Chapter 18 - Chapter-16 Brackdown

A feint high.

Real attack low sweep.

Chunk followed half a heartbeat later—

Palm thrust aimed directly at Tanvir's heart.

No theatrics.

Just execution.

Tanvir launched a straight punch aiming at Chuk's throat.

Chunk, who saw Tanvir aiming at Chuk's throat, thought it wouldn't land.

But the next moment, he saw Chuk flying away from his side; the wind from that force brought Chunk, back to his senses.

He looked forward and saw Tanvir already an inch away from him.

He could not calculate the damage—it was already too late.

Tanvir sent Chunk toward the sky with an uppercut.

Chunk blinked, and when he opened his eyes, he again saw Tanvir midair, throwing another punch aimed at his face. Then the sound of crashing echoed everywhere as he hit the ground.

Chunk stayed silent for a while, giving Tanvir a chance to breathe.

Chunk slowly regained his vision. From the crater, with blurry eyes, he saw his companion—his brother—dead.

He saw Chuk's body hanging midair, pierced by multiple iron rods thrust into his chest, killing him instantly.

The moment he saw that, he ran toward Chuk.

Chunk just stayed there crying; his tears made the soil wet.

'What have you done, human? Chuk was the only family Chunk had, and you killed him!'

Moon's face twisted as she said this.

'One thing you should know about Betarins—when they are born as twins, they are halves of one whole.'

'But when one dies…'

Chuk's body cracked apart into white fragments—

Not flesh.

Not bone.

Energy.

A small white sphere floated upward.

It paused for a moment in front of Chunk's face.

Like a farewell.

Then—

It merged into his chest.

The ground trembled.

Chunk's breathing stopped.

Completely.

Silence.

Then—

A pulse.

White and black patterns across his body shifted.

The upper white expanded downward.

The lower black climbed upward.

They met at the center of his chest where the sphere fused.

His four arms twitched.

'The other one becomes complete.'

But now—

A faint second presence echoed in his voice.

When he spoke—

It was layered.

Two tones overlapping.

"…We are not two anymore."

The air around him began to distort violently.

His body flickered—

Half material.

Half translucent.

Chunk looked up slowly at Tanvir.

Red eyes now glowing brighter than before.

"You broke him."

His form sank slightly into the ground—

—but this time—

The soil cracked and bled upward instead of letting him phase cleanly.

He was no longer avoiding the physical plane.

He was overlapping it.

The temperature dropped.

Wind reversed direction.

"Ghost form…"

He stepped forward—

"…no longer means harmless."

Suddenly—

Chunk vanished.

Not underground.

Not around.

Through.

He passed directly through Tanvir's torso—

And this time—

Pain exploded from inside.

Internal damage.

Organs rupturing without external impact.

Chunk reappeared several meters away.

Still semi-transparent.

Blood began leaking from Tanvir's mouth again.

Chunk's dual voice echoed calmly:

"You relied on timing materialization."

He turned slowly.

"There is no timing anymore."

His body flickered rapidly—

Fully ghost.

Fully solid.

Ghost.

Solid.

Blood poured from Tanvir's mouth.

His knees bent—

—but he didn't fall.

Inside his chest, something felt torn.

Breathing burned.

Every inhale felt like swallowing glass.

Chunk's layered voice echoed across the battlefield.

"There is no timing anymore."

Ghost.

Solid.

Ghost.

Solid.

Tanvir wiped the blood from his lips with the back of his broken hand.

It healed slower now.

Regeneration was struggling.

"…Heh."

A weak laugh escaped him.

"So this is your complete form…"

Chunk vanished again—

And passed through him.

AGONY.

Tanvir's vision went white.

His organs twisted as if crushed from inside.

He dropped to one knee.

Another pass.

More internal damage.

His heart skipped.

His ribs cracked again.

Chunk reappeared behind him.

"You cannot defend against what has no boundary."

Tanvir coughed violently.

Blood splattered the ground.

His fingers trembled.

He tried to stand—

—but Chunk appeared in front of him this time.

Fully solid.

A brutal punch slammed into Tanvir's face.

He spun and crashed into the ground.

Before he could recover—

A kick to the ribs.

CRACK.

Regeneration flickered.

Slower.

Slower.

Chunk grabbed Tanvir by the throat—

Half solid, half ghost.

Pain radiated inside and out at once.

"You killed my brother."

He slammed Tanvir into the ground.

Again.

Again.

Each impact weaker than the last—

—but Tanvir still tried to rise.

His breathing was ragged now.

Uneven.

His left eye swollen shut.

One arm barely responding.

Chunk stood over him.

"You are finished."

Tanvir lay there—

Broken.

Bleeding.

Body failing.

But his remaining eye opened.

