Just as he slipped in, he bumped right into a wall of people. What rotten luck.
Soren Phoenix clutched his sore nose and looked up, meeting Corbin Crowley's silvery eyes, cold as a moonlit pool.
"Tsk, isn't this our Phoenix Beauty?"
Corbin's thin lips curled, and his finger lifted Soren's swollen chin. "Got stung like this by a bee—were you out stealing honey or something?"
He obviously knew the Dragon Clan was behind this. Even though he'd been beaten into a pig's head, compared to Rhys Blackwood and Zeke Veridian, he was far better off.
Turns out the Young Lord of the Phoenix Clan's status still counted for something. At least those Dragon Clan bastards didn't dare go completely overboard.
