Chapter 500 - The New Big Three

When Zhang Han ate breakfast, he noticed that the little guy who used to cling to him wasn't there.

He subconsciously looked up and saw Jinguuji sitting with two other newcomers. These two were also famous; even the First string players had heard their names.

The taller, cold-faced, quiet one was Furuya Satoru. His entrance test results broke Seido High School Baseball Team's records of many years, with a throw exceeding 120 meters. While it was true that Seido High School Baseball Team's history wasn't without players who could throw that far, they were definitely very rare. You could count them on one hand.

Furuya Satoru was the only one among the first-year students to achieve such a result during the entrance test. It was hard for such a newcomer not to become famous.

As for the other one, he was even more renowned. He had previously struck out Azuma Kiyokuni, and in terms of fame alone, he was definitely the most prominent of the three. When he first joined the baseball team, he angered Coach Kataoka and was still undergoing punishment. He didn't practice with the other freshmen and ran alone every day.

On the surface, he seemed ignored by the baseball team. But anyone who understood Kataoka knew that Coach Kataoka had high expectations for this player. Otherwise, he wouldn't have given him special treatment.

Did they really think a player Coach Kataoka looked down on could freely use practice tires? Those things were managed by the Baseball Club, and not just anyone could take them out.

Yet, this player named Sawamura could freely use these tires for running practice, and it didn't matter how late he returned. Wasn't it obvious?

Furuya Satoru, Sawamura Eijun, plus the highly anticipated Jinguuji, who everyone agreed had the most potential to enter the First string. The popularity of these three even surpassed Toujou and Kanemaru, who were specially recruited by the baseball team. Moreover, they all demonstrated extraordinary talent, so much so that even the First string players found it hard to ignore their presence.

"Are these three guys really good friends?"

The three of them sat together eating, and although there was no verbal communication, their relationship was certainly closer than that of ordinary teammates. Zhang Han asked, uncharacteristically gossiping. He asked Kuramochi, who shared a dorm with Sawamura, and according to Kuramochi himself, their relationship was quite close.

"I don't know what's going on either. Their relationship used to be average, but ever since we finished the Yakushi game, the three of them have often been together."

"The three of them didn't come to watch the game that day..."

Asou, the king of gossip, offered his intel. Zhang Han and the others really didn't know this.

"Maybe something happened that day."

Although a bit curious, Zhang Han had no interest in delving further. His time was tight; he had to balance his studies and baseball practice. As a pitcher, even if he didn't have as many actual pitching practices, his other practices were certainly not few. His practice volume was double that of regular Seido players.

"What, are you jealous?"

Miyuki finished his meal, came to their table, and pulled up a chair. He must have had incredible hearing, as he actually overheard their conversation.

"Are you crazy?"

"I understand you! Usually, that little guy is always revolving around you, and now that he's revolving around someone else, you can't stand it, can you?"

"Get lost. Have you prepared the semi-final data?"

"Changing the subject, aren't you feeling guilty?"

He wasn't as thick-skinned as Miyuki and found it hard to win an argument with him. However, he wasn't without options.

"Chris is recovering well! Do you think I should go with Tanba later..."

Hearing Chris's name, Miyuki was as if someone had hit his weak spot, and he was instantly speechless. Zhang Han raised his eyebrows in surprise; the effect was too immediate.

The three newcomers ate very quickly. Jinguuji and Sawamura both wolfed down their food, finishing their meals in no time. In just under a month, they had already adapted to Seido High School Baseball Team's enormous meal portions. It must be said that these two were truly born to thrive at Seido. These were the eating machine talents Seido needed.

As for the other one, he was chewing with gusto too. It was just that the rice in front of him didn't seem to have diminished much.

"How interesting, the strongest person eats the least. I wonder where his strength comes from?"

Kuramochi genuinely marveled. As he spoke, he glanced at Zhang Han.

After more than a year of training at Seido, Zhang Han's appetite had grown rapidly. What used to be three small bowls had now become three large bowls, and his side dishes were also much larger than usual, and mostly meat dishes. However, no matter how much he ate, he never looked messy. He always ate slowly and deliberately, giving off a refined impression. But in fact, he ate quite quickly.

Zhang Han's soaring ball speed over the past year was actually understandable. He had grown taller, ate more, and became stronger. The only annoying thing was that even after eating so much, he never gained weight.

What a strange person.

While the upperclassmen were discussing their underclassmen, the underclassmen were also discussing their upperclassmen behind their backs.

"You eat here, we're going to practice first."

Because Furuya Satoru took quite a long time to finish his three large bowls of rice, their revolutionary friendship hadn't yet reached the point of sharing hardship. So after the two finished eating, Jinguuji and Sawamura went to practice first.

"Did you see Zhang Han, Senior, just now?"

"I saw him."

Sawamura's tone was very flat. Not only had he seen him, but the three upperclassmen he had the most contact with in the past few weeks were Masuko, Kuramochi, and Zhang Han. The other two were his dorm mates, so naturally they had more contact. The last one was Zhang Han.

Although they hadn't seen each other many times since he joined the baseball team, compared to the indifference and coldness of other upperclassmen, Zhang Han's attitude was undoubtedly hundreds of times friendlier. Coupled with their previous connection, Zhang Han had been Sawamura's guide when he first visited Seido. Sawamura felt quite close to him.

"Do you know? Zhang Han, Senior, is the legendary man who wields a 160 km/h Light Speed Ball."

Jinguuji's information greatly shocked Sawamura. He had been focused on running practice to improve his physical fitness and hadn't paid much attention to team matters.

He only heard from Kuramochi that they had made it to the semifinals, and didn't know anything else. He never expected that the senior who had guided him on the tour was not only great at hitting but also terrifying at pitching.

"You want to become the Ace on this baseball team? That might be difficult..."

Jinguuji looked at Sawamura with great sympathy and said.
