Hear me out though think about it. Mean stepmother, a sister who hates him at first, an animal companion, secretly a prince, a magical bloodline, can sing well, and is a good fighter with a magic sword.
Jon Snow is a Disney princess. Let that marinate while we get to the rest of this chapter.
Anyway, I've also been shopping around for a new car so that's been delaying chapters a little bit. But also I have been having a bit of writer's block with this chapter I basically got halfway through and stopped liking where it was going.
Also, I've added a character image chapter in the auxiliary chapters so feel free to check that out and request new characters to appear in the story in the future.

[ Time: 10:45 PM ]
[ First Person POV ]
[ Kairo Oyama ]
As the startled henchmen start to shout and lift their guns I cut them off. A swift lift of my hands sends all but one of them colliding into the ceiling with enough force to knock them out or at least drop their guns.
"Freeze them," I look at Freeze who to my surprise quickly takes the order without comment. With a nod, Victor freezes each of them to the ceiling as I let the last one fall to the ground. The others hung there like human icicles while the rest of us started to spread out. The blue-purple light left my eyes, and I looked over at Domino, who looked back at me.
"Whoa neat trick kid," Domino said smiling and unholstering the gun on her right hip as the two of us approached the groaning guard.
"Woo hoo!" Holly ran forward past the rest of the group and jumped into the massive pile of money and Selina walked after her with a smile and a shake of her head. Then she joined her jumping atop the thick pile of hundred-dollar bills.
"I suppose you're lucky to have me," I smirked at the pun, she barked out a laugh then pointed the weapon at the man's head. The black-masked goon curled up into a ball in pain, groaning like a wounded animal.
'Looks like he landed wrong on his ribs, probably broke something,' I said my smirk turning into a frown.
"Freeze." I turn to Victor swiftly before anything else.
"Close the gate and guard the entrance for now will you, we don't need any more of them sneaking up on us," I say to the chilling villain who just nods again and walks away Freeze Ray in tow. The gate closes quickly and he freezes it closed from the inside while we wait. That isn't a problem though as my plants can probably break through the ice just in case.
After that, I walk over to Holly and Selina playing atop the massive pole of money.
"Hey you two get off the money pile unless you want to fall," I say placing my hand atop one of the burned dollar bills connected to the man's stack. We were lucky enough that most of the money landed in the correct place so there wasn't anything to truly worry about there.
Besides we'd all be splitting the cash equally as soon as we made it back to a safe place to count and separate it. Until then we were a crew, a crew that couldn't afford to betray me if they wanted the money from this job.
"What do you mean?" Holly asks but I don't bother to explain instead I just summon the money inside my inventory and let the two of them fall it's not a high height so the two of them will be just fine even if they land wrong.
Holly just fell on her back with a shout but Selina's fine ass managed to land on her feet using those feline reflexes of hers.
"Next time give us minutes to actually move!" Holly yelled at me but I just rolled my eyes and turned while Selina huffed but didn't say anything. Then turning around I made my way over to the one goon who we didn't attach to the ceiling.
"Hey dipshit," I kicked him in the hurt side causing him to call out in pain. "Get up answer my questions, unless you'd like a bullet to the face from my friend here of course," I smiled which seemed to be the right thing to do as the man started talking almost immediately.
"Wait wait please I'll do whatever you want!" The man said holding up his hands in surrender.
"So is this all the cash or is there more of it?" Domino asked all traces of amusement disappearing.
"There's more! We were just taking the last of it onto a boat," The man says quickly trying not to stare too hard at the gun pointed at his face.
"Which boat?" She says narrowing her eyes at him but the man stayed silent for a moment struggling with how to answer before stuttering his next sentence.
"I-i can't Black Mask h-he he'll kill me," He said trying to look to me for mercy only to find none. My eyes glowed a vibrant green and verdant vines shot up out of the ground pinning down each of his limbs and piercing them with thorns. The man screamed with pain at the piercing but I didn't have the patience for that, not right now there was money to be made.
"Answer the question cockhole!" I yelled kicking the man in the side.
"Damn kid your meaner than my sister," Domino glanced over at me but just smirked looking back down at the goon. Though I couldn't help but wonder about the sibling she mentioned. To my knowledge, she didn't have any siblings that I knew of in any timeline.
"You have a sister?" I questioned him while spraying a weak acid onto the man's face. He yelled in pain but it wasn't an outright screech since the stuff wasn't strung enough to melt his face off or anything. Just some redness and stinging.
"Yep, twins!" She says cheerfully while pressing the gun harder into the goon's head while he tries to wiggle away like the little worm he was.
I got closer stepping a foot onto the man's wounded side and leaning into him causing him to groan in pain.
"The ship. Now," I grimace staring down into the goon's eyes. The man rapidly nods his head and begins to spill the details as quickly as possible.

