[Night, New Moon City Rusted Wall]
Late winter to early spring, the night air was still cold, and the soldiers of the defense unit patrolling the rusted wall were wearing winter coats.
Two new recruits and veterans were pacing back and forth on the wall. The night was long, and there was no one watching them, so they chatted to pass the time:
"Do you think the news about the Celestial Gate Patrol Station falling and beasts coming to New Moon City is true?"
"I think it's fake. How could beasts have such power? They're essentially just animals driven by wild instincts. Have you ever seen animals defeat a high-tech army?"
"That's what you say, but I feel like we should keep watching the news. Something's off at the Border District lately. A lot of people have been fleeing over the past month, and every day people from the Border District try to sneak into the Inner City and get caught. And now there are reports about beasts. I wonder if there's a connection?"
