It was already 3 AM, and yet the Luminary Kingdom, Squadra Diciotto, was still fighting nonstop. Reiju smiled to himself, his eyes glowing every time Raizen tried to attack him using his dimensional sword.
Raizen finally reached his peak and moved faster. Before Reiju could react, Raizen used his dimensional cutting, and Reiju stumbled back, coughing blood.
"I see, Raizen. I'm so glad you explained your abilities, and thanks to my mind…"
He smirked and pulled out his sword.
"I'm so happy for you, Raizen, but I don't feel bad for you for not reaching your stupid dream."
Raizen raised his eyebrows and smirked.
"Yo, I know why you're being so calm. I think you're scared of me. All you did was dodge my attacks? HAHAHA!"
"You even failed to experiment with the Energy Extraction Chamber, so what now? Stupid scientist."
Reiju smiled calmly. "I'm happy to hear that, Raizen, but thanks for being fake loyal to me, and I'm sorry if I'm late to explain my abilities."
Raizen raised his eyebrows and laughed.
"Stupid abilities, and I wonder why your eyes are always glowing, huh?"
Reiju smirked and looked at him, then laughed.
"You noticed, and you kept attacking me."
"Who the hell do you think you are?! Oh wait…" Raizen remembered every time he attacked, the way Reiju didn't always dodge, and how his dimensional sword didn't cut through space.
Raizen glared at him. "Who the hell are you?!"
Reiju smirked wider. "Every time my eyes glow, it manipulates space and time. So, any questions?"
Raizen's face fell. What the hell is this guy…? That's why he survived my hundreds of attacks… Did he close the space? What the… no… I'm not helpless. I promised my beautiful wife…
Raizen moved faster and lunged forward.
Reiju's eyes glowed, but this time Raizen was smart. He didn't attack directly he kicked Reiju until his glowing eyes shut down, then stabbed him.
Reiju smirked to himself. He's smart, even if he's stupid… but that was the wrong move. I haven't explained something yet.
Then suddenly, Raizen got stabbed too. His eyes widened.
Destruction manipulation?
No… no… I'm losing? Stupid…
Raizen died.
Reiju stood up and looked at him.
"How strong… well, that's all. Thanks for the show…"
He looked back at his scientist residential. It was now broken. His knees dropped to the ground, and he opened his hand, revealing a picture of a beautiful woman.
His eyes filled with tears as he looked up at the ruined place.
"It's broken… I broke our promise… I'm a bad person… I'm not good at keeping promises…"
He looked at the picture.
"Yaka… I'm really, really sorry… I hope you never forgive me… I broke our place, our own residential…"
"I broke your promise every time… sometimes I even took off my mask… I'm such a bad man… I wish I could be there… I could control myself… how?"
One hundred forty-two years ago,
When Reiju and Yaka were kids, they played in a room with solid, liquid, and gas experiments. Yaka loved science. She was so smart, and even though Reiju wasn't good at science, he wished he could be but he was lazy. Yaka was kind. They were best friends.
Yaka promised him that when they grew up, they would build their own residential. Reiju smiled and promised too. They both grew up and graduated.
Yaka surprised him in the Luminary Kingdom with a scientist residential. Reiju was still not good at science, but Yaka taught him. One day, they made a volcano experiment, and it exploded into Reiju's face. That was when Yaka gave him a mask.
Reiju felt shy and insecure, but Yaka smiled and told him not to worry. She said she still found him more handsome than any model.
Days later, Reiju studied science seriously. He worked hard so he could surprise Yaka too. Until one day, he received a call from Yaka's mother.
"Reiju… I'm really sorry… Yaka is dead… I… I saw her last night… she had no heart… and her body was eaten by a monster… I'm really sorry…"
Reiju dropped the phone.
He cried out, and from that moment, he decided he would never break his promise.
But now… he broke it.
He hated promises because he couldn't keep them. He wished he could have been a better man for Yaka. He had been thinking about her for hundreds of years, waiting for her to come back… but nothing happened.
He became a scientist because of her.
Reiju never talked to other women, never went outside. He made the residential his home.
And now… it was broken.
He wished he could disappear. He wished he could trade his life for hers. But he was still alive after hundreds of years.
He was immortal.
And he hated it.
Because what was the point of being immortal… when the only thing he cared about was gone?
Reiju suddenly remembered something.
Raizen liked children… and ate their hearts.
Was it… him?
Reiju stood up and walked toward Raizen. He kicked his body again and again and again until it became unrecognizable.
Then he grabbed Raizen's dimensional sword. Since Raizen explained that it could cut through space and even the soul, it meant no one could come back from it.
Reiju stood still for a moment.
Then-
He stabbed himself.
Hundreds of years of waiting for Yaka… and this was the end?
He smiled softly as he saw a familiar face.
"Yaka…"
His vision turned black.
And he was finally
Gone.
