Kian Sterling's fingers traced over Chloe Callahan's face, a glint of interest flashing in his eyes.
"Tsk, this female's skin is rare—so white it's almost glowing. But those features… kinda plain. So bland, like meat soup with no salt. Not nearly as pretty as Luna after her makeover."
Then he reached out to check her breathing, and found it was weak—clearly she'd swallowed a lot of water from the river.
Kian let out a light sigh. He honestly wasn't interested in strange females.
But seeing this pitiful little thing, he couldn't just leave her here to fend for herself.
"Forget it. I'll just consider it a good deed for the day."
He twirled his tail around Chloe and carried her off to the cave he was currently staying in.
He even went out of his way to avoid the path toward The Salt Lake.
Not because he was worried about other beastmen finding Chloe, but because he was afraid Chloe would wake up halfway and discover The Salt Lake herself.
