There are two things in the world which Orion avoided in this life. First spending more than he absolutely had to and other uninvited trouble. It was kind of his rule in life. A life lesson to be exact.
So when Hestia asked him to heal a goddess no less, try to be exact since neither knew whether his flaks would even work on a goddess.
The possibility was so less that even talking about felt absurd. What kind of treasures would a goddess won't have access to and if none of those would help her, what chances would his system would have do the impossible.
Apparently enough, if the looked Hestia was gave him was any indication. But again that was Hestia. She could believe an pallum to one day grow up beard if they gave her a promise and buy her Jagamarukun.
??? What was the name right !
Now he didn't mind doing so of course, why would he mind healing a goddess and gaining a good connection in the city in future he gonna stay forever.
But there is a reason why he wished to keep his identity private. Hestia never told him who he had to heal but seeing it was Hestia asking and asking for a goddess no less. Who else it could be. However many goddesses in Orario are there who needs healing anyway.
So as just rules in life stands, he would have denied immediately, but instead he didn't. Can anyone say no to a goddess clinging to his arm with eyes like a little puppy.
"Fine… I'll see what I can do. But no promises it will work."
"Yay… thank you Orion-kun, you're the best."
Chuuu~
It was on the cheek, and only when Marika wasn't present. And that was apparently enough to turn one of the three virgin goddess of heaven red and an embarrassing mess.
That all took place a day ago, first Hestia has to talk to the goddess she wished him to heal. So here he was, back to the dungeon The one and the only place were he grinds his dissatisfactions away.
The morning was just like usual. Waking up between the mountain of softness, the things has been to usual to him that he didn't even react anymore. A dangerous thing honestly, if he wasn't sure he didn't had any problem in that area, he would be the one needing a healer.
Back inside the dungeon, Orion just like usual tackle the next floor he had yet to clear first.
That would be floor 11. He just cleared floor 10 so that was the natural goal to go for. He planned to face at least one floor everyday.
Just like everyday, he teleported himself in the last site of grace he been to, that would be at floor 10's ending, just in front of floor 11.
There was no different between these floors, looking like traditional cave like passages, Orion make quick work of the area with the spells he had in his hands.
Glintstone Pebble and Carian Slicer was more than enough to handle any Orc or less dangerous enemies coming his way.
And yes, he was still sticking with spells, partly cause he felt like it. Long distance attacking as pretty easy and fun. Though he wished to test out the new weapons and gear he has gotten as well.
Specially the famed revival spell, though that mean he had to wait for someone to die first. Hmm perhaps he should pray that he doesn't have to use that spell in his life, at least he shouldn't be in a condition were he needed a spell like that.
Firing two quick Glintstone pebble at quick succession to hit the incoming Orc's head, Orion made a quick run towards its short heavy legs and with Carian Slicer he cut off the legmen's of orc's legs.
With a loud thud, the giant fell down, and Orion with practiced ease cut open the monsters neck with another swipe of his magic sword.
'Sigh, that the fourth one.' Orion sighed and after checking there was no other monsters around, he slowly started to harvest the monster.
Orc's were the most troublesome monsters to harvest, at least in the upper floors. Taking out their hide was a chore like none other. Orion took 10 minute to cut open the entire hide and then he dig the stone at the last before moving forward.
"Is it just me or these levels are way to easy for me." Orion grumbled before moving forward. He had a feeling that either magic was a bit too OP or his level up had pushed him in much higher level than the floors he was tackling.
He actually asked around for this, level two adventurers usually goes upto floor 15 or 17. After that they had to wait since monster rex of that floor act as a show stopper for them. Generally higher ranking adventurers like from Loki Familia regularly beat Goliath but that usually is considered to be the general range a level 2 adventurer conduct their business.
Beyond floor 20, its way to hard for a normal level 2 to venture down there alone. And Orion wasn't even your average level 2, he was stronger. He definitely was fighting in the wrong place. Thus he planned to attack each floor per day to quickly clear his route upto those lower floors.
It took another half an hour for Orion to make his way towards the end of the floor 11. The familiar site of boss fog was right in front, making him sign at the site.
"Let do this."
And just as he was marching towards his next boss who will become a stepping stone for him to grow, outside the dungeon, two girls stood expecting to meet him today as well.
"Are you certain he haven't entered the dungeon already ?"
"I'm certain, no one enters the dungeon that early."
"But he did yesterday didn't he, remember he was going by the time we were our way deeper into the dungeon."
"Huh…about that." Eina pursed her lips, they specially came earlier to meet Orion, and waited for him outside the dungeon entrance.
Ais looked at her elven friend with her typical stoic looked and sighed.
"We should go inside, maybe we should find him."
—-<>—-
Further away inside Hephaestus forge, the red haired goddess was in her own battle.
Hephaestus stood alone at her private worktable, the strange sword and shield laid carefully before her. The furnace light reflected across the blade's surface, revealing details she had missed earlier.
She adjusted her gloves and leaned closer.
"No impurities… no visible forging lines… not even divine reinforcement marks," she murmured.
It irritated her. There was no similarities to any other work she has ever seen.
And excited her. Meaning there was an entire new way of forging she haven't seen before.
The weapons would only be in her possession for a short time before their owner returned. Of course she intent to buy these two items with whatever money the other party asked for, she had her invested interest in this items. But still, her curiosity and anxiety was pushing her to research the items as soon as possible.
She did not even know the owner's name.
But the craftsmanship—
It gnawed at her curiosity.
A knock echoed at the chamber doors.
She did not look up.
"I am busy."
The door creaked open anyway.
"Hephaestus!"
She closed her eye briefly.
"Hestia."
The smaller goddess hurried inside, nearly tripping over her own feet in excitement.
"You won't believe what I found out!"
Hephaestus did not turn around. "If this concerns your food stall profits, I truly cannot spare the time."
"It's not that!" Hestia insisted, marching closer. "It's important!"
Hephaestus carefully lifted the sword again, turning it toward the flame.
"I am studying something far more important at the moment."
Hestia puffed her cheeks. "More important than me?"
"Yes."
"That was too fast!"
Hephaestus sighed faintly but continued examining the metal.
"Hestia, I have very little time. These weapons are not mine. Their owner will return for them soon."
Hestia paused mid-complaint.
"Weapons?"
"Yes."
"Whose?"
"I do not know yet," Hephaestus answered honestly. "But they are unlike anything forged in Orario."
That caught Hestia's attention.
"…Unlike anything?"
Hephaestus finally glanced at her friend. "I have never seen this metal before. Not even in Heaven."
Hestia's eyes widened slightly.
Then her excitement returned tenfold.
"That's it!"
Hephaestus frowned. "What is it?"
"Heh… this is nothing. I have something even better."
Hephaestus brows twitched at this.
"Whatever it is, I don't care. We'll talk later Hestia." The red haired goddess wave her hands off, not interested in whatever her friends has to say right now.
Hestia's was left gawking at this, "But-but at least listen to me."
"I don't have time, really."
"Not even a minute, for me !"
"Sigh…"
