Keitaro was writing every detail of Sylvie's the next day after letting her rest and calm down from the announcement of yesterday's news. While it sounded bizarre and a total clustered mess, it was almost the same as those of the cold case; however her statement had also taken them off guard especially with the weakening technique that she mentioned.
Those were never mentioned from the old cases although Keitaro knew something was happening when Sylvie's situation went into that way as he could only assume one thing.
They were getting bolder, wiser and going further to cripple someone. While it was stated from most of the cold cases that most victims are either dead or left powerless, Sylvie's situation was a unique one. After all, most of what the reports have stated was they were attacked alone but the magenta haired girl had Rei, Hinata, Erika and Haruki.
It didn't make sense that they were to attack the group especially when there were two God-Tier and three mid-tier at least. Rei Nishimura had the ancient being that resided within him which would be used as the last resort of fighting back but couldn't. So, why was it that it went to have three mid-tiers dying then Sylvie being left powerless while Rei unscathed?
Keitaro's eyes widened when he continued to read the statement that Ha-Eun managed to get from yesterday.
"A creature that she encountered along with senior Eunji before attending Kamigami. It had a strange presence similar to the 'Fallen'."
The premeditated attack went wrong, their target was probably Rei since he was a God-Tier that had the ancient being within him. If the weakening technique somehow managed to suppressed the incarnated Relic then it would make sense that their situation went worse than expected.
"Looks like I gotta submit what I have assumed for now…" the blue haired male uttered to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose before arranging the documents and his report to submit to the chief of the investigation department.
Once he had submitted his report and findings, the chief had immediately gave Keitaro the warrant that he needed to check the academy's system after requesting permission since his findings had gotten through Sylvie's case with her situation being sent out from a mission which was utterly confusing.
Why was it? It was because most new students that are going out on a mission are always accompanied by senior students especially in the Assault Division yet Eunji and Rinka themselves weren't there to accompany them.
Keitaro had asked Eunji for her statement which she immediately handed him what she recalled from that day.
"Meeting with the headmaster before Eto found a mission request that's been approved to let Rei, Sylvie and a couple of people to scout an abandoned premises that's been ranked E."
There was no doubt that both he, the chief then probably the headmaster had something to check within the system to see who had requested then granted permission to it especially when the strawberry blonde had told Keitaro that every request are signed by the headmaster but the request wasn't on his paperwork and had only found out about it on the same day of the incident.
It was something that kept Keitaro wondering as he arrived at the academy not before seeing Eunji waiting at the gates. "Took you long enough, was wondering if you were gonna be denied access but looks like you got through." She said before the two started to walk towards the hallway, on their way to the headmaster's office.
"No. The chief also found it odd as he also requested for this not to be reported to the authorities ever since the case went cold and had not allowed us to investigate it again." Keitaro said, remembering how the chief looked frustrated after he entered the office upon seeing the official higher up that walked out of the room.
"That's oddly suspicious…" Eunji uttered while the blue haired male could only nod and let out a noise that agreed with her statement.
"Anyways, I guess we'll see if I'm able to get clues from the headmaster. So that our investigation could start as soon as possible since the department is already grabbing the backup files that we had stored in our old cards before the higher ups confiscated every report that we had." Keitaro said which surprised Eunji, after all, it was a risky move that they could get demoted or banished for disobeying the higher ups.

Keitaro had gotten the files from the headmaster after showing his warrant to search anything related to the case upon explaining the investigation that he was currently doing. What surprised him the most was how the headmaster looked more stressed as usual and the slipped up that he and Eunji managed to hear under his soft breath.
"Young Rei, What on earth are you trying to accomplish?"
It confuses them but couldn't dare to say anything as the headmaster could either dismiss it or ignore their question or anything about Rei, after all, the incident that happened to the male was a sensitive topic.
"You think Rei is investigating this by himself?" Keitaro asked Eunji, trying to understand what was happening at his internship.
"Probably not unless senior Sung is allowing him to do so while watching over his progress." Eunji responded before continuing, "Senior Sung didn't let me start my own investigation until he saw my potential before supervising my own work even after graduation."
Keitaro nodded his head, wondering if Rei had somehow shown Sung his potential although he had to push it away as Eunji gave her farewell to him while telling him to report to her if there's any findings since she was conducting her own investigation.
There was no doubt that the whole case would be solved if the entire investigation department, Eunji Jeong and Headmaster Sho were investigating the case themselves.
"Looks like we're gonna be busy for a while…" Keitaro said after checking the copies inside the box along with the USB that had the copy of the files that happened from the day along with the previous week or month to check every report or email that was sent to the headmaster.

The headmaster was having a headache after hearing the report from Jinwoo that Rei somehow managed to break a part of the cold case.
A suppression sealing method that was used in ancient history that managed to suppress powerful beings or individuals. It was lost in history since the law had forbidden the use of it since most individuals had suffered such gruesome faith.
"I hope you're doing what is right…" Sho uttered to himself after remembering what the male had said regarding Rei's mental state and current wellbeing.
"He's not hesitating to kill compared to what Eunji had told me about him last week from all the exercise drills that he had done before."
Sho sighed as he continued to do his own work before doing his investigation to get things done easily while punishing the one who had caused the incident.

Keitaro was having a headache, especially when reporting the whole thing to the chief as the whole department was now working a night shift to at least make a breakthrough. They needed to do it as soon as possible since it would be more difficult if it goes any longer before the case goes cold again.
"Ha-Eun, anything yet?" He asked as the black haired girl shook her head, "I see… Just keep up the work unless you're too exhausted. I'll continue the work. Jinah, you should go rest now as well. I don't need your brother visiting us to scold us for making you sleep late."
Jinah rolled her eyes, "Nope. I asked my brother to sleep late, and told him about the internship but not the work since he knows that I'll probably stay up late the more I get into this lifestyle." She said, which got Keitaro to nod his head.
"Alright. Just don't push yourself if it gets too frustrating. Take a break and take the time off to get rest. I'll handle the work before heading off if I still find no leads to it." Keitaro said which got the two girls nodding at him, proceeding to work hard although they couldn't find anything as the two went to take the time off.
The blue haired male knew he was close but just couldn't find anything yet before he headed off to take the time off before resuming again the next day.

Keitaro, in fact, did not rest as he continued the investigation as he couldn't sleep the night before. Ha-Eun already scolded him before Sylvie had entered the room, breaking their stressful atmosphere as she proceeded to join despite how the department had told her to take the time off while not getting involved since it could get personal.
However, the glint in her eyes had spoken out one thing that everyone had understood. Professionalism and order to provide help to the case.
"Double workload… Here we go…." Kwitaro thought to himself, wondering if Rei was having the same difficulty as them although he pushed it away once Sylvie was already on the second stack of paperwork as she checked every file and documents that could bring them closer to the truth.
