A voice suddenly popped up in her mind, bright and cheerful, startling enough to scare someone half to death.
"Slow down."
Zeke Veridian frowned and handed her a clean piece of beast hide, his emerald eyes shining like crystal under the firelight. "Why are you eating so fast? No one's fighting you for it."
His tone was disdainful, but his movements were gentle.
"Cough… Thanks."
She took the beast hide and wiped the corner of her mouth. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Zeke's hand quickly pulling back, his fingertips trembling slightly, and a suspicious flush tinged his cold, handsome face, making him look even more striking for no reason.
Under the glow of the fire, he looked even more breathtaking, like a blue lotus blooming suddenly on a snow-capped mountain peak.
Luna Sutton found herself a little lost staring at him, her gaze flickered, and she quickly turned away.
Zeke's looks were no worse than any of them, just a different vibe—aloof and indifferent.
