At that moment, Caden Lockwood's voice suddenly rang by her ear: "What's wrong? What are you thinking about so intently?"
Evelyn Morgan was startled and looked at Caden, a fleeting guilty conscience flashing in her eyes.
Caden took Evelyn's hands and pulled her to sit on the edge of the bed.
After carefully examining her, he said seriously, "If Aunt May is unwell, you shouldn't cook yourself. We can eat out, or hire another chef to come. I wasn't home for just a little while, and you're already being disobedient?"
"I'm fine!" Evelyn blurted out instinctively.
Caden frowned and asked, "Are you really okay?"
Evelyn was stunned for a moment, realizing she misspoke, she quickly corrected herself: "No, no, no! There is something wrong! Oh dear! My back hurts, my waist aches, and my arms are sore!"
She felt helpless. Was she really pretending to be sick just to avoid being sent away?
But Caden became anxious, "I'll take you to the hospital!"
