When Luna stepped out of the kitchen, she saw Kian Sterling standing there holding Zora. The little fox's fiery red fur contrasted against his snow-white beast robe, so beautiful it was like a painting.
"Done talking?"
Kian's palm gently stroked his daughter's fluffy red fur, his fox eyes filled with a gentle, warm smile.
Zora rolled over in his arms, revealing her fluffy belly, and called out to Luna with an "awoo."
She nodded, stepped forward, and took Zora from Kian's arms. As soon as the little fox landed in her embrace, she excitedly squirmed.
Clearly, she really liked Matron.
"No, you interrupted us."
She teased the little fox in her arms while replying playfully.
Hearing this, Kian's smile faded a bit and he looked a little uneasy. "I truly didn't mean to interrupt you two."
His voice was gentle, tinged with an apologetic undertone, as if it really wasn't his intention.
Luna looked at him, expression complicated.
