A beam of light suddenly fell into a base suspended in geostationary orbit above Earth.
When the light faded, Harry and Thor found themselves in an unfamiliar place.
The first thing they saw was an enormous circular hall. Its ceiling was a dome made from countless flickering blue crystals, all woven together into intricate, beautiful patterns, like a living map of the stars. At the center of the hall stood a massive holographic projection table displaying mysterious symbols and constantly shifting energy curves. A ring of control consoles surrounded it, and each console held strange technological creations whose designs were hard to understand at a glance.
Several figures stood directly in front of Harry and Thor. They looked at Harry with smiles and explained, "Don't worry, friends. You've been rescued. We used a cross-dimensional teleportation device to pull you out of Ultron's encirclement."
Harry looked at them with a slightly odd expression. He recognized who they were, the Fantastic Four, along with Christine Palmer, Strange's girlfriend. But he also knew these people were not from his universe. They came from another one.
That immediately made Harry think of an organization with quite a reputation across the multiverse, the Illuminati.
The Illuminati had been founded by Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Professor X, Black Bolt, and Namor. Its purpose was somewhat similar to the Avengers, mainly to deal with individuals or groups capable of threatening the world. Among them, Iron Man and Mister Fantastic were both astonishingly brilliant. Working with other scientists, they had invented all kinds of unimaginable technology.
For example, that golden beam from earlier, the one that had ignored space itself and struck him directly, was probably one of the more powerful technological creations they possessed.
After suddenly being pulled to an unfamiliar place by a group of strangers, and while he still needed to save his people, Thor became furious despite having grown much steadier after everything he had experienced.
"Who are you people? Why did you bring us here? I need to go back now. My people are bleeding. People are dying every second. They're waiting for me to save them."
Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards, raised a hand and drew an arc through the air. A floating holographic screen suddenly unfolded between them.
Thor's roar stopped abruptly. On the screen, Asgard's golden walls were being bombarded by Kree energy cannons, but the flying rubble hung motionless in midair, and even the smoke had frozen into semi-transparent clouds. His comrades were frozen in the middle of raising their weapons. One young warrior's battle-ax had just split open a Kree soldier's helmet, and the terrified expression on the soldier's face had been preserved in perfect detail.
Reed tapped the screen with a fingertip. The image immediately zoomed in, and he explained with a trace of pride, "There's no need to worry, Thor, God of Thunder. No matter how long you stay with the Illuminati, it will not affect that war."
"We have already used a time-stabilization device to lock Asgard's time in place. Time there has stopped."
"To put it simply, Asgard's current time flow is zero. You could argue here for an hour, or stay here for three days, and the battle there would not move forward by even a single step."
Thor looked at the scene in confusion. He turned toward Harry, and only after seeing Harry nod slightly did he finally breathe out in relief. His tightly clenched fists slowly loosened, and he regained his composure. He looked at Mister Fantastic and asked, "What is your purpose? Why are you helping us?"
Mister Fantastic brought up another image. This one showed a mechanical giant nearly ten feet tall.
The giant's body was covered in dense magical runes, and it radiated an astonishing presence. What shocked Thor even more was that six colorful Infinity Stones were embedded in the machine giant's chest.
Mister Fantastic continued, "This is Ultron, an artificial intelligence that mutated because of the Mind Stone. He possesses nearly limitless growth potential."
"Not long ago, he completed his magical vibranium body and collected the six Infinity Stones from one universe, embedding them in his chest to provide himself with endless power."
"After that, he began expanding his mechanical army on a massive scale, and your world falls within the scope of his ambition."
"Because he needs enormous amounts of metal, especially certain high-strength magical alloys, he has been searching the entire multiverse for weakened versions of Asgard and finding ways to invade them so he can seize Uru alloy."
"In your universe, Odin died only recently, leaving Asgard in its weakest period in thousands of years."
"That is why he infiltrated the Supreme Intelligence of the Kree Empire, used the empire's resources to create a mechanical legion, and sent it to invade Asgard."
"And we must stop Ultron's plan at all costs. Otherwise, if he is allowed to collect enough magical alloy and create an even stronger body, I fear he will become a new calamity for the entire multiverse."
After saying all that, Mister Fantastic somehow produced a glass of water and slowly drank from it. At the same time, he waited for Thor and Harry to show their gratitude.
Thor, God of Thunder, and a mage. Both were promising talents. After some assessment, perhaps they could even be brought into the Illuminati.
But after a long moment, there was still no reaction from the two people in front of him. Mister Fantastic grew somewhat displeased. After all, he had saved them. Surely they could not give him no response at all.
He did not expect a gift, but at the very least, they should thank him verbally.
Mister Fantastic was a genius, so he did not let his displeasure show on his face. But the Human Torch behind him did not have that level of restraint.
The Human Torch stepped forward until he stood in front of Mister Fantastic, then looked at Harry and Thor with an unhappy expression.
"What is wrong with you two? We saved you. You don't have anything to say? At least say thank you."
Thor glanced at Harry. Seeing that Harry had no intention of responding, he sighed and said helplessly, "Before you acted, did you actually investigate the situation clearly? Can this so-called Ultron really conquer Asgard?"
Thor's words made the Human Torch even more unhappy. His expression filled with disdain, and he said as if it were obvious, "After Odin's death, Asgard can't even hold off the Kree, let alone Ultron with six Infinity Stones."
"If nothing unexpected happens, Asgard can hold out for three days at most. After three days, it will be completely breached and occupied."
Thor fell silent.
Indeed, what the Human Torch said was not wrong. If Asgard relied only on itself, it would definitely not last long before its defenses were broken.
But that was only if they had no outside help.
So Thor asked, "You're so certain Asgard will be occupied. Did it never occur to you that we might ask for help?"
