Chapter 160 - A Secret Realm Inside the Room

As soon as they got home, Chen Shi suddenly felt busier than ever.

After lunch, he released Dragapult and the others, letting them roam around freely. Then he dragged Florges and Togekiss around the house, filming video after video to record various Fairy-type moves.

All of this would be essential material when he published his Fairy-type paper later.

During the process, he also taught Cynthia how to properly use Mega Evolution, casually recording a few demonstration videos along the way.

As for Phoebe—she wasn't in a hurry at all. She literally carried a chair outside and began basking in the sunlight without a care in the world.

Once all that was done, Chen Shi didn't immediately start writing his papers. Instead, he took out the low-grade Secret Realm Core and went to find his grandparents.

"Grandpa, this is a Secret Realm Core I got from the League. My teacher said that as long as enough energy is supplied, it can transform into a small secret realm."

"I'm thinking of placing it on the back mountain. What do you think?"

Grandpa Chen focused his gaze on the diamond-shaped crystal in Chen Shi's hand. After a moment of silence, he sighed softly.

"That's something you should decide for yourself. Everything here will belong to you eventually anyway."

"But I've heard of this thing before. It seems that whatever type of energy you feed it at the start determines what kind of secret realm it becomes later."

"Have you decided which attribute to use?"

Chen Shi frowned slightly as he thought, then replied, "Grass-type."

"We have so many fruit trees and medicinal herbs at home. Later on, we can transplant them all inside."

Grandpa Chen nodded, unsurprised by the decision.

A Grass-type secret realm was the most suitable environment for growing berries and medicinal plants.

Since Chen Shi had brought the core back from the League, it was obvious he planned to use it for the family farm. Grass-type was naturally the best choice.

"This thing needs quite a bit of energy," Grandpa Chen added.

"Go find Venusaur and Sceptile and have them inject energy into the core."

"Once it partially forms into a secret realm, the core will be able to absorb ambient energy on its own to expand."

"Got it," Chen Shi replied, nodding in understanding.

However, instead of going to find Venusaur or Sceptile, he went straight upstairs to his room—where Mew was sprawled out on his bed, lazily sleeping.

"You've been freeloading at my place for so long," Chen Shi said, raising an eyebrow.

"Isn't it about time you did some actual work?"

"Mew~"

Mew opened its eyes in a daze, then scratched its head sheepishly.

"Mew~"

(What do you want me to do?)

Chen Shi took out the Secret Realm Core and smirked.

"Inject some Grass-type energy into this. Help me turn it into a Grass-type secret realm."

As a Pokémon capable of learning nearly every move, Mew injecting Grass-type energy was effortless.

And with Mew's higher-grade, purer energy, there might even be some unexpected benefits.

"Mew~"

Hearing that it was such a trivial task, Mew relaxed immediately and patted its chest in confidence.

Chen Shi had just started to smile—but what Mew did next nearly made him curse out loud.

Mew snatched the core straight from his hands. Its tiny paw lit up with brilliant green light as an enormous amount of pure Grass-type energy surged directly into the crystal.

"Hey—what the hell are you doing?!"

"Don't do this in my room! Go outside—outside!"

Unfortunately, it was already too late.

The once-transparent diamond-shaped crystal rapidly turned emerald green under the massive energy infusion. At the same time, Chen Shi noticed faint裂纹—thin cracks—appearing in the surrounding space.

Chen Shi's eyes widened.

"Those aren't… space cracks, are they?!"

"Is the secret realm forming already?!"

"Damn it, Mew! Are you going to erase my room?! We won't even have a place to sleep tonight!"

Mew froze for a moment.

Then it realized—if the room disappeared, its bed would disappear too.

That was unacceptable.

Mew's small body trembled slightly, worry flashing through its eyes. In the next instant, a terrifying wave of psychic power erupted from its body.

The psychic energy surged outward like a tidal wave, causing the surrounding air to feel heavy and oppressive.

In a flash of light, Mew's psychic power locked onto the spatial cracks with incredible precision.

It was as if an invisible hand gently smoothed over the distorted space.

The jagged fractures slowly smoothed out, and the warped space returned to normal bit by bit.

Mew focused intensely, continuing to pour out psychic energy until every last trace of instability vanished.

Only then did it let out a small sigh of relief.

At that moment, the transformed Secret Realm Core began to change again.

It slowly started spinning, faster and faster, like a miniature vortex driven by some mysterious force.

In the blink of an eye, the crystal fully transformed into a gray swirling portal.

Chen Shi stared at the secret realm entrance that had appeared inside his bedroom, his face going completely black.

He had planned to place the secret realm on the back mountain—or at least near the orchard—so transplanting berries and herbs would be easy.

It would've been just a short walk away.

But now, thanks to Mew's reckless behavior, the entrance was sitting right in his room.

This was absurd.

Meanwhile, Mew was completely oblivious to the problem, proudly floating in the air as if it had just accomplished something amazing.

"Mew~"

(Aren't you going to thank me already?)

Veins popped on Chen Shi's forehead as he snapped,

"I'll thank your entire family!"

"I wanted the entrance on the back mountain—not in my bedroom, you stupid cat!"

Mew bristled in anger—briefly—then immediately went into denial mode.

"Mew~"

(That's your fault for not being clear. This has nothing to do with me.)

Chen Shi didn't bother arguing anymore.

"Forget it. I'll ask you one thing—can the entrance be moved?"

"If it can, move it to the back mountain. Now."

Mew hesitated.

It could be moved… but it wasn't something Mew specialized in. It would take a lot of effort.

And frankly, Mew didn't really feel like working that hard.

Chen Shi took one look at Mew's expression and instantly knew—it could do it, it just didn't want to.

So he switched tactics.

"One box of ice cream."

Mew's body twitched.

"Three boxes of ice cream. Final offer."

"Mew!"

(Leave it to me!)
