Chapter 108: Ten Days Later

"This concentrated attack method... it's a bit like the Giant's Spear. Where did this brat learn that?" Kong thought silently.

"What's wrong, Admiral? Is this all you've got?" Luo Han mocked as he saw Kong hovering midair, unmoving.

"Damn brat!"

Whoosh! With a Geppo, Kong shot toward Luo Han—his speed noticeably faster than before.

Boom! Their fists clashed once again. The collision between hardened Armament Haki and solidified telekinesis shattered the air itself, producing loud, cracking sounds.

Bang! Bang bang bang! Clang! The two exchanged high-speed blows. Luo Han's attacks were varied—his telekinetic tails alternated between forming blades that unleashed slicing shockwaves and conical points that fired concentrated white beams.

The sea below looked like a massive gelatin dessert, sliced repeatedly by their Rankyaku waves, taking ages to return to normal.

Bang! Luo Han blocked a kick from Kong's right side, then launched a laser-like shockwave from his telekinetic tail.

Whoosh! Kong narrowly evaded it, but the beam shot straight toward a mountain peak on Battleship Island—after all their shifting movements, the battlefield had rotated directions.

Zzz! A flash of white light streaked past. BOOM! A massive blast echoed. When everyone looked, they saw the peak had a ten-meter-wide hole pierced straight through it. Then came roaring waves, shaking everyone near the port.

"This is bad! Everyone, get to the ships and evacuate the island—it's no longer safe!" a random pirate shouted.

Seeing an attack from over ten kilometers away pierce through a mountain, panic set in. Everyone rushed to escape, steering their ships far from the island.

"Ah—damn! That shot hit the island!" Luo Han flinched, then backed off, widening the distance between him and Kong.

Huh. I'm a pirate. Isn't protecting civilians the Navy's job? Why does it feel like we've swapped roles?

"What irony, Admiral Kong. I'm the one protecting this island now—while you invade it," Luo Han taunted.

"A pirate is still a pirate. Your so-called protection is just a cover for bigger plunder. Today I'm liberating this place!" Kong roared, charging at Luo Han once more.

Bang! Kong's punch slammed into a spherical telekinetic barrier surrounding Luo Han. It rippled like a strike on a steel balloon.

Tap tap! Kong skidded back. Looking at the unmoving Luo Han within that shield, his expression darkened.

"Haha! Admiral Steelbone Kong, if you want to liberate Battleship Island, then break through my absolute defense!" Luo Han laughed boldly. "Don't worry, I won't dodge or strike back!"

"You damned brat!"

Kong burned with fury at Luo Han's mockery and provocation.

"Then try this—Steel!" Kong shouted, charging again. His arm, thicker than a thigh, coated in dense, jet-black Haki that seemed to swallow light, smashed into Luo Han's telekinetic shield.

CLANG! A deafening gong-like sound rang out, echoing across the sea. The resulting shockwave created a 300-meter-wide crater in the ocean below, raising a towering tsunami that surged toward the island.

"Cole, get back here—steady the ship!" Spoon-jie shouted, seeing the oncoming wave.

"Got it!" Cole replied, dodging an enemy attack and vanishing into space.

A breath later, he reappeared on the ship and punched a gap through the wave, allowing both pirate ships to sail through safely, avoiding a direct hit.

Meanwhile, island residents still in their homes saw the tsunami approaching.

"A tsunami's coming! Everyone, head for the hills!"

"Don't push! Stay calm!"

People shouted warnings as crowds rushed inland. Chaos broke out, and the sound of frantic running filled the air.

Zzz! Kong's fist still pressed against the shield, generating red and black Haki lightning. But Luo Han's barrier only trembled in gentle ripples.

Inside, Luo Han watched Kong's frenzied attack calmly, very satisfied with his new level of defense.

"I didn't expect that the steel balloon-like force field from my physical body could also be channeled into telekinesis. Not only does it enhance the solidity of my powers, but it also grants a new defensive trait—turning my barrier into something truly impenetrable."

He hadn't anticipated that the cellular-level defensive field he developed would sync so well with his telekinesis—yet here it was, rendering even a full-powered strike from an admiral useless.

Boom! Kong retreated twenty meters, gasping for breath—his previous blow had clearly taken a toll.

And yet, that only made the result more shocking.

"A terrifying defense… but how long can you maintain it?"

Kong stared at the telekinetic barrier, wondering. A defense that strong had to be extremely draining—this wasn't something one could sustain without limits.

Whoosh! Kong charged again, and another round of thunderous clashes erupted. The battle grew simpler—Luo Han stood still, focusing entirely on barrier defense while Kong circled and attacked nonstop.

"It's been ten days. Are those monsters still fighting?!"

"Don't they ever get tired?"

The island's residents had relocated to the mountains. They'd lived there for ten days now, too afraid to return to the city, since a massive wave could hit at any moment.

"I've never seen anyone survive this long under Admiral Steelbone's barrage… and he's just standing there tanking every blow!"

"Yeah, that Blue Demon is terrifying!"

Back on the Navy warship, now anchored far from the battlefield, everyone watched with horror. Even the Vice Admiral candidates looked shaken, not to mention the regular soldiers who hadn't even participated.

By the fifth day of battle, the Navy had retreated to the ship, unable to keep up. Cole and the others didn't pursue—they simply returned to their ship as well.

From then on, it was just Luo Han versus Admiral Steelbone Kong.

Bang! Crash! CLANG!

The fight continued. Explosive clashes and the occasional bell-like impact echoed across the sea. Waves surged and crashed in all directions.

"How much longer will those monsters keep going? And to think Lord Luo Han is strong enough to fight an admiral this long!" Sister Aishi gasped. She'd heard the stories, but seeing it with her own eyes was something else entirely.

"I think this is what Big Sis meant when she said Lord Luo Han's power growth is unique. Less than half a day was enough for a massive leap in strength. What kind of Devil Fruit could grant that?" Sora said pointedly.

"Haha, that guy guards the name of his fruit like a secret treasure. Even I've never heard him say it—just that it's some kind of special force-field fruit," Spoon-jie said with a laugh, recalling how Luo Han had once struggled to explain his ability.