"Who can Asgard possibly ask to help fight the Kree? And even if you can defeat the Kree, who could possibly fight a six-Stone Ultron?" the Human Torch said, glancing at Thor with disdain.
Now Thor was completely certain that this seemingly powerful Illuminati organization did not know the details about Harry.
At that moment, Thor's wariness toward this unknown organization vanished, and his confidence returned.
He pointed at Harry and asked, "Do you know who he is?"
The Human Torch looked confused. "Isn't he just an ordinary mage? Who else could he be?"
Thor did not bother looking at that idiot again. He turned his gaze to Mister Fantastic and, sure enough, saw Mister Fantastic looking thoughtful.
However, Mister Fantastic was ultimately a man who focused on experiments and did not know much about all kinds of multiversal intelligence. He did not recognize Harry, so he asked the friends behind him, "Do any of you recognize him?"
Most of them shook their heads. Only this universe's Doctor Strange stared fixedly at Harry's face, as if he had finally remembered something. Then he said in shock, "The Godslayer, Harry Potter!"
"Godslayer?" Mister Fantastic's hand froze in the middle of adjusting his glasses, and his fingers, which had been sliding across the holographic screen, stopped in midair.
He quickly pulled up the database, fingers flying across a virtual keyboard. A large amount of information about Harry immediately appeared on the screen.
Strangely, however, Harry's appearance in those records was extremely blurry. Almost every image of him was shielded by a layer of dazzling energy, making it impossible to see what he truly looked like.
From beginning to end, Harry had deliberately avoided exposing his appearance so that people from other universes would not seek out his universe because of his reputation.
After all, anyone capable of crossing parallel universes usually possessed considerable ability, and among them there would definitely be bad people. If his own universe were invaded by these people on a large scale, even Harry would find it troublesome.
That was the exact reason Mister Fantastic had failed to identify Harry at first.
Of course, there was another reason.
Every time Harry entered his complete spacetime state, he gained the ability to affect the multiverse. During those periods, he had erased information about himself from other parallel universes. As a result, most factions did not know what Harry looked like, nor did they know the numbered universe he came from.
Hydra and the other organizations that had invaded Harry's universe before had dared to do so precisely because of that.
Otherwise, they would have stayed far away.
After all, the multiverse was endless. When the buffet was infinite, there was no need to chew through a brick wall.
Harry's identity shocked the members of the Illuminati, but they soon recovered.
With the Godslayer Harry Potter present, was their attempt to help Asgard defeat six-Stone Ultron really necessary at all?
No matter how powerful six-Stone Ultron was, he was still only a universal-level powerhouse. Harry Potter, on the other hand, had made even multiversal-level Mephisto suffer a huge loss.
The Illuminati members immediately became awkward, especially the Human Torch. After all, he had just mocked Thor and assumed Thor and Harry were ungrateful, only to discover that he himself was the joke.
The atmosphere among them suddenly became awkward.
In the end, Thor was the first to speak. "You don't need to feel too guilty. Although everything you did was of no help to us, your intentions were good…"
As he kept speaking, Thor gradually fell silent.
Because he realized his attempt at comfort had no effect at all. Instead, it made the Illuminati members' expressions look even worse.
Harry held his forehead, feeling helpless.
No, Thor. Thor, are you comforting them, or are you secretly mocking them?
Mister Fantastic knew Thor meant no harm. After all, that was simply his personality in the vast majority of parallel universes.
After a moment of silence, he thought for a while and said, "Since Mr. Potter is here, then what we did was unnecessary. We will send you back now and release the time-stabilization device. I imagine you will be able to resolve Ultron quickly."
Harry shook his head, refusing Mister Fantastic's proposal.
"I would like the Illuminati to come with us. After all, our enemy is Ultron, and you are more familiar with his various abilities. I believe you can provide us with a great deal of help."
"Besides, when facing a universal-level powerhouse, I will need to release more of my power. That power is difficult to control and may cause an even greater crisis."
The members of the Illuminati looked at one another. In the end, Mister Fantastic agreed to Harry's suggestion.
The Illuminati finally decided that Doctor Strange would lead the members of the Illuminati to assist Asgard.
Under Doctor Strange's guidance, the group entered a sealed room.
A complicated password was entered at the door, followed by a series of complex checks, including fingerprint, retinal, and blood verification. Only then did the sealed door slowly open.
After walking inside, Harry and Thor saw a circular metal gate roughly thirty feet in diameter.
Within the gate was a constantly rotating energy vortex, like a wormhole, leading to somewhere unknown.
Harry looked at the circular metal gate and asked curiously, "Is this the machine you use to travel through parallel universes?"
Doctor Strange nodded and explained, "Reed and Tony are both geniuses."
"The cross-dimensional teleportation device they developed together can send us to the vast majority of universes, or dimensions."
"The golden light conduit that brought you to the Illuminati earlier is one of this machine's functions."
Even Thor, prince of Asgard, was shocked by such astonishing technology. "Incredible. If Asgard could have a cross-dimensional teleportation device like this, that would be wonderful."
Suddenly, this universe's Doctor Strange smiled and said, "Then you can ask Master Potter. With his mastery of magic, he has long since become capable of stabilizing portals across different universes."
Doctor Strange's words carried immense respect for Harry.
That was not surprising. Because of Harry's many achievements, the lives of Kamar-Taj across different universes had recently become much easier. Most of the Dimensional Demon Gods hostile to Kamar-Taj had turned their attention to Harry and temporarily set them aside.
And Harry was also an extraordinarily powerful mage who had mastered all kinds of unbelievable magic. Naturally, he was respected by many mages across the multiverse.
After the cross-dimensional teleportation device was activated, everyone stepped into it.
When they opened their eyes again, they had already arrived in the skies above Asgard.
