Chapter 222: The "Infinity Fruit" – One Punch to End It All?
Luo Han could tell—Sora's memories were intact. She still didn't realize her spiritual will had already been altered and was still worried he'd turn her into a puppet.
This ability is too terrifying, Luo Han thought. Silent and undetectable—he decided it was best used sparingly.
Normally, planting a will seed would suffice. He'd keep this ability in reserve as a trump card.
What unsettled him most was that mysterious mermaid princess from 800 years ago. As his spiritual abilities grew, his unease toward her deepened. It made him realize—his true enemy might not just be the World Government. Perhaps, in the end, even Luffy would stand against him.
Isn't Luffy technically on the side of the mermaid princess? Luo Han thought, frowning.
No. He had to intercept Shirahoshi.
Wait—better yet, he already had Kotoamatsukami. Why not become Poseidon himself?
Yes—why bother chasing the Sea Kings when he could command them?
Even the elusive Lantern Fish that had eluded him for four years—he'd tame it too. Make it dance on the plaza!
While Luo Han was lost in thought, Sora grew nervous.
"Luo Han, you still don't trust me?"
"I do," he answered absentmindedly.
Then Sora said, "The Five Elders have been looking for a Devil Fruit called the Infinity Fruit. They even destroyed the Tree-Ring Island themselves over it."
"Infinity Fruit?" Luo Han's expression changed.
He deactivated his psychic hold and rushed forward, gripping her shoulders.
"You're saying the Five Elders are after a Devil Fruit named 'Infinity'?!"
"Yes…" Sora said cautiously, "You believe me now?"
"Yeah…" Luo Han replied weakly, ignoring her relieved expression.
Inside, he was screaming: WTF?!
So the Five Elders had been looking for the Infinity Fruit—and he'd spent all this time hiding his abilities for nothing, afraid of being exposed as the one who ate the Mind-Mind Fruit.
He hadn't even dared to use Kyōka Suigetsu too freely, fearing they'd make the connection.
But all along, the Five Elders weren't looking for that fruit—they were after some other one called Infinity.
Still, if they personally moved to destroy an island over it, it had to be powerful.
"What does the Infinity Fruit actually do?" Luo Han asked.
Sora's face grew serious. "No one knows for sure—not even the World Government. The name 'Infinity' was never confirmed—it's what people called it."
"…So they've never had it?"
Sora explained, "The Government took interest after a mad biologist captured a young man who had eaten it. He performed all kinds of horrific experiments."
Her eyes darkened. "The young man survived those experiments—for ten years. Eventually, he snapped. With one strike, he obliterated the entire lab."
"Wait," Luo Han said. "If he was that powerful, how'd he get captured in the first place and experimented on for a decade?"
"That's the terrifying part of the Infinity Fruit," Sora replied.
"That final attack didn't just destroy the lab—it killed the scientist. But the young man died too, from the backlash."
"One-shot attack with a life cost… maybe like Life Return?" Luo Han guessed.
"That was what the Government thought too," Sora nodded. "Until CP0 found a few notes left behind by the biologist."
"What did the notes say?"
"We don't know—only the Five Elders have access to them. They were immediately sealed as top-secret."
"So the fruit's power…?" Luo Han pressed again.
"Rumors did spread," Sora admitted. She lowered her voice, leaning in.
"It's said that everyone who's eaten the Infinity Fruit started off as a normal person. No training. No battles. But as time passed… their power grew on its own."
Luo Han's eyes narrowed.
"There was a woodcutter," Sora continued. "An old man who lived quietly on an island for over 40 years. Never fought anyone. Just chopped wood."
"Until one day, a pirate appeared on his island. The Navy issued a Buster Call."
"His entire family was wiped out."
She drew a line with her hand. "And then—he raised his axe and unleashed a single swing. A shockwave like a mountain's edge wiped out the entire Buster Call fleet."
She continued, "He went on to destroy fifteen marine bases before the Government finally deployed that cursed fruit—the one that attacked you last time."
"With the life of a CP0 agent at admiral level, they cursed him to death."
Luo Han was stunned.
That old man had Emperor-level strength—maybe stronger.
But something bugged him.
"…So what is the fruit's ability?"
Sora looked embarrassed. "CP0 guessed: the fruit allows the body to grow infinitely stronger with time. As long as you live long enough—you become unstoppable."
"Wait," Luo Han froze. "You said the body grows stronger?"
"Yeah," Sora confirmed. "All recorded users of the Infinity Fruit had immensely strong physiques. No training. Just… time."
She sighed. "Thankfully, that old man lived a peaceful life. If he had trained his Haki too…"
Infinite physical growth…
That was exactly what Mind Guidance, the core of the Mind-Mind Fruit, did!
Luo Han had discovered it by accident when mimicking Cole's physical blueprint.
With no template, the growth was slower—but still continuous. As long as your mind remained focused—your body would follow.
