Chapter 163 - Chapter 159. Lynx, killer whale, and arcane items.

"Yes, I do know the Director of Rhine Lab... but that was a long time ago."

At a regular bus stop in front of the Rhine Lab Industrial Park, Takela Valley, Saint Foucault City.

A handsome Feline woman in a business suit, her face hidden by a hood, with light green cat ears perked on either side, was sitting cross-legged, speaking in a low voice to someone on her phone.

The sky was gloomy, and the drizzling rain was steadily intensifying. Equally somber, to the point of being able to wring water from it, was Kaltsit's face.

"Hmm? How long ago—just kidding, I would never speculate on a lady's age. But it seems you two are quite familiar?"

Goki's somewhat teasing voice came through the phone to Kaltsit's ears, but Kaltsit was used to his flippant nature. She merely sighed and said nothing more.

The man on the other end of the phone now shared the same goal as her and was doing the same thing she had done in the past and was doing now—stopping certain madmen from dragging this world into an abyss of no return.

And according to him... the Director of Rhine Lab knew more than Kaltsit had imagined.

"At that time, I was a professor of Catastrophe Studies at Fortress Hill Polytechnic University, and she was my student. Her talent was extraordinary, and her curiosity for the unknown was equally strong... She once sought me out when she was at Rhine Lab to discuss the issue of gods. She said she had successfully implanted a power that made her 'more perfect' into a Sarkaz child—we parted on bad terms."

Sighing, the image of that innocent Caprini girl, and her long horn that always hit the doorframe when she left, surfaced in Kaltsit's mind.

"Are you sure the Director of Rhine Lab intends to meddle in the Domain of non-humans, Goki—whose power did she use?"

Looking up at the towering, iconic building piercing the rain curtain, Kaltsit's gaze sharpened.

Kaltsit did indeed have a student, but if this student built her achievements on the basis of harming this world... then she would soon no longer have this student.

Cleaning house... Kaltsit hated such actions, but if necessary, she would do it.

"Hey, hey, it's not that serious. I think Madam Director chose this path after careful consideration—we need to ask her first, don't leave any regrets due to a moment's impulse, okay?"

"I have my own way of judging—are we acting now?"

"No, I need to review the material again, and... I need to strengthen myself. Since it will all be destroyed in the end, these powers might as well be used by me."

On the other end of the phone, Goki's voice was not urgent. Kaltsit didn't know the reason for his calmness.

Perhaps Goki was always like this, or perhaps... just as she thought, this guy Goki was not like the myriad beings on the continent of Terra, merely playthings of the gods.

He was a hunter, and although his current power might not be strong, he was still... a hunter.

The cat ears on her head twitched twice, and Kaltsit nodded.

"Alright, I'll support you anytime, Goki—Skadi will too. Be careful."

"Thanks for your concern, believe me, this matter will be resolved smoothly—tell Skadi not to be too anxious, I'm fine. You should also be careful, I'm very worried about you, Teacher Kaltsit~~"

"I've never cared about you, and I don't need your concern. Do your own thing."

Hanging up the phone, Kaltsit looked at the white-haired girl not far away, standing in the rain, letting the raindrops hit her black raincoat, staring intently at the top of the building.

Skadi's hands were resting on a greatsword disguised as architectural paneling. Her crimson eyes, devoid of the laziness and innocence they held at home, had returned to the sharp intensity and power of a hunter.

Now, she was like a true Orca, having found a school of fish, waiting only for the leader's command to begin the final encirclement and devouring.

She was staring intently at a certain floor at the top of the building, feeling a faint connection with Goki through their shared Bloodline.

No, it wasn't just relying on the Abyssal Hunter's Bloodline; Skadi had a feeling she could sense Goki was there.

And this building was filled with the Qi of prey.

Every muscle in her body was tensed, ready to spring into action.

"Heh... good."

Kaltsit watched Skadi, her cat ears involuntarily swaying back and forth twice.

The feeling of completely trusting someone... Kaltsit hadn't felt it in a long time.

She didn't expect to have such a person she could completely trust, but... she hoped Skadi and Goki could always trust each other like this.

"Heh..."

In the darkroom of the warehouse, Goki hung up the phone, shrugged, and put away the Church Stone Hammer, which was stained with glass shards.

With his current power, he could barely wield the Church Stone Hammer with one hand.

The two cabinets in front of him, containing familiar tools and emanating the powers of two different gods, had been easily shattered by his heavy stone hammer.

