Luna followed the others back to the mining site, silent all the way.
Corbin Crowley's silver eyes swept over her pale face, a flash of pain in his gaze. He gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, his voice soft: "Still thinking about that Mad Dragon?"
She lifted her head to look at him, forcing out a faint smile: "No."
"Liar."
Zeke Veridian walked over, his tone cool, verdant eyes fixed on her. "You can barely walk straight."
Luna pressed her lips together and didn't argue further.
Kian Sterling let out a low laugh, his ten tails swaying leisurely. "If you couldn't let go, Luna, you should have just killed him earlier—would have saved us trouble in the future."
That was honestly what he thought: just kill to make things simple, so Mael Valerius wouldn't remember and cause trouble, or so Luna wouldn't keep fretting...
"Kian!"
Rhys Blackwood warned coldly.
Kian merely smiled, knowing she couldn't bear to, and said no more.
