Jett stared at Corbin Crowley, who had suddenly shapeshifted, pure terror surging in his heart.
In an instant, he transformed too, turning into a massive Bloodwolf, though a size smaller than Corbin.
He powered his four paws, spun around, and bolted toward the cave entrance.
His speed was incredible; in a blink, he vanished from sight.
Corbin Crowley stared coldly at Jett's fleeing back, a mocking glint flickering in his silver eyes, yet he didn't chase immediately.
He turned his head lazily. His wolf eyes icy, he looked at Luna Sutton and spoke in human words, "You seemed to be having a good time chatting with him just now?"
His voice was low and dangerous.
Luna Sutton could sense the menace radiating from him, and her heart sank; this was not going well.
But on the surface, she remained composed, only her expression a bit stiff, and muttered, "No, no, I was tricking him, trying to buy time so I could escape and find you all for help."
