Chapter 85 - Chapter 84: thalassophobia

Mufasa also had a dream that night, but it wasn't a nightmare. He dreamt of Tywin in his youth, with a silver-haired man of the same age beside him—Aerys in his younger days.

The two had a good relationship when they were in King's Landing, along with Steffon Baratheon, King Robert's father.

They trained as knights together, received education from maesters together, and were groomed to become lords together.

One day, Aerys invited Tywin and Steffon to a Brothel in King's Landing, but both declined, so Aerys went alone.

In the Brothel, Aerys left his seed, and a year later, a silver-haired girl was born.

Aerys even secretly came to see her and named her Visenya.

When Mufasa woke up the next day, he found that he inexplicably gained a new talent.

Name: Mufasa Lannister

Identity: First Heir of Casterly Rock

Profession: Knight

Strength: 21

Speed: 21

Intelligence: 21

Magic Power: 21

Spirit: 21

Talents: Skinchanger, Mage, Dreamwalker.

"Waking up, I suddenly gained the talent of a Dreamwalker. Could that dream last night have actually happened?" Mufasa wondered.

He decided to find a suitable opportunity to verify it with Tywin.

"Visenya, if my mother is Aerys's illegitimate daughter, then Jon Snow and I are also cousins?" Mufasa murmured.

Half a month later, Mufasa handed a valyrian steel sword to Yohn Royce, who in turn gave Mufasa a set of Bronze Armor.

"I wonder if Ser Mufasa has named this sword?" Yohn Royce asked. He looked at the sword in his hand, very fond of the patterns on its blade.

Mufasa shook his head and said, "No, the naming rights are yours!"

"In that case, I shall call it Ghostslayer, to slay the Others and avenge my son!" Yohn Royce declared.

After exchanging some polite words, Mufasa planned to return to his alchemy.

"I wonder if Mufasa knows about the strange tales in King's Landing these past few days?" Robar Royce asked, approaching Mufasa's side.

"Urban legends? Everyone knows about the Others; some urban legends are normal, don't take them to heart."

Mufasa waved his hand, indicating he wasn't interested.

"But a Septon died in the pool in front of the Grand Sept of Baelor. The Faith insisted on finding the murderer, but a day later, they changed their story, saying the Septon died from excessive drinking and drowned himself."

Robar Royce continued.

Mufasa stopped, patted the Charcoal Fire Dragon Colt's neck, and let it run in the forest for a while.

Mufasa began to listen to the specific details. After hearing Robar Royce's full account, Mufasa felt that things were not as simple as they seemed.

"Some people say the ghost of the Mad King has returned, along with many Targaryen ghosts, and they want to take revenge on all who betrayed them," Robar Royce whispered.

"How can one person rule as king?"

"Aerys was abandoned by all, which led to his final fate. He betrayed his friends, ministers, vassals, and people; no one else betrayed him!" Mufasa said.

"Although this urban legend sounds very real, I don't think it will endanger everyone in King's Landing yet."

Mufasa whistled, then called the Charcoal Fire Dragon Colt back. He mounted his horse and began to return to The Red Keep.

After returning to The Red Keep, Mufasa intended to continue his alchemy.

But before he could even set up his crucible, Myrcella rushed over, her face looking troubled.

"Mufasa, it's terrible! I heard Margaery is gravely ill and bedridden. Let's go see her!"

Myrcella had two best friends in King's Landing: Sansa Stark and Margaery Tyrell. These were her recently made friends; their status as daughters of dukes qualified them to be friends with the Princess.

"She's gravely ill?" Mufasa expressed doubt; Margaery didn't seem like a frail woman!

"Alright! Let's take some gifts and go see her!" Mufasa said.

He returned to his room to prepare some gifts, including the newly drawn 'Calming Potion,' which could soothe the mind and spirit, preventing nightmares and insomnia.

There was also a drawn Buddha Charm, which could protect one from disturbances by ghosts and spirits.

Finally, Mufasa took some Strawberry Cakes and several bags of Grass Biscuits, and went with Myrcella to see Margaery.

Although the House Tyrell didn't used to live in King's Landing, with their wealth, they could still occupy a large residence in the valuable land of King's Landing, like a small palace.

Mufasa met Loras and Garlan, as well as their eldest brother.

Willas already felt sensation returning to his leg, and he estimated that he would be able to stand up in another month or two.

"Mufasa, you've come! And Princess Myrcella?" Willas greeted them.

"Willas, how is Margaery? Can we go see her?" Myrcella asked.

"She is receiving treatment from Grand Maester Pycelle. You can wait a moment! Don't disturb the Grand Maester," Willas said, hesitating.

"Is the Maester treating her Grand Maester Pycelle? Then it's fine, let's go," Mufasa said.

Other maesters might be displeased if disturbed while treating a patient, but Grand Maester Pycelle was a fan of Tywin! So it didn't matter.

Mufasa gently knocked on the door, then entered Margaery's room.

It was a room with a strong girlish atmosphere, filled with many valuable carpets, tables, chairs, and screens.

Grand Maester Pycelle saw that the person who entered was Mufasa; his expression, which had not yet turned to anger, changed to a benevolent one.

"Ser Mufasa! And Princess Myrcella!"

Myrcella also peeked out from behind Mufasa. She saw Margaery on the bed; she had lost weight, a lot of weight.

"Margaery, are you alright?" she asked.

"Very uncomfortable, a headache, and I often have nightmares at night, dreaming of terrifying creatures in the deep sea," Margaery said.

"Deep sea, could you have thalassophobia?" Mufasa asked.

"What is thalassophobia, Ser Mufasa?" Grand Maester Pycelle asked.

"thalassophobia is a specific situational phobia, referring to an irrational, intense, and persistent fear of deep-sea environments, a type of anxiety disorder.

I think Margaery isn't simply 'afraid of water,' but rather has an excessive fear of 'unknown, claustrophobic, and oppressive' elements in the deep-sea environment, possibly even triggering strong physiological and psychological reactions when exposed to related objects," Mufasa said.

"However, this condition usually occurs in sailors. Margaery, you don't often go out to sea, do you?" Mufasa asked.

She shook her head, "I've never sailed on the sea alone; at most, I've only taken a boat to play in the river."