Without hesitation, he directly picked up the damaged third umbilical cord and teleported it into his mind—this thing was a scourge no matter where it existed.

The third umbilical cord was not a nuclear weapon, it had no world-destroying power, but Goki knew how much wisdom and knowledge of the Great One it contained.

Even just a small section, the knowledge within it would be enough for the Director to realize what kind of danger this world truly existed in.

Seeing this umbilical cord, Goki immediately understood why she had collected so many divine relics and was not focused on Rhine Lab's other research.

When a person realizes that there are so many monsters and demons in the world, and that the real world is merely a small boat that can capsize at any moment, she will definitely grasp at every straw she can find.

Turning his head, he looked at Muelsyse / Muir Sais, who was in a daze. Goki reached out and pinched her dewy cheek.

It was truly dewy, otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to spray Goki's palm with water just now.

"Don't, don't touch me! Did I hear correctly? You, you really want to be an enemy of the Director? Are you not joking—don't go looking for death!"

Muelsyse / Muir Sais slapped Goki's hand away, her eyes full of disbelief, as if looking at a madman.

"I admit you're amazing, but don't actually go straight to the Director to die, she's not a woman to be trifled with!"

Muelsyse / Muir Sais was now very interested in Goki, especially wanting to know the identity of the man in front of her, and also hoping he would bring her some benefits.

After all, no matter what, she now had quite a few things on Goki.

If he died... then everything would be gone!

"Alright, alright, thank you for worrying about me, Muelsyse / Muir Sais, but I know what I'm doing—your Director is very likely doing something with good intentions that will turn out badly."

Raising his hand, he rubbed the little bird's head. Goki naturally knew what he was doing.

With Kaltsit for strategy and Skadi for combat, he could even just slack off.

However, if the Director wasn't stopped in time, and she really did something terrible... then it wouldn't be a problem that three people could solve.

"I know you're worried about me, but Muelsyse / Muir Sais, please tell me what the Director was saying just now—this isn't just about me, it also concerns all of Rhine Lab and all of Columbia."

"Don't touch my head, it's annoying! I won't tell you—why won't you listen to advice! You're making me so angry! I warn you, I rarely care about others, and I won't allow you to go die before I've squeezed all your secrets dry!"

The feathers on both sides of her head puffed out indignantly. Muelsyse / Muir Sais only regretted that she was merely a fragile Clone now and couldn't hit Goki with a water blade—though she definitely couldn't win, it would certainly be satisfying.

"Yes, yes, Mumu is so good, I'm starting to like you a little."

Upon hearing Muelsyse / Muir Sais's words, Goki rubbed her little face even more brazenly—since he was already planning to resign, there was no need to be respectful to Mumu and maintain his persona.

"But, are you really not going to tell me?"

Saying this, a mischievous smile appeared on Goki's face. He held Muelsyse / Muir Sais's defenceless shoulders, stepped over the Mind-sucker's corpse which was gradually decomposing into silver ashes, and curved her lips upwards.

"No—you, what are you trying to do? Wow, you, you pervert, you won't even spare pure water! Although it feels the same, I'm just a Clone!"

Seeing the smile on Goki's face, Muelsyse / Muir Sais suddenly thought of something. She immediately covered her chest with both hands, trying hard to dismiss her Clone, but still to no avail.

Muelsyse / Muir Sais seemed very jumpy, but in reality, she was very cautious, otherwise, she wouldn't always send her Clone out to meet people. From childhood to adulthood, this was the first time she had fallen into such a dangerous situation that she couldn't control.

Well, actually, it was the second time. When Goki killed the Mind-sucker just now, she had obediently cowered in the corner with her hands over her head.

"Eh—are you thinking that way? Muelsyse / Muir Sais, could it be that you're actually very lustful?"

Hearing Muelsyse / Muir Sais's words, Goki paused for a second, then smiled even brighter.

Immediately after, Goki pulled out a green, viscous, tentacled, slug-like creature from his pocket, which he had just obtained from another storage cabinet.

"Lustful my foot, I've never even been in a relationship—what is that, it's so disgusting, don't touch me!"

The next second, an overwhelming flood of tentacles surged towards Muelsyse / Muir Sais's ticklish spots before she could finish her rebuttal.

"Pfft, pfft—pfft hahahahahahaha!"

The next second, Muelsyse / Muir Sais finally couldn't hold back her trembling lips and burst into laughter.

Goki had found another weapon of his own—a mystical Dao tool.

In a sense, he was the one most keen on grave robbing.