"Do you know what the fruit looks like?" Luo Han asked quickly.
"No confirmed pictures," Sora said. "But according to that mad scientist—it had mangekyo-patterned markings."
BOOM!
Luo Han's mind exploded. He didn't know whether to laugh or panic.
That's exactly the fruit he had eaten.
"So that's why the Five Elders are obsessed with it," he muttered.
Immortality plus infinite strength… combine that with Im-sama, and you've got—
Luo Han shivered. He finally understood why Sora said, "There's no telling how strong it could become."
One punch to break the moon?
At this rate, Luo Han might not even need Poseidon or ancient weapons. Just give him 30 years and some Pure Gold from the Lantern Fish, and—
Boom!
One punch. Goodbye Im. Goodbye World Government. Goodbye Ancient Kingdom.
Hell, maybe even one punch to open a portal back to Earth—bring Haki to the modern world. Turn Earth into a high-fantasy combat realm!
...Okay, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.
But the strategy had to change.
From now on, Luo Han would lay low.
Minimize fights. Only use telekinesis. No flashy powers.
Let the world focus on his underlings—especially now that he had Kotoamatsukami and the ability to imbue talent auras.
He'd stay in the shadows until it was time to explode.
"Let's head back…" Sora's soft voice pulled him from his thoughts.
Her tone was full of worry—but not about him hurting her. She was afraid of being abandoned.
Luo Han sighed again at Kotoamatsukami's power.
"Yeah… let's go back," he said.
He emphasized "we", and Sora visibly relaxed. Her tense body slumped forward—falling into his arms.
He caught her, bridal-style.
"You're really mine now," he whispered.
"Mm." Sora clung to his neck. "I'll be yours forever. I'll never betray you again. The World Government means nothing to me now."
"Haha! I know your heart." Luo Han laughed. "But you don't need to cut ties."
"Keep your CP0 cover. I'll need you to feed me intel."
"If that's too much—I'll keep you safe here."
"I'll do it," Sora said without hesitation. "The Five Elders told me to become your woman. Nothing more. I don't report unless they contact me first."
"Oh? How convenient." Luo Han chuckled and soared upward with her in his arms.
"By the way—don't tell anyone you were CP0. That's our secret."
"I know," Sora said shyly.
Luo Han burst into laughter, suddenly feeling lighter—like some weight had been lifted from his soul.
…
Back on the Penguin
After her brief clash with Akatsuki , Ellis returned to her room and lay on her bed, blankly staring out the window.
Sigh…
Had she grown too complacent?
There was a death battle in 20 years—and here she was, wasting time indulging in… "exercise."
Meanwhile, Luo Han trained every day—developing his fruit, refining his powers.
She felt ashamed.
Just days ago, her best punch—infused with willpower—had been blocked by Akatsuki .
When Luo Han was injured by my punch, she recalled, he developed perfect Armament Haki within days—just to counter me.
And me? I didn't even think about growing stronger…
I should learn Perfect Armament Haki too!
Her eyes lit up.
With her willpower, once she learned it—Akatsuki wouldn't be able to block her anymore.
She jumped up, fist clenched. "I'll beat her next time!"
She could already see it—Akatsuki 's shocked face after getting floored.
All I need… is more contact with Luo Han.
…
Meanwhile, on the deck—Luo Han landed with Sora in his arms.
"Is Sora okay?"
Akatsuki appeared in a flash of lightning.
"She's fine," Sora answered first—voice cold.
She didn't seem happy to see—clearly still holding a grudge about the earlier interference.
But Akatsuki didn't care. She only cared about Luo Han.
"Let's head back to Ark Island," Luo Han said.
"Mm."
"Got it."
As he readied the Penguin for flight—Ellis burst out of her room.
"Wait!" she shouted. "Teach me your Perfect Armament Haki before we leave!"
She grabbed Luo Han's hand.
"You won't learn it," he warned.
"Why not?!"
"Because… it's not just about willpower," he muttered.
To build a perfect hex structure of willpower, you needed spiritual perception—like his Mind-Mind Fruit. It was like drawing perfect triangles—with a ruler versus freehand.
"You taught me Haki with one touch before!" Ellis argued. "Just let me touch you more!"
...You're gonna get pregnant at this rate, Luo Han thought.
"Come on!"
Ellis powered up. "Let's fight!"
"Fine," Luo Han said.
He instantly froze her with telekinesis—slung her over his shoulder—and carried her into her room.
SLAM!
"I'll show you a real fight!"
"No, wait! I want to learn—NOT—!"
"Ah! Luo Han, you bastard!"
The door slammed shut.
Back on deck, Sora and Akatsuki watched with deadpan expressions.
They were used to this.
At least this time, they'd gone into a room instead of doing it in the sea breeze.
Their faces reddened.
They looked at each other—quickly looked away—and drifted to opposite ends of the ship.
As the Penguin swayed gently in the waves…
…so did their hearts.
