This request put Bella in a bit of a bind.
It wasn't because she was worried the old man had any bad intentions; it just felt like she was overly concerned with Damian's company's affairs.
This conflicted somewhat with her intention to maintain distance and draw a clear line with Damian.
But it seemed like they hadn't really drawn that line anyway—her daughter was still calling him "Dad" and following him closely.
Bella sighed almost imperceptibly.
The old man heard it and said, "Young Acker, if this makes you uncomfortable..." But could you be so kind as to take me home?
Before he could express what was truly on his mind, Bella was already shaking her head with a smile. "No, I'm just worried about your health. How about we go to the hospital for a check-up first, and then I'll take you home. How does that sound?"