Calm.

Not fear.

Not panic.

Just stubborn will.

"…If you're complete now…"

He coughed blood again.

"…Then that means… you have something to lose."

Chunk's eyes narrowed.

Tanvir forced himself onto one knee.

His body shook violently.

He was clearly losing.

Clearly outmatched.

Chunk stepped forward.

"No more words."

He raised his arm—

Energy spiraling violently.

Tanvir didn't raise his guard.

He couldn't.

His body was too damaged.

But he didn't close his eye either.

He stared directly at Chunk.

Waiting.

Enduring.

Ready to take the next hit—

Even if it meant death.

Chunk's fist stopped inches from Tanvir's heart.

The pressure alone cracked the ground beneath him.

Tanvir couldn't move.

He couldn't even breathe properly.

Then—

Moon's voice cut through the battlefield.

"Wait, Chunk. Killing that human… would it be worth it?"

Chunk's jaw tightened.

"He killed my brother. I want revenge."

"I know what you're feeling," Moon replied softly. "But look at him. Do you see fear?"

Chunk paused.

He looked down.

Tanvir's face was broken.

Blood everywhere.

One eye swollen shut.

The other—

Steady.

Chunk hesitated.

"What should I do, Supreme?"

Moon slowly pointed toward a distant building.

"On that building… his brother is resting."

Her lips curved slightly.

"You know what to do."

For the first time—

Tanvir's body froze.

Not from injury.

From shock.

His breathing stopped.

His remaining eye widened.

Fear.

Raw.

Unfiltered.

Chunk leaned closer.

Their faces inches apart.

He studied Tanvir carefully.

"…I can see it."

A slow, cruel smile formed.

"I can see fear in your eyes, human."

He leaned to Tanvir's ear and whispered,

"I am going to kill your brother."

Tanvir's fingers dug into the soil.

His heartbeat roared in his ears.

All the pain.

All the injuries.

None of it mattered now.

Chunk slowly stood upright.

He turned his back on Tanvir.

Completely.

Dismissively.

"I will let you live," he said calmly. "So you can watch."

His body began flickering—

Preparing to phase toward the building.

Every second felt heavier than the last.

Tanvir's vision blurred.

His body was destroyed.

Regeneration nearly depleted.

Chunk tried to step forward—

But something pulled him back.

He looked down.

Tanvir's broken hand was gripping his ankle.

The bones were twisted.

The fingers bent wrong.

They should not move.

Chunk's eyes narrowed—

Dark purple aura was leaking from Tanvir's body.

Not flowing.

Leaking.

Like cracks in a sealed container.

Chunk understood.

"…You're using telekinesis on yourself."

Tanvir's shattered arm jerked unnaturally, bones aligning midair without proper healing.

He was forcing his body to function.

Chunk reacted instantly—

A brutal kick.

Tanvir flew and slammed into the ground.

Once.

Twice.

The crater deepened.

"Stay down, human," Chunk said coldly. "I am not going to kill you."

Tanvir's body twitched.

Then—

It began to rise.

Not naturally.

Like a puppet pulled by invisible strings.

His head tilted sideways.

His spine straightened with audible cracks.

Skin began splitting.

Not bleeding.

Purple light shone through the fractures.

Small shards of skin fell like broken porcelain.

For the first time—

Chunk felt it.

Fear.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

He stared carefully.

Tanvir's body wasn't regenerating.

It was destabilizing.

The reason he didn't spam telekinesis.

The reason he slowed down after the ninth wave.

His body was never meant to contain that power.

Telekinesis wasn't just an ability.

It was pressure.

And now—

He had removed the limiter.

Tanvir lifted his head slowly.

Both eyes now glowing purple.

Even the swollen one forced open by invisible force.

His voice came out distorted.

Calm.

But cracking.

"It doesn't matter anymore."

The air around him began warping violently.

Stones floated.

Then crushed into dust.

The ground fractured in spirals around his feet.

Chunk instinctively stepped back.

"You're going to die," he said.

Tanvir smiled faintly.

His skin continued breaking apart, purple energy leaking like light through shattered glass.

"I know."

The pressure doubled.

Then tripled.

The battlefield began collapsing inward.

Tanvir's body was becoming exactly what you said—

A ticking time bomb.

And Chunk could feel it.

If this continues—

It won't just kill Tanvir.

It will erase everything nearby.

Chunk's layered voice lowered.

"…You're insane."

Tanvir took one step forward.

The ground beneath that step disintegrated.

"You threatened my brother."

Silence.

Purple light expanded outward in pulses.

Unstable.

Violent.

Beautiful.

One more push—

And something irreversible will happen.

Chunk must choose.

Fight.

Flee.

Or stop him before detonation.
