Chapter 184 - Athena's intelligence

While Elina was speaking with Odin's son and learning many things about Asgard from him—despite his obvious naïveté—Odin had already arrived at Hades's house.

He opened the door and entered quietly, finding his three siblings waiting inside.

He closed the door behind him and said in a calm tone, though one that carried a clear trace of irritation:

"Welcome."

Then he looked at them one by one and added:

"You only gather like this when you want to know something from me, don't you?"

Silence filled the house.

Poseidon and Hades looked at one another, while Athena continued to watch Odin with her sharp eyes.

Before any of them could answer, Odin sighed impatiently and said:

"Bringing the child to Asgard is none of your concern."

He folded his arms and continued coldly:

"And if you want to know anything about her... ask her yourselves."

Athena studied Odin's face and clearly saw that he was genuinely annoyed by their meddling and by the rumors and embarrassing situations that had taken place earlier.

So she turned to her brothers and said quickly:

"Yes, yes... we will do that."

Odin looked at Athena, then nodded to her in appreciation for her quick understanding.

Without saying another word, he turned and left the house.

Poseidon continued staring at the door that Odin had closed behind him, then turned to Athena and asked in confusion:

"Why did you stop us from speaking with him?"

Then he added confidently:

"If I had insisted a little more, he would have told us everything."

Athena shook her head and looked at him with obvious sarcasm.

"Have you ever seen Odin do something he did not want to do?"

Then she added coldly:

"Think before you speak, fool."

Hades nodded with a sigh and said:

"He seems truly angry about what happened."

Then he shrugged and added:

"Even though it was only a misunderstanding."

Athena looked at both of her brothers for a long moment, then asked frankly:

"Did you really not know that the child was not Odin's daughter?"

Silence followed.

Poseidon and Hades looked at each other.

The answer was obvious in their eyes.

They had known the truth from the beginning... but had decided to take advantage of the situation for amusement.

Poseidon hurried to defend himself.

"I... was only joking! That is my habit."

Then, with blatant betrayal, he pointed at Hades and added:

"As for Hades, this is new for him. Punish him instead."

Hades's eyes widened in disbelief, and he turned to Poseidon in protest.

"What?!"

Then he tried to justify himself.

"I was only joking with Odin."

He crossed his arms and complained:

"Weren't you always saying that I never liked to joke?"

Then he pointed at them sharply.

"And now that I have learned how to joke, you have changed your minds?"

He exhaled heavily and added:

"At least make up your minds!"

Athena looked at both of her brothers with obvious pity and said:

"I truly hope you survive Odin's punishment."

The moment she finished speaking, all three received a telepathic message directly from Odin.

Silence filled the room as they listened to his instructions.

Then the expressions on Poseidon's and Hades's faces gradually shifted from relief to shock.

Athena simply closed her eyes and sighed.

The message was clear:

Poseidon and Hades were to take care of the children and infants in the village's training grounds for an indefinite period.

Athena, meanwhile, was assigned to conduct intensive training for the women of Asgard, because Odin felt he had neglected their development for far too long.

Athena opened her eyes, looked at her brothers with even greater pity, and said:

"Didn't I warn you?"

Then she added as she walked toward the door:

"I sincerely hope you survive this punishment."

She left the house with a sigh, while Poseidon and Hades remained inside, stunned by the severity of their sentence.

Poseidon stood motionless, staring blankly into space as if he still could not comprehend what had happened.

Hades seized the opportunity at once. Turning to him with a sly smile, he said:

"I will take care of the children..."

Then he pointed decisively at his brother and continued:

"And you... will take care of the infants."

The moment Hades finished speaking, he moved with lightning speed and shoved Poseidon out of the house before he could understand what was happening or even attempt to protest.

A few moments later, Poseidon recovered from his shock and looked around, only to realize that he was already standing outside.

Then he remembered Hades's final words, and his anger flared instantly.

He rushed toward the door, pounding on it and shouting that he wanted to discuss the matter "with understanding and logic."

But no matter how hard he tried, he could not get back inside.

Hades had used his power to shield the entire house and prevent anyone from breaching the barrier.

Poseidon stood before the door for several moments, then let out a sigh of surrender.

After a brief period of thought, he made his decision.

He would go to Odin and beg him for forgiveness.

After all, this was hardly the first time he had done so.

Meanwhile, Elina was still inside Odin's house, speaking with Odin's son, completely unaware that her very presence had led to Odin punishing his siblings and had temporarily protected her from their troublesome curiosity.

Elina listened carefully to the boy's words and connected them with what she had already learned.

Then she looked at him with annoyance and said:

"So... you are Forn's son."

The boy sensed the anger hidden in her voice.

Although he often appeared reckless and naïve, he was not as foolish as others believed.

He immediately realized that Elina was questioning him.

But he showed no objection.

If the matter had been dangerous, his father would never have allowed him to speak with her in the first place.

In fact, he did not believe for a moment that Odin had failed to notice him sneaking into the house.

He was certain that his father knew everything and had deliberately chosen to ignore it.

So he decided to answer her honestly.

He explained everything she wanted to know about Asgard and about his family, confident that Odin had no objection.

But as he spoke, he suddenly realized that Elina hated his mother.

He thought for a moment, then asked calmly:

"Did you know her before?"

Then he added, analyzing the situation in his own way:

"You were in the continent of Mira, and my mother is from there as well."

He pointed at her and continued:

"And both of you are human."

He paused briefly, narrowed his eyes, and said directly:

"So... you must hold a grudge against my mother."

The moment he said that, a cold smile appeared on Elina's face.

Then she asked in a calm yet sharp tone:

"So, are you going to stop me from taking revenge on her, little one?"

The boy looked at her and smiled.

At that moment, the image of a naïve and impulsive child vanished.

In its place appeared an unusual calm and a gaze filled with intelligence and confidence.

He waved his hand dismissively.

"No. No. No."

Then he continued with surprising coldness:

"I do not care about such nonsense."

He looked at her directly and added:

"If you hold a grudge against someone, then you should settle it yourself."

Then he shrugged and said confidently:

"And I am not the one who will stop you."

He finished with a small smile:

"I am not that rude."

Silence followed.

Elina stared at him without speaking.

At that moment, she realized how greatly she had misjudged him.

She had thought he was merely a foolish child who knew only how to boast about his power.

But now she discovered that beneath his reckless appearance lay a remarkable degree of intelligence and wisdom.

Elina allowed herself a faint secret smile.

She had come to understand that Thor resembled his father more than she had imagined.

Not only in strength...

But also in intelligence, and in his genuine indifference toward Forn.

The resemblance was unmistakable.
