted to use you.
Let me deal with him.
You took on Tang San as a disciple only to prove yourself through him—to show the Blue Lightning Clan that you were worth something.
But once the Blue Lightning Clan is destroyed… you won't need to prove anything.
And you'll finally be free of pain, free of shame."
A faint smile touched Bibi Dong's lips, though her heart stormed with venomous resolve.
She would see the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan burn.
She would make the Clear Sky Sect and that clan tear each other apart until both lay in ruin.
Yes… that would do quite nicely.
Her thoughts quickened; the thrill of her own design grew within her.
She could almost feel excitement rise in her chest.
She was ready to set her plan into motion.
