Students were excited to go back to the academy after their internship after a long period of time from experiencing their work studies once again. Some were complaining about the amount of work that they had to deal with while others were generally excited to experience it again although the seniors on the final year level just expressed themselves to know what division they'll enter after graduation.
The magenta haired girl was walking around as she wondered what other things she could do for now since she haven't seen Rei for a while nor been able to talk with him properly due to the workload that either both of them had to deal with although the male was the one who couldn't reply or text her the most.
"I wonder where he is right now…" Sylvie thought to herself before heading over to the library after texting with Ha-Eun and Jinah's invite for their usual talks or hangouts ever since they bonded during the internship.
Needless to say, she felt much better than before since the loneliness was catching up to her if she hadn't tried to be friends with the two all because of Rei being in a different place during the internship.
"Would you look at that?"
Sylvie looked behind her as she saw Malcolm, all smug as if he had just found a new prey to hunt. "Where's your knight? Is he tired of being with you?" He mocked her as she was immediately surrounded by his group. Malcolm was about to do his worst when a burst of flames had burned his hand.
"Really? Doing this thing early and making trouble after the internship immediately?" Keitaro asked, his eyes glowing a bright shade of blue as he manifested more flames to shoot it out towards the rest of the lackeys.
"Ha-Eun told me that you're going to the library. Might as well escort you since people really don't learn their lesson." The blue haired male said as Sylvie followed suit although they were intervened by Haru.
"You know. I thought that coward would be with you but looks like he's even more of a pxssy that I expected." Haru said before walking closer to them, "I do wonder if he has the guts to back it up."
Keitaro was caught off guard when Haru had activated his prowess, an aura that almost felt close to his level and Rei or maybe slightly higher than them. "Fuck!" The blue haired male gritted his teeth before activating his prowess as both his flames and Haru's flame clashed into each other.
Just like what he had expected, the black flames started to devour his own on a slight degree as he tried his best to defend himself and Sylvie since the other group had already tried to use the distraction.
Some of Malcolm's lackey was immediately interrupted with a couple of shadow wolves while another had a faint glow of bright blue that had something marked right in the middle of their chest before a short girl with black hair had immediately dashed in to punch them right at the marked spot which sent them a few feet away.
Jinah and Ha-Eun were defending Sylvie after they had waited for long enough til hearing one of the gossips and noises then commotion that was happening.
"That's enough!"
A string of blood that had emerald green energy emitting had immediately tightened around Malcolm and his lackeys while Haru's lower half of his body was encased in ice that had aqua blue energy emitting.
Eunji and Rinka, both eyes glowing bright while they emitted their own signature colour of their spiritual energy on their aura. "You dare to disrespect the headmaster's wishes to be in peace? Aren't y'all ashamed?" The strawberry blonde asked as she checked on the group if there were any injuries especially with her little sister then Sylvie while Rinka was tightening the strings that was wrapped around Malcolm's group.
"You people are gonna meet with the headmaster. Whether y'all like it or not." Rinka uttered as she glared at the group then to Haru.
Suddenly, a burst of purplish flames went to destroy the ice that Haru was encased in while the strings were cut along the waves. "Wow. Interfering at a junior's commotion?" Neon teased, mocking them for doing such things.
"If you're standing in that magenta haired girl's place to fight then I would stand in as Haru's fighter." The green haired male said as he immediately overpowered Eunji, each strike hitting her at the vital spots which was dangerously close to crippling her.
Rinka, on the other hand was about to join but had to intercept when Haru used the opportunity to try harming the group as she manifested a blood shield that immediately hardened although its durability soon melted from the heat of the black flames.
What's worse was that Keitaro was struggling to defend the group when Malcolm had his lackeys overwhelm them with numbers while Haru had one of his lackeys to join them. Ha-Eun and Jinah were already struggling as one guy managed to get out of their view as they managed to get close to Sylvie.
Eunji realised it too late when her passive ability had picked up on the newly activated prowess within the vicinity. An energy that shaped itself into a form a sledgehammer which had also triggered Sylvie's trauma from the incident as instead of moving, she stood still.
"NO!" Eunji screamed as she tried her best to run immediately to her except someone had beaten her to it as all of the sudden, the atmosphere within the area became chilly and eerie.
