She was lost in thought when suddenly, a soft laugh drifted from behind her.
"Luna."
The voice was warm as jade, tinged with a familiar teasing undertone.
She spun around, only to see Kian Sterling standing not far away, nine snowy-white fox tails swaying gently in the morning light, framing his exquisite features with androgynous beauty.
"Kian!"
Luna's eyes instantly brightened, her lips curving into a subtle smile as she walked toward him.
Noticing the nine white fox tails behind him, her smile deepened with delight. "Your tails grew back?"
Kian gazed at her with a smile, his fingertips gently brushing the tendrils of hair falling on either side of her face, tucking them behind her ear. "Mm. The Sacred Pool works wonders."
He lifted his gaze, his eyes passing over Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, and the others—especially lingering, momentarily complex, as he took in their evolved forms.
But soon, he let it go.
