Chapter 203: Xiao Wu and Bibi Dong
"I'm going to expand the Primordial God Sect's influence!" Yu Xiaogang declared firmly.
Flender and Zhao Wuji exchanged glances, excitement glimmering in their eyes.
After tasting the power granted by the Blood Demon Ritual, they had developed deep reverence for the Primordial God. Expanding the sect's reach was something they fully supported.
"The divine being instructed me to bring Him more believers. Once we recruit enough followers, the god will surely grant me even greater power!" Yu Xiaogang said with utmost seriousness.
As the three of them spoke with enthusiasm, an angry voice suddenly echoed from the forest nearby:
"Yu Xiaogang! I entrusted Xiao San to you—is this how you teach him?"
Startled, the trio turned toward the direction of the voice.
When they saw who it was, they breathed a small sigh of relief.
It was Tang Hao, with Tang San by his side.
"Xiao San!" Overjoyed, Yu Xiaogang rushed toward his disciple. Ever since the Primordial God Sect's exposure, his greatest worry had been Tang San's safety.
But the moment Yu Xiaogang reached them, a burning pain tore through his cheek.
Tang Hao had slapped him hard, sending him flying backward.
Flender and Zhao Wuji looked at each other, unsure whether to intervene.
Tang Hao's expression was dark and cold. If Tang San hadn't been there, he might have beaten Yu Xiaogang to death on the spot.
"When I left you in charge of Xiao San back in Nuoding City, is this what you call taking care of him?"
"You taught him that evil ritual and even encouraged him to add spirit rings to the Haotian Hammer?"
"To think I once believed you were a 'Grandmaster'—so all those theories were plagiarized after all!"
Tang Hao's words were sharp as blades, cutting through any pretense.
Yu Xiaogang sat on the ground, stunned. His face twisted with humiliation and anger, yet he found no words to defend himself.
Seeing his teacher's pitiful state, Tang San quickly ran forward to help him up.
"Father, please don't blame Teacher! Practicing the Haotian Hammer was my decision! It has nothing to do with him!"
"Then why did your spirit power soar so quickly? Did Yu Xiaogang teach you that evil ritual?" Tang Hao's disgust was undisguised.
Tang San hesitated. The Blood Demon Ritual had indeed been taught by Yu Xiaogang, but he didn't see it as evil.
"Father, perhaps the ritual is considered heretical, but it doesn't harm spirit masters at all—it truly enhances our spirit power!" Tang San argued earnestly.
Having felt the power of the Blood Demon Ritual, he couldn't let it go. Now he wanted his father to accept it too.
"Father, you must have felt the spirit power within me. It's completely pure, not tainted in the slightest. The power gained through the Blood Demon Ritual is refined and stable, without any negative side effects!" Tang San explained tirelessly.
Tang Hao's expression hardened. "What exactly is this Blood Demon Ritual you speak of?" he asked skeptically.
Hearing this, Tang San's heart leapt. His father was interested.
He exchanged a glance with Yu Xiaogang. After receiving a nod, Tang San took a set of papers from his soul tool—the records of the Blood Demon Ritual.
…
Meanwhile, in Spirit City.
The members of the Shrek team were temporarily detained and forbidden from leaving the city.
Yu Xiaogang had been officially branded an Evil Spirit Master. As his students, they all had to undergo questioning.
The only ones exempt were Ning Rongrong and the two other girls. With Luo Ling's testimony and the Spirit Hall's prior knowledge of them, there was no suspicion.
Inside the Pope's Hall, Xiao Wu was escorted in by a cardinal dressed in red. Luo Ling followed close behind.
Luo Ling's expression was unreadable. He knew why Bibi Dong had called for Xiao Wu, but if it was truly to take her spirit ring, her approach seemed far too gentle.
When they entered, only Bibi Dong sat within the grand hall. After presenting them, the red-clothed cardinal quietly withdrew.
"Luo Ling, did they summon me because my identity has been discovered?" Xiao Wu asked nervously.
She had been in Spirit City for some time and had encountered several Titled Douluos, none of whom paid her unusual attention.
At first, she doubted whether Luo Ling's concealment method—used to hide her soul beast aura—really worked. But over time, she had relaxed.
Now, being summoned by Bibi Dong made her heart tense once again.
Luo Ling glanced at her but didn't answer. Even he couldn't guess Bibi Dong's intentions.
They stopped in the center of the hall, where Bibi Dong sat upon the Pope's throne, studying Xiao Wu intently.
Xiao Wu stared back, hatred flashing in her eyes.
"To think you would walk in here of your own accord—the one that got away all those years ago," Bibi Dong said first.
Luo Ling's heart sank at her words.
So Bibi Dong and Xiao Wu had met before. But where?
There was only one answer—the Star Dou Forest, and it involved Xiao Wu's mother.
Luo Ling felt a headache coming on. If Bibi Dong wanted Xiao Wu's spirit ring and bone, he couldn't remain idle.
He had promised to guarantee her safety.
At that moment, Xiao Wu's expression unexpectedly grew calm. Perhaps she knew she couldn't escape, or she had simply given up struggling.
"You came to Spirit City seeking revenge? With your current strength?" Bibi Dong scoffed.
Luo Ling watched silently, feeling that something was off.
Bibi Dong's demeanor lacked any killing intent. If she intended to take Xiao Wu's spirit ring and bone, this wasn't how she would act.
"You'd better kill me now! Otherwise, one day I'll avenge my mother!" Xiao Wu said coldly, her voice steady and defiant.
Bibi Dong blinked in surprise, then a faint smile of admiration flickered in her eyes.
She glanced toward Luo Ling, who still looked detached, and said irritably, "Xiao Ling! How long do you plan on pretending?"
Luo Ling sighed helplessly. "Teacher, I'm not pretending."
Xiao Wu's pupils widened slightly. He had just called Bibi Dong—teacher!
In an instant, a wave of betrayal crashed through her heart.
All the words Luo Ling had said to her echoed in her mind. If he was Bibi Dong's disciple, did that mean everything he'd said before was a lie?
"As you can see," Luo Ling said, raising a hand casually, "Bibi Dong is my teacher."
"My full name is Luo Ling. I'm the current Holy Son of Spirit Hall."
His words shattered Xiao Wu's final hope. Her eyes reddened slightly.
When Bibi Dong had summoned her, she had already accepted the possibility of death—but what broke her wasn't the danger before her.
It was realizing that Luo Ling had deceived her from the very beginning.
"So everything you ever said to me… was just a lie? You brought me here to trick me into coming to Spirit Hall?" Xiao Wu's body trembled as she struggled to hold back her grief.