From Sylvie's shadow, Rei emerged as he caught the energy hammer with his bare left hand while the other cracked his finger before making a fist. "Don't die from this." The black haired male said as his spiritual energy coated his hand.
Meanwhile, the person who was holding the hammer had his eyes widened. "I know he's strong but is he even touching it or am I that delusional?" The person thought to themselves, his eyes staring onto Rei's hand who was holding the hammer without directly touching it.
Rinka was impressed with Rei's spiritual energy control as she could feel the precise control of the output and execution on it.
"Holy-"
The orange brown haired girl couldn't even finish her sentence the moment Rei's fist had landed into the guy's face upon pulling him down via the sledgehammer that he was holding on. A busty energy sparked as there were particles that suddenly appeared with various languages that wrote one to three things.
"Soul"
"Spiritual Energy"
"Execute"
Haru's eyes scanned the direction where Rei stood, he was expecting him to at least copy a prowess or two to fight but didn't expect him to do something like this. His aura seemed to be more different than the usual warm current of an endless void as the one that he was feeling is the essence of someone that seemed to be darkness itself.
"Oh? I didn't hit too hard… Right?" Rei questioned loudly while closing his hand slightly as a shadow flew out before grazing Haru's cheek slightly, who had barely reacted in time to avoid a fatal blow.
"Would you look at that? Looks like the 'blank' has her Prince in shining armor now!" Neon shouted before Haru immediately dashed in to start fighting with Rei who dodged him effortlessly with his hands inside his pocket while also using his shadows to put Sylvie out of harm's way.
Haru kept on trying to land a hit on him before becoming desperate as he drew out his katana to slice him although there was something invisible like a technique that allowed Rei to use his hands to touch the blade directly without getting injured when catching it or changing the direction of its swing.
The white haired male became more desperate as he tried his best to cut him down although Rei's attention seemed to be directed to Eunji who was almost getting beaten up by Neon who had already raised his hand with a dagger that seemed to be directed at the strawberry blonde's eye.
"Jeez… Looks like I gotta use it…" Rei said before parrying Haru's katana as he immediately vanished.

Neon wasn't focused as all he cared was to show Eunji the consequences of not paying attention to him nor when rejecting his romantic advances ever since he got the opportunity to fight her due the current situation.
However, he couldn't feel his right arm since he already made a motion of stabbing her but what he felt was something missing like hollow although a sudden noise could be heard of something falling before Neon looked over to his left.
His right arm which was still holding the usual dagger that he enjoyed carrying around. It confused him for a second before looking at his supposedly right arm which he couldn't find except for the blood that was spilling.
Then everything went chaotic as he screamed from the burning sensation of his limb missing. "Fxck! You insane brat!" Neon shouted as his gaze went over to Rei who was standing on where his right arm had landed while holding what seemed to be a sickle.
"Oh god… That sickle…" one of the students muttered weakly.
"Isn't that…" another one whispered before one voice had silenced the whole area.
"He's the 'Shadow Reaper'?"
Eunji's eyes widened while Neon looked in total disbelief, after all, how could a mere brat who could barely fight him before was able to cut him this immediately without any trouble but that didn't matter as he had already channelled his spiritual energy to send out a powerful attack except Rei made a motion.
"That's cute. We are supposed to register our weapons upon returning back to the academy but it looks like we get to show off for a bit." Rei said with a tone so creepy that it made almost everyone within the area fear him naturally.
His left hand pointed towards Neon with his index and middle finger along with his thumb out while the rest closed onto his palms.
"Recoil."
All of the sudden, Neon felt something heavy that cut him deep into his torso as blood immediately gushed out of him. It almost felt like getting hit with his own attack except it wasn't a burning sensation or high heat of his own flames but rather a stinging pain from a deep cut.
Neon couldn't even finish his words when the male had already gone in who already held his face before being slammed into the ground which brought the chaotic scene to a halt.
"Who's next?" Rei asked although he didn't give anyone the chance as Haru heard a scream as he looked over to see most of the lackeys then Malcolm along with his group being slashed around with something invisible before dropping onto the floor.
Haru dared to fight but the moment he drew his blade, a sudden gush of blood spilled out of chest before he spits out blood as he looked over to chest with a deep cut as he lost consciousness while falling down to the floor.
The entire scene had engraved most of the witnesses of one thing in mind.
A reaper that didn't stop nor hesitate from harvesting a soul.