[ Third Person POV ]

"So you love her?" A guard asked his fellow guard as the two of them stood at the end of a dock bridge connected to the entrance of a massive yacht.
"Yes," the other guards said with a nod. Above him though Kai and Domino floated over them relying on her lick to not get spotted. The rest of the team split off from them for now to maintain their stealth advantage. The other team was also looking for a way to distract all the dock guards so the rest of them could make a clean getaway with the cash.

"And you want to marry her?" The man asked again
"Yes,"
"So what's the problem,"
"I mean hell yeah I love her… but cutting off all my hoes, I mean come on," The guard shrugged, shaking his head as he stood on one side of the only bridge onto the luxury yacht behind him.
"What exactly do they have that she doesn't?," He says turning to the other man.
"She's nice and all… but these hoes! They'll do so much for just ten minutes of your time!" He says gesturing wildly with one hand.
"If you like those other girls so much why don't you just marry one of them?" The other man asks and his fellow guard holds his silence for a moment before answering.
"… Because she's a whore. I don't wanna cuff that!" The guard says as if that were incredibly obvious.
"That's a pump-and-go, you feel me?" He says gesturing offhandedly before returning it to his gun.
"Man… we are lost as a community," the other guard says whacking his head back and forth.
But as they were about to continue this deep and incredibly wise conversation they were suddenly hit by a blast of sleeping gas from Kai. Then he pulled them into the water with vines.
As the two of them hit the deck, Kai and Domino sprinted up the bridge stairs and onto the yacht.
They'd been ready for a fight but there wasn't anyone there. Searching the deck covered in crates they weren't exactly sure what part of the ship they were looking for. Eventually after minutes of fruitless searching, the two made it to a sort of center area. In fact, it vaguely reminded Kai of a sort of boss are an where
They made it to just about the middle of the deck before a group of spotlights suddenly turned on and focused on them. Going back-to-back Domino lifted her twin guns and Kai readied his powers
Then a loud voice from over an intercom called out to them.
-[ "Well well well it seems my little trap has caught some vermin after all. You're ahead of schedule though, we have yet to move all the cheese you rats are here to steal." ]-
The voice was playful and had a thick Russian accent. Then another light came on and inside a control room far above them another man could be seen. The man was tall and extremely well-muscled, but more than that Kai recognized the man almost instantly.
Why?
Mainly because he was wearing a massive lion pelt as clothing.

Hunters from Kraven's crew began to walk up from behind them and several floor panels around the deck parted to reveal automatic turrets.
-[" I thought you might be here boy. My daughter told me of you and your strange abilities. So, when Black Mask requested that I relocate part of his cash before the hunt began as a show of good faith, I knew your friend would return to finish the job. I have studied this prey you see. Which begs the question or rather two, what are you? But more importantly, where is your feline friend? She seemed like excellent prey for me to hunt, I was looking forward to adding her pelt to my collection." ]-
Then the hunter started ranting about something or other but Kai just started to tune him out and look for an exit. More than that he was hoping that the B team had actually found what they were looking for. Then something Kraven said caught his attention.
-[ " But first let us see how you fare against my newest pet." ]-
Then from behind the two of them a Kai was heard growling. Turning to look at the massive black creature the first thing Kai noticed was the massive grey fist headed directly towards his face.
CLANG!
Kai rocketed backwards into the nearest crate denting the metal while Domino backflipped away unscathed. To the surprise of all three people watching Kai right now though he was mostly unscathed but that wasn't it. He was also mostly unscathed.
In the moment of impact, something had changed. It was as if a dormant force waiting inside Kai's body had awakened, and thinking about that may have just been exactly what happened to survive the hit.
Kai himself wasn't feeling much pain or anything in fact all he felt was a strange tingle all over his skin. Looking down at his hands he discovered that his skin had changed from its normal brown shade to a metallic chrome color.
Cupping them he could see his own reflection. Not only had Pretty Up done its work to make him taller and more attractive but whatever this was it had changed him too. Besides the fact that his eyes were glowing pure white something which he'd grown used to seeing for the most part. Protruding from his forehead were two Oni-style horns made from the same mysterious material coating his skin.
As if seeing them made the horns physical he could suddenly feel them atop his own head. Tracing his hands along them he took a moment to readjust to his head's new strange balance.

Then a new notification window appeared in front of him. Giving it a quick read his eyes went wide.

So Kairo awakened his quirk I wondered if anyone would catch that he had one considering his mother is Japanese. Originally I was planning to do it another way but I ended up scrapping that plan and just making it happen here so the heist would have a bit more relevance to the plot.
Plus I was getting a bit tired of writing about it about halfway through and I was thinking about maybe writing a side story or two just for fun.
Let me know what you guys think of his quirk and what it might be able to do? My even make some name suggestions I might just take them.
I also ended up cutting out the Batman part of this chapter as well so I'll save that for the next one.
Anyway, you know what would be cool a decision-based game set during House of the Dragon. I've been interacting with a lot of Game of Thrones content lately if you can't tell.
